While watching a drama it may often happen that you fall in love with the protagonists' outfits, with their style. Especially in Korea, it is well known, dramas are used as a privileged way to advertise the upcoming trends in terms of fashion.

Despite this, there are some drama characters that every day commit a crime against good taste, that make you remain in shock and pain for entire episode and to whom you'd like to scream “What are you wearing?!”
So here is a small guide with a few simple rules to follow in order to save Good Taste and breathe a sigh of relief to the poor viewers.

-Male Edition-

1) Questionable Hairstyles

This crime is not frequently committed, but it is worth mentioning that wearing weird stuff on your head is not the best way to be taken seriously. Jeremy (You're Beautiful) knows something about that. In fact, with that hair worn in plaits or in horns (?) or in weird apple-like tails (seriously, I don't even know how to call that odd stuff!), he remains unquestionably cute and adorable, but he looks more like a character from an anime than a real person.

2) Clothes and Accessories for Women

I know that nowadays wearing bags is in fashion for men too and I understand that they're undoubtedly more comfortable than to put everything in your pocket, but if you buy too big or too colorful a bag the female audience might envy them. This is the case of Seo Jun (Love Rain) or Jin Ho (Personal Taste), who always wear maxi bags, jackets and coats a size smaller and foulards. Well, you're free to do so, but at your own risk, and do not complain then if you're mistaken for being gay.

3) Tracksuits

It's not a crime to wear tracksuits and I'm not suggesting playing sports and going for a run with jacket and tie on, but it seems that in Dramaland there exist some rather awkward tracksuits. I only have to say Secret Garden and I've already said it all. Besides the tracksuit jewels of Kim Joo Won (Secret Garden), that have made history in dramas, one should, however, be reminded of the ones that Lee Kak, Woo Yong Sul, Song Man Bo and Do Chi San wear in Rooftop Prince. Thanks to them our heroes earned nicknames such as “traffic lights” and “Joseon power rangers” ... and with good reason.

4) Monochrome clothes

Our beloved Joseon power rangers committed a lot of crimes against good taste, and they took some time to reach a decorous style. In addition to wearing, as we mentioned before, the monochrome tracksuits, they look for clothes in garbage cans and they come out, once again, with monochrome outfits (I'm referring in particular to Lee Kak's total denim style). Not yet satisfied they have the courage to buy, near the end of their stay in the XXI century, identical brightly colored t-shirts... Well, if they had had in their hands this guide when just arrived, this probably would not have been so disastrous...

5) Extremely Low-Cut Shirts

V-neck is not forbidden, you just have to wear it with some moderation.
We can understand the good intentions of costume designers, who want to show us the perfect bodies of the actors, but certain necklines are so excessive they seem to be chosen from a girl's wardrobe. Moreover this is a low method to make us like the drama. I mean, don't worry, our actors, just to name a few - Jang Geun Suk as Hwang Tae Kyung (You're Beautiful) and Rain as Lee Young Jae (Full House) - are hot EVEN with some clothes on… well, as long as they respect the previous rules!
