Chief Detective 1958 released a highlight teaser.
Set in an era of chaos, Chief Detective 1958 tells the story of Detective Park Young Han, who, unable to see human dignity being trampled upon, joins forces with three colleagues to shatter the corrupt authority.
Chief Detective 1958 is a prequel to Chief Inspector. The K-drama takes place in 1958 when Detective Park Young Han was appointed to Seoul.
The teaser commences by showing the old Park Young Han (Choi Bool Am). He says, "The one who can beat a persistent person is even more persistent."
The scene then shifts to 1958, when Park Young Han (Lee Je Hoon) was a passionate young Detective catching criminals with his team, including Kim Sang Soon (Lee Dong Hwi), Cho Kyung Hwan (Choi Woo Sung), and Seo Ho Jeong (Yoon Hyun Soo).
From Kim Sang Soon disguising himself as a bank robber to Park Young Han breaking through among gangsters, the extraordinary teamwork of these detectives piques interest. Park Young Han determinedly says, "If we can't solve this case, a person's life might be ruined." However, in the face of external pressure of power and the harsh reality, even he can't help but feel frustrated.
When the team's guiding principle, "Let's ensure those who commit crimes are punished," which has never been violated, is shaken, even the stalwart Park Young Han begins to waver. He points a gun at a criminal without showing any shred of mercy but cries out of frustration at being unable to execute justice.
The teaser raises curiosity about the challenges Park Young Han and his team face, and how they will overcome them.
Chief Detective 1958 will premiere on April 19. The K-drama will be available to stream on Disney+. Watch the teaser here.
