Both shows have very memorable characters and love stories with amazing acting. Both shows have hilariously quirky characters who are housemates, male leads with severe PTSD who find healing through his housemates and especially the female leads. Both couples have amazing chemistry in their own way though IOTL is much more mature and 30b17 is much more innocent due to their emotional ages. Both shows openly talk about going to seek psychiatric help which is very tabooed or rarely shown or talked about in Korean or Asian shows at the time of their airing.

Both series address child abuse, domestic violence and childhood traumas, as well as therapy and healing. The Female Lead of CON and the Male Lead of IOTL have similar mental issues.

There are shocking plot twists in both series. However, CON is a pretty dark psychologic thriller, while IOTL has romance, many light-hearted and funny moments in it.

Hospital ER backdrop in EMERGENCY COUPLE. Mental Hospital backdrop in "IT'S OKAY, THAT'S LOVE." In both, the couples start out with a rocky relationship. In both, the romantic history between some of the characters adds to the interest of how characters relate during the drama. It's Okay, That's Love seems to be More Serious Drama with Comedy and Emergency Couple seems to be more Comedy with serious.. Both succeed at being respectful of the the serious material, while still delivering some fun comedic scenes.

Both dramas deal with the topic of relationships, love and sex in a more realistic and mature manner. They both feature couples that deviate from what is considered "traditional" in Korean culture, and explore how the characters love each other despite each others flaws.

Unlike "It's Okay, That's Love" however, "The Lover" is more comedy than it is drama (sex jokes everywhere). While it does hit some serious notes, it splits it's attention between 4 couples and it's emotional tone overall is not as deep as IOTL.

-Similar psychological twists. This is mostly where the similarities lie, and why I love these so much... they are what makes the dramas so GOOD!!
-The Light In Your Eyes is much darker, starts off happy.
-Its Okay, That's Love is fluffier, happier and overall much more of a crowd-pleaser, TLIYE is like marmite-you love it, or you hate it.
-Can't remember for TLIYE, but IOTL has a great strong female lead.
