Lee Jung Jae shared his statement regarding the circulating issue that he was involved in the casting of the upcoming K-drama Squid Game Season 2.

On the morning of June 29th, Netflix released more names of the new casts of the upcoming second season of Squid Game

Park Gyu Young, Won Ji An, Lee Jin Wook, Kang Ae Shim, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, Jo Yu Ri, and former BIGBANG member T.O.P were introduced as the new additions to the much anticipated K-drama. 

The recent casting announcement drew attention. Some were applauding the new additions to the drama but some were also not happy about the other casts. Specifically, with former BIGBANG member T.O.P. who was involved in marijuana usage in the past and also announced his retirement in the past. 

With the casting of T.O.P., many speculated that Lee Jung Jae was behind the return of T.O.P. in the K-drama scene. The two are known to have maintained a close friendship. Netizens are stating that Lee Jung Hae got involved in the casting for Squid Game Season 2

The first season of Squid Game was led by Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, and more. For the new season, he will be joined by Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, and the newly announced addition casts. 

Lee Jung Jae then shared his side regarding the allegations through his agency Artist Company. The actor denied the suspicions and stressed that the director and the production company are the ones with authority on the casting and he is not involved in any of it.

We would like to give our stand regarding the reports about our artist Lee Jung Jae's involvement in the casting of 'Squid Game 2'.

Some reports assume that actor Lee Jung Jae was included in conducting the casting of 'Squid Game 2.' There is no truth in this. The casting of work is done by the director and the production company. Lee Jung Jae is fully aware that because of the great interest in 'Squid Game 2,' many actors did their best to make an appearance and the cast members were decided through audition.

We would like to reiterate that our artist Lee Jung Jae is not involved in any way in the casting of 'Squid Game 2.'
