Hey there, my darlings! If you love K-Drama OSTs and K-Pop, today is your lucky day! However, if you are not a fan of K-Pop but love K-Drama OSTs, this will be a fun introduction to some good K-Pop for you to try without falling down the rabbit hole (I can't promise anything though). If you dislike both, I'm sorry to say that this whole article is just not for you.

Now, many of us, including myself, started our journey to K-Drama and K-Pop roughly around the same time. Although I've watched and listened to both since 2009, it was as a casual viewer. It wasn't until 2015 that my addiction and commitment really kicked in.

So, as proof of my sheer commitment and since my world revolves around both, I've compiled a list of songs that could have been perfect as a K- Drama OST.

(Quick Note: The order of the list is by the title of the song.)

❝It's alright if you run out of breath, No one will blame you.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: This song is filled with melancholy and has a very sobering effect. It would work well with a lot of dramas, easily.
Potential Genre(s): Life, Melodrama, Romance, Tragedy, Suspense
Drama Example: SKY Castle

❝With that deep scent that bewitched me you lock me up in the room of eternity.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: With its haughtiness, this song was meant to be an OST. It is perfect for a break-up or death scene.
Potential Genre(s): Melodrama, Romance, Thriller, Mystery
Drama Example: My Mister

❝You can forget everything. It's all right. It's all right. Let it go.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: Its sweetest is perfect for nearly every drama with a reminiscing moment.
Potential Genre(s):
Romance, School, Family, Fantasy
Drama Example:
Itaewon Class

❝I will stay by your side, I will become your light.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: A lovely upbeat song that works great for loving and fun scenes in dramas.
Potential Genre(s):
Friendship, Romance, Comedy, Youth
Drama Example:
Extraordinary You

❝You win some. You lose some. Don't hesitate. Just do something.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: This is a badass slow jam song. It is absolutely perfect for dark dramas with corruption.
Potential Genre(s):
Action, Crime, Mystery, Thriller, Investigation, Suspense
Drama Example:
SignalThe K2

❝You wash over again, erasing everything, Tell me this is a bad dream.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: Fits great with sad, death, and break-up scenes. Also, it works well in genres with a specific niche.
Potential Genre(s):
Romance, Business, Law, Medical, Tragedy, Melodrama
Drama Example:
Search: WWW

❝Like sparkling lights, I'm sparkling in your eyes.❞

Reasons Behind Choice: A fresh and vibrate song that works well in fluffy and romantic dramas.
Potential Genre(s):
Romance, Comedy, Friendship, Life, Family, Supernatural
Drama Example:
The Beauty Inside

Mad Clown
Lie

Jung Il Hoon
 She's Gone
Fiestar
You're Pitiful
VIXX
Fantasy

There are still so many more K-Pop songs that could've been OSTs, and thankfully there will be a Part 2 coming soon. But until then, did I miss any of your favourites? Let me know which ones by leaving a comment down below.
