Most of us have heard a relative, friend, or coworker who doesn't watch Asian dramas say these words: "But how do you tell them apart? They all look the same." Generally speaking, this has never been a problem for me. But even with more than a decade of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese drama watching, there are those who stun me with how similar they are. The eerie similarities can be in facial features, mannerism, or both.
P.S. Doppelgängers are not restricted to Asian people. Nor am I saying that all Asians look similar. This is just a fun article on the times I did a double take because of how similar two or more actors looked.
1. The True Doppelgänger
This is dedicated to actors who not only look almost identical to each other but also have similar mannerisms, body language, expressions, and just overall general vibes.
2. The Brother from Another Mother
This is dedicated to actors who look similar enough to be mistaken for siblings, but might not have the same facial expressions and/or general mannerisms/vibes.
3. How Many Doppelgängers Can One Man Have
4. Blink and You Might Miss It
This category is dedicated to those who occasionally give off a similar overall vibe but are distinct enough that it would be hard to confuse them.
5. How is He Not His Father
The entire time I was watching King the Land, I kept thinking about how similar Son Byung Ho looked to Ethan Juan!

Son Byung Ho | Ethan Juan |
Because the list was getting too long, I left out pairs that have been mentioned in similar articles before such as:
- Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin
- Park Shin Hye and Ma Meng Wei
- Park Bo Gum and Wei Zhe Ming
Do you agree with my selection? What other actors could you mistake for each other?
