i have been curious about it for a while:
i have read the "about us" page from MDL, and it says its been founded in 2011.
i guess back then, K-dramas were way more omnipresent than all other dramas incl. C-Dramas, or J-Dramas or whatever other Asian country.

but it seems like whenever i go to the landing page or the literal "home" page of MDL, its all about k-drama news and k-drama stars, and k-drama gossip and so on.

is MDL run by a korean staff?
are K-Dramas so much more popular because there are more shows from Korea, on streaming sites like netflix?
does anyone have like statistics, like worldwide, in terms of viewership?

i mean , i get it, that there is no way, dramas from countries such as Thailand, or Vietnam, or Taiwan, or Japan, or Philippines or Malaysia (not sure about India, they have had popular Bollywood movies, why did their television industry never develop similarly to Chinese dramas?) are popular like K-dramas.

but in terms of sheer numbers, i wonder, really, which dramas are more popular?
k-dramas or c-dramas?

and why is it, that on the main page, of MDL, its loaded with K-drama news, but just a tiny bit of c-dramas?

I'm not sure who built it, but I have a feeling it was done by SEA. They are usually the first to recognise the Asian drama world. Korean drama was already popular among SEA fans at the time, and I recall them competing with Japanese and Taiwanese drama, but now, with Korean drama and Kpop dominating the world, Japanese and Taiwanese drama are falling far behind.

Chinese drama began to gain recognition around 2014/2015, and production and quality improved significantly, which is why I believe they are now gaining popularity after Kdrama.
