Kim Do Geon recently had an interview at the SpoTV News headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, where he talked about the film The Roundup: No Way Out.
Kim Do Geon joined forces with Ma Dong Seok in The Roundup: No Way Out as Seoul Metropolitan Investigation Team members. He said, "It differed from what I saw from a distance and experienced when working together. When I visited the set before, I only saw his acting, but I felt something I hadn't felt before while working on this project together."
As a member of The Roundup: No Way Out family, he noticed that Ma Dong Seok made the staff feel comfortable. Kim Do Geon praised him by saying, "If an actor like Ma Dong Seok acted emotionally, it could bring down the atmosphere on set, but he doesn't show that side. Even though he must be tired as he's the one who sleeps the least among the actors, he tries to create a joyful atmosphere."
Kim Do Geon described Ma Dong Seok as a "a very big person" and complimented him, saying, "His personality is immense. He tries to bring the sense of responsibility he possesses to everyone in a positive way." He then expressed his desire to learn a lot from him stating, "I can learn so much from him. I want to keep learning and working together with him."
When asked if he would like to meet as enemies in their next project instead of being on the same team, Kim Do Geon confidently replied, "I do have ambition," but then hesitated and said with a laugh, "But if we meet as enemies, I think I should consider the possibility of survival rather than the possibility of winning."
The Roundup: No Way Out depicts the thrilling crime crackdown operation led by the irreplaceable monster detective Ma Suk Do (Ma Dong Seok), who moves to Seoul's Gwangsu Street and pursues the mastermind behind a new drug crime, Joo Sung Cheol (Lee Joon Hyuk), and another villain involved in the drug case, Ricky (Aoki Munetaka). The film has surpassed 4 million viewers within five days of its release and performs well at the box office.
