I did it just once, it was love alarm 2, that season was a visual torture

No. What's the point of watching the show then lol.

Occasionally. Less when I'm watching on my phone and more when I'm watching on my desktop. I use a playback speed extension on my browser and adjust it based on the scene. I'm used to it since I used to do it back in college with my recorded lectures, and it doesn't take away from my enjoyment. Do you?

It also depends on the drama and how busy you are in your life.

  • If all the characters of the drama have their own story which is interesting and from which you can connect to them somehow, And the entire story should be interesting in itself that you don't feel the need to blink or leave your chair. then you will never skip that drama for a sec .  (on normal speed.)
  •  And if you like only one or two characters in the whole drama and their story then you will skip and watch  (I mostly watch at a speed of 2-3.5 )

2023-09-20 >> Do I watch dramas at fast speed mode? Yes, almost always, usually at 110%. I use VLC media player. The keyboard square brackets control the speed of the video, by 10ths; the right bracket ] speeds it up, the left bracket [ slows it down. 110% turns an hour into 54 minutes. That makes 16 one-hour episodes run 14 hours and 24 minutes. (But you still get 16 hours credit on your MyDramaList profile statistics. Such a deal!)

Usually, 110% works. Occasionally the subtitles come tumbling one after another so fast that I have to revert to 100%. On rare occasions, particularly with fast talkers, I go to 90%. Thankyouforaskingnowyouknow.

 sunflowerfield:

How often you do that?

ALL

THE

TIME

As mentioned above 110% on VLC is great.  Because it handles tone stretching well, I can go out to 113% without the voices sounding weird. The cumulative time-saving of running at 110-113% over an entire Drama is very significant.

I will never do that because it's not like I have any obligation to force-finish a drama. If it's too slow and draggy that simply means it is not for me and possibly deserves a drop. Of course that's just me.

I wonder if anyone watches drama in slower speed though.

Watching dramas at 1.25 speed is only noticeable when characters are running or doing some other activity at speed. Otherwise, speed watching at 1.25 is invisible.

Any drama that has to pad episodes by having characters look into space for long periods is utterly unbearable without turning up the speed. This describes many lakorns--especially older lakorns, or lakorns where episodes exceed an hour. many Turkish dramas and all Pakistan dramas.

i do sometimes when the plot seems a bit slow

I watch YT on 1.5-2x  speed sometimes, but not drama. I feel like it would be hard to read the subs and to properly appreciate the feeling of scenes. I'm quite selective about what I watch anyway, so I rarely watch things that are such a chore to watch that I'd need to speed it up.

Yes often because there are those scene when is just long and not interesting. But i tend to do that less often now

I watch it sped up for parts of the show which are boring and takes long to get to the point. My short attention span can’t handle it ?. Even with Youtube videos i watch it in 2x speed.
