Kim Yoo Jung will reportedly work alongside Ahn Jae Hong and Ryu Seung Ryong in the upcoming drama "Sweet and Sour Chicken."
On September 26th, media outlets reported that Kim Yoo Jung will be added to the cast of the upcoming Netflix original series "Sweet and Sour Chicken." According to reports, the actress is currently finalizing her appearance.
"Sweet and Sour Chicken" will adapt its story from the popular webtoon of the same name by Park Ji Dok. The drama will unfold as the main character Mina turned into a sweet and sour chicken because of a mysterious machine. His father and the intern who secretly likes her will work together to unfold the mysteries and bring her back to being human.
Kim Yoo Jung got the offer to play the role of Mina, the daughter of Choi Sun Man who is the CEO of the "All Machinery" company. Last week, it was reported that Ryu Seung Ryong will play the role of Choi Sun Man. On the other hand, Ahn Jae Hong got the offer to play the role of Ko Baek Joong, the intern at the machinery company.
"Sweet and Sour Chicken" will be a 12-episode drama that will be the latest work of director Lee Byung Hun ("Extreme Job").
According to reports, the upcoming series will begin its production starting in November. The series will exclusively premiere on Netflix.
If Kim Yoo Jung confirms her casting, this will be her first drama project to film this year. She last starred in the 2021 drama "Lovers of the Red Sky."
This year, Kim Yoo Jung focused on filming for her upcoming Netflix original film "20th Century Girl" with Byeon Woo Seok, Park Jung Woo, Roh Yoon Seo, Kim Sung Kyung, and Jung Suk Yong. She will also join the upcoming movie "Puppy" with Cha Tae Hyun, Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Ji Hyun, Ryu Soo Young, and Lee Seung Hee.
Kim Yoo Jung is currently appearing in the variety program "Young Actors' Retreat" together with the "Love in the Moonlight" main leads.
