Occasionally. Less when I'm watching on my phone and more when I'm watching on my desktop. I use a playback speed extension on my browser and adjust it based on the scene. I'm used to it since I used to do it back in college with my recorded lectures, and it doesn't take away from my enjoyment. Do you?
It also depends on the drama and how busy you are in your life.
2023-09-20 >> Do I watch dramas at fast speed mode? Yes, almost always, usually at 110%. I use VLC media player. The keyboard square brackets control the speed of the video, by 10ths; the right bracket ] speeds it up, the left bracket [ slows it down. 110% turns an hour into 54 minutes. That makes 16 one-hour episodes run 14 hours and 24 minutes. (But you still get 16 hours credit on your MyDramaList profile statistics. Such a deal!)
Usually, 110% works. Occasionally the subtitles come tumbling one after another so fast that I have to revert to 100%. On rare occasions, particularly with fast talkers, I go to 90%. Thankyouforaskingnowyouknow.
Watching dramas at 1.25 speed is only noticeable when characters are running or doing some other activity at speed. Otherwise, speed watching at 1.25 is invisible.
Any drama that has to pad episodes by having characters look into space for long periods is utterly unbearable without turning up the speed. This describes many lakorns--especially older lakorns, or lakorns where episodes exceed an hour. many Turkish dramas and all Pakistan dramas.
