56th Baeksang Arts Awards Best Actress Kim Jung will be joining the upcoming Disney+ Race.
On May 10, it was officially confirmed that Kim Jung will be added to the cast of the upcoming K-drama Race. Her agency Blade Entertainment confirmed the reports.
Race is an office K-drama that will revolve around marketer Park Yoo Joo who has no great academic background but was able to be part of a large company with her great passion. She then becomes embroiled in a hiring scandal.
The upcoming K-drama will be led by Lee Yun Hee, Hong Jong Hyun, Moon So Ri, TVXQ U-Know, Kim Ye Eun, and Jun.Q.
In the K-drama, Kim Jung will play the role of Ji Eun Jung. She is the team leader of Seyong Group's PR Team 3. Although she is the same age as the manager of the second public relations team, she was chosen to be promoted because of her excellent skills.
The upcoming series will be directed by Lee Dong Yoon (20th Century Boy and Girl and Fated to Love You) and written by Kim Roo Ri (Hyena and The Ace).
Race will premiere today at 4 PM KST. Every two episodes will be released every Wednesday. The K-drama will exclusively be available on Disney+.
This will be the first K-drama project of Kim Jung for 2023. She was last seen in the 2022 K-drama The Empire led by Kim Sun Ah, Ahn Jae Wook, Lee Mi Sook, Song Young Chang, Shin Goo, and Oh Hyun Kyung.
Kim Jung has starred in other K-dramas such as Political Fever and Hometown.
Back in 2020, Kim Jung won the Best Female Acting Award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards in the theater category.
