So, it's been a while since I've done one of these. I have a fresh batch of KDramas that would make great video games. Make sure to check out the previous instalments of this series here and here. These entries are in no particular order, so without any further ado, here are some more video game-worthy KDramas.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

(open-world action RPG)

While everyone else wants to forget the Fable series, I don't. Fable III, for as terrible as it is, is one of my favourite games. It's a guilty pleasure of sorts. This in mind, I think Bong Soon's Bbongssuni character would translate very well into a Fable-esque game. The art style of Bbongssuni reminds me a lot of the Fable series, and who wouldn't want to play as her? As we watch Bong Soon design her characters, we see Bbongssuni given lots of different weapons, like various pistols and hammers, which could easily fit into an open-world RPG. I can even imagine the story of the SWDBS drama adapted into an RPG, with Bbongssuni hammering through enemies to save Prince Min Min.

Circle

(action adventure / interactive drama)

I recently saw gameplay for a game called Detroit: Become Human. As I watched, I was reminded of the drama Circle (which I recently reviewed in depth here). I knew right away that Circle had to be on this list. Since past and present are so important to Circle, I think it would be a ton of fun to play as Woo Jin in 2017, and then see the effects of your choices in 2037 as you play as Joon Hyuk. Plus, the aliens/memories/future shenanigans would be a blast to play through rather than just watching them. You would also have quick-time-events and choices to make in conversation, but with a story as engaging and creative as the one in Circle, it wouldn't even be a little boring, I'm sure.

Suspicious Partner

(courtroom drama/visual novel adventure)

Objection! Just kidding.

I'm not even a little creative, and I'll own up to that. In my defense, I think it only makes sense that this show should be made into something like the Ace Attorney series. It would probably be a clone since I don't know how you could make a courtroom drama that won't end up being compared to Ace Attorney, but even if it was a ripoff, it would be fun. Playing as Eun Bong Hee, you would puzzle through different court cases with the help of your trusty boyfriend sidekick, Noh Ji Wook. Bong Hee is a really charming character, as are Ji Wook and Eun Hyuk, so I can see a game based around this show being a really good time.

The K2

(action stealth)

I really want to play as Jae Ha. He seems like he would make the perfect video game hero if done correctly. I can see it now: challenging, satisfying gunplay and hand-to-hand combat, gorgeous motion-capture cutscenes, and maybe even dynamic difficulty. A video game adaptation would allow for revisions to the story, such as focusing more on Yoo Jin and Jae Ha's relationship while also strengthening Anna and Jae Ha as characters. I think a game would be an excellent opportunity to expand upon and improve on the already decent The K2.

Missing Noir M

(action adventure)

Missing Noir M features a lot of parts where the main characters have to interrogate various suspects, grilling them for answers until they spill their guts and incriminate themselves or their friends. This made me think of the game L.A. Noire (and not because the drama and the game share a word). Not only did the interrogations make me think of L.A. Noire, but the gunfights did, too. So, I think Missing Noir M would serve well as an action adventure game, with car chases and gunplay mixed in with interrogations and psychology. I would love to play as Soo Hyun. He was a really interesting character, and I would really like the chance to work with Jin and Detective Oh. There would need to be new cases made for the game, but with Missing Noir M flair (as in, things might get a little ridiculous here and there). This show would suit this style of game very well, and I would love to play it.

Bonus:

Coffee Prince

(Coffee House Sim)

My mouth is watering at the thought of this one. Imagine with me, would you? It would be everything that makes Coffee Prince great... minus all of the silly story and emotional slop. Why cry over Han Gyeol's identity crisis when you could press and hold A to grind some coffee beans? Why experience the outpouring (pun intended) of emotion from Eun Chan and Han Gyeol's first real kiss when you could boil water with the left shoulder button? Honestly, they could just leave the Prince out of the title and call it Coffee. Yum.

jk i love this show a lot don't hate me

As always, I had a lot of fun putting this article together. Do you agree with my list? Are there KDramas you wish were games? Let me know in the comments below!
