Lie to Me

 Then: this was my very first drama so I will always have a special place for it in my heart. I didn't know what to expect since I had never heard of K-dramas before but I ended up loving this drama to death. I thought it was sweet and adorable. I did have an issue with the random separation at the end but it wasn't a deal breaker. I just thought it was so much fun and sweet. Overall I was just really in love with this drama. My rating at that point was a 9/10. 

Now: Omg the drama!!! Literally, there was so much drama. We had ex-lovers, rich elders, business drama, friend drama, brother drama and the much-dreaded separation tactic. This drama started so cutely and full of fluff but after the epic Coca-Cola kiss in episode 8, it just went straight downhill. It became such a melodrama. The characters began acting like different versions of themselves and the flow of the story made no sense. My rating now would be 7/10 and if it wasn't for those kisses it would be a 5.5/10.

Cunning Single Lady

Then: I enjoyed the main couple. They had a cute love story and the leads' chemistry was great. The comedy was on point but the rest of drama had too much unnecessary drama. I wish they would have changed the actors who played the second leads because they just didn't cut it for me and that made their scenes feel way too long. My rating then was 6.5/10. 

Now: This drama was really fun. The couple was very cute. They did such an excellent job setting up their backstory and their rapport was excellent. It really felt as though I was watching real life exes. There were moments of sadness and then followed by really funny scenes. It really had me laughing out loud, even just with recaps. The second leads took up way too much screen-time though. They really slowed down the story and the actors didn't have enough charisma to really pull me into their respective stories. It really is a pity because the lead couple is one of my favourite of any dramas but everything else about the drama was sub-par. My rating now would be 5.5/10.

Ex-girlfriend Club

Then: This drama was such a gem. I really enjoyed it and I didn't understand the low ratings. The drama was even shortened to 12 episodes because the ratings were so low. I thought the drama was fun and quirky. The mainly female cast was fun and something fresh. There was hair pulling and shenanigans in every episode. There were points in the drama where the show took itself too seriously and it lost track of its' fun and quirky vibe. One minute it was a fun, light-hearted show and the next there was an intense drama that just didn't fit into the flow of the show. Even though it had minor faults I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. My rating then was 8/10.

Now: Hmm, not quite what I remembered the second time around. Although there were bits of laughter and shenanigans everywhere the comedy just wasn't as compelling as some of the other dramas out there. While Cunning Single Lady had me cracking up this one just made me smile silently at the quirky bits. The main couple didn't have a romantic chemistry. They had the chemistry of friends and that didn't change at any point in the drama. On the flip side, the secondary characters became so much more fun the second time around. Not just the other ex-girlfriends but also the second lead male and the lead's family. Now I can see the faults that others saw the first time around. However, it still is a good drama to watch if you don't have any others. My rating now would be 6/10.

King 2 Hearts

Then: OMG Lee Seung Gi is the cutest boy ever! This drama really pulled me into the K-drama world. I remember thinking wow this couple actually relies on each other like a real life, healthy couple should. It was my first time where I got invested in the side characters and it was my first time being heartbroken by the side characters. This drama taught me that not all dramas will have a happily ever after and it taught me to be ok with that. It did annoy me how comic book villain they made the villain. That was such a small issue it really didn't mess with the flow of the story. The second leads were fantastic and the cast was immaculate. My rating then was a 10/10. 

NOW: OMG Lee Seung Gi is the cutest boy ever!!! I have never been so happy reading recaps. It really reminded me why this drama was just my all-time favourite drama. It was just a drama about 2 equals falling in love. I really loved the couple's communication and the way they relied on each other. The second time going through this drama was really enjoyable and the heartbreak was still felt even though I knew it was coming. The female lead was so tough, really not like many other dramas out there. There are not many dramas that deliver with the feels as much as this one did and because of that my rating now stays at 10/10.

Goblin

Then: The first 2 episodes were like a movie. The cinematography was on another level. Each scene in the first 2 episodes felt crucial to the story. The cast was perfect, every single person. The story  started dragging a little bit towards the middle but then picked up again. I loved how the everything made sense though. At no point in the drama did I feel as though people started acting out of character or that scenes were filler. Even though it wasn't the ending we were expecting it made sense for every character. My rating then was 8/10.

Now: Idk if it's just me but every drama after Goblin has really taken something from Goblin and that's why I decided to watch it again. I wanted to see what it was about this drama that really changed the way the rest of the 2017 dramas played out. Turns out it was even better the second time. The cast really was amazing. What I remembered as dragging was literally 1 episode. I can deal with that. I loved how there were no loose ends. Their love story was somewhat innocent and I loved the ending of the second couple. I don't think I've seen an ending like that and been happy about it ever before. That tells me how amazing the drama was. Goblin didn't have a lot of cliches and was really unique. Watching it a second time really solidified why it was the drama of the year in 2017. My rating now is 9.5/10.
