Labelmates Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin are confirmed to star together in a new novel-based K-drama.
On July 17th, Netflix announced that Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin will be the main leads of the upcoming K-drama Trunk.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration of director Kim Kyu Tae (Our Blues, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and It's Okay, That's Love) and writer Park Eun Young (Hwarang).
Trunk will be a marriage arrangement service where customers are matched to their best-suited partners for a one-year contract. Noh In Ji and Han Jung Won will meet through this and will face a whirlwind of unexpected events. The story will be based on the novel of the same name.
Gong Yoo will play the role of Han Jung Won. He is a music producer who lives with anxiety and loneliness because of his past. He also doesn't believe in marriage and thinks it's all deceit.
Seo Hyun Jin will play the role of Noh In Ji. She works for the fixed-term marriage service agency named NM. Although she works in a marriage service, she prefers to stay single.
The schedule for the release of the upcoming Netflix K-drama Trunk is yet to be confirmed.
This will be the comeback of Gong Yoo to Netflix after his 2021 K-drama The Silent Sea. The actor is also set to make a special appearance once again in the upcoming Squid Game Season 2. Aside from K-dramas, Gong Yoo is expected to make an appearance in the upcoming film Wonderland led by Miss A's Bae Suzy, Park Bo Gum, Choi Woo Shik, and Jung Yu Mi.
This will also be the comeback K-drama of Seo Hyun Jin. She previously starred in the SBS 2022 K-drama Why Her? with Hwang In Youp, Heo Joon Ho, Bae In Hyuk, Jo Young Jin, and Kim Sun Hyuk.
