Kim Min Jung to make a special appearance in Check in Hanyang.
Check in Hanyang revolves around Yongcheonru, the largest guesthouse in Joseon, which operates under the motto "The guest is king," and it follows the young interns — Lee Eun Ho (Bae In Hyuk), Hong Deok Su (Kim Ji Eun), Chun Jun Hwa (Jung Gun Joo), and Go Soo Ra (Park Jae Chan) — who begin to work there for their own personal reasons.
Mr. Sunshine actress Kim Min Jung will be making a special appearance as Seol Mae Hwa, the general manager of Joseon's finest hotel in Check in Hanyang.
Seol Mae Hwa is the "daegakju" of Yongcheonru, a role equivalent to the general manager of a modern hotel, overseeing all operations within the guesthouse. With firm leadership and a sense of dignity, she is an important and absolute figure in Yongcheonru, respected by all the interns and a role model they aspire to emulate.
On December 5, Check in Hanyang unveiled a character poster capturing Kim Min Jung's commanding charisma. In the poster, she is seen adorned in a resplendent red hanbok, like she came out from a painting. The plum blossoms frame the poster, accentuating both the character's grace and the symbolic meaning of her name (maehwa meaning plum blossom).
The text "Have you come looking for me?" in the upper-right corner hints at Seol Mae Hwa's importance and status within Yongcheonru. Whenever something happens at Yongcheonru, she is the first person both the interns and guests turn to.
The text also hints at her connection with Hong Deok Su (Kim Ji Eun), who joined Yongcheonru with Seol Mae Hwa as her role model.
What drives Hong Deok Su to follow Seol Mae Hwa? Curiosity grows about the story between these two characters, who will play a pivotal role in driving the narrative of Check in Hanyang.
Check in Hanyang will premiere on December 21. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix and Viki.
