Weki Meki's Kim Do Yeon will join hands with Girl's Day's Lee Hye Ri, Jang Ki Yong, Kang Han Na, Bae In Hyuk, and others in the upcoming tvN drama "My Roommate Is a Gumiho".
On February 12, reports stated that Kim Do Yeon will be debuting in her first ever TV drama series in "My Roommate Is a Gumiho".
The drama is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. It will narrate the story of an unexpected romance between a 22 year old female college student named Lee Dam (played by Lee Hye Ri) and a 999-year old nine-tailed fox (Gumiho) named Shin Woo Yeo (played by Jang Ki Yong). They will live in the same house.
Kim Do Yeon will play the role of a senior at the University of Science and Technology. She's the sister of Gye Sun Woo, played by Bae In Hyuk.
"My Roommate Is a Gumiho" will be directed by Nam Sung Woo, who also worked on "Kkondae Intern". Writers of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Baek Sun Woo and Choi Bo Rim will also be the scriptwriters of the upcoming drama.
Although Kim Do Yeon has played several roles in short dramas, web series, and also made special appearances on tv dramas, this will be her first time to in an official tv drama.
The idol participated in "Produce 101" in 2016 and got to debut with temporary group I.O.I.
Kim Do Yeon made her re-debut with Weki Meki in 2017. Since then, she has been active in various promotional activities in music, variety shows and acting.
My Roommate Is a Gumiho is scheduled to air in the first half of 2021.
