We Best Love: Forever the First (2021)

So the average for this one was 8.75 stars out of 10 stars, and I rounded it down to 8.5 stars out of 10. This was fun, cute, and short, but still filled with action and plot. It's getting late, so I won't knock out season 2 right now. Yeah.

I am going by the ratings of the episodes because I posted nothing on this on my instagram close friends. I think two things happened, and they were both songs over scenes. Gallowdance by Lebanon Hanover, when Shu yi, zhou shu yi in the street, was trying to drown himself. Those were the vibes, and I still don't know why. And then TV by Billie Eilish, Shu Yi was pretending to be happy for his friends when they figured out they liked each other, and he was undermining his own feelings to see them happy. That was the vibe of the first episode. Shu Yi was an annoying fucker, but I could get behind his actions.

Shu yi and Gao Shi De (using the full government name for him, lol) started being lovey-dovey unientially with their actions and just the way they were so close to each other all of a sudden. I don't think we knew that Gao Shi De liked Shu Yi. Or we probably did, and my dumb ass didn't read the description, but the way he was just acting, I knew it was love at first sight from when they were younger.

"It's an enemies to lovers kind of thing, but I've been in love with you since you helped me in fifth grade." That's my quote. The vibes were slow, but we really got to know our characters more, and that's always fun. I love these two so much.

Shu yi started to fall for Gao Shi De. He fell flat on his face in love. I love to see characters actually fall for each other and not say, Oh my god, I like you because you like me. It's that, but he was in denial at first, and then he realized how he actually felt, and I think that was cute.

They came around in the end and had their little cute moments, and then bros was like, I've got to go to America, and then bro was like, No way, and then bro went yes way. Exactly how that happened actually I am going to watch season 2 tomorrow if I wake up. This was cute, and I can get behind the hype it has. I would recommend it. Okay bye!

Une belle découverte avec des points forts et des points faibles.

Je recommande vivement ce drama! Excellent choix d'acteurs, OST parfait, excellente distribution, une alchimie époustouflante avec des baisers à couper le souffle, "Sam" l'homme à la voix la plus sexy. et "Yu" qui incorpore des mots japonais ici et là, C'est juste adorable. alors que c'est son premier introduction dans l'industrie.

Dans cette saison, il faut l'avouer le couple principal est à l'honneur. de coup je vais divisé cette critique en deux parties (des points forts et des points faibles)

Points forts

Au début de l'histoire, on a deux étudiants prodiges l'un est riche mais toujours deuxième et l'autre modeste mais toujours premier, uniquement pour qu'il reste dans le viseur de son bien-aimé, et ce qui a commencé comme du chantage s'est finalement transformé en une amitié entre "Shu Yi"et son rival "Shi de" secrètement amoureux de lui depuis le primaire. J'ai trop apprécié l'attachement sentimental de "Shi De" a l'égard de "Shu Yi" comme un trésor qu'il ne peut pas perdre, comme si ça vie en dépendait, Malgré la nonchalance de se dernier au premier a bord.

J'ai trop chéri ses moments de tendresse, ou même on écoutant l'échec sentimentale de "Shu Yi", "Shi de" était ravi, pour lui c'est de temps très chèrement partagé avec son bien-aimé, j'étais très touchée lors des interventions de ce dernier pour sauver "Shu Yi" des situations blessante malgré ses sentiments envers lui, il était d'accord avec cela, tant qu'il pouvait être autour de son bien aimé, Cela lui suffisait. pour moi c'était euphorique.

Finalement, "Shu Yi" découvre les sentiments de "Shi De" et malgré qu'il le rejette, et commence à sortir avec une fille (ce qui me rappelle la BL Tharntype), "Shi De" accepte le rejet et disparaît de son viseur. c'est la que "Shu Yi" commence à ressentir le vide, puis les mêmes sentiments pour "Shi De", ce qui a abouti à une confession mignonne et un baiser farouche tellement attendu.

l'alchimie entre les deux acteurs principaux était excellente même fantastique, décomplexé lors des scènes osées, largement convaincant, des raisons suffisant pour regarder le show. "Sam" est un acteur expérimenté et pro. Il endosse parfaitement son personnage calme et observateur, délivre très bien les émotions et les expressions du visage et en plus, il est très beau et sa voix est absolument magnifique. "Yu" est un chanteur japonais mais nouveau dans cette industrie, chose impossible à découvrir à cause de son talent. Il livre parfaitement chaque émotion et chaque côté de son personnage, bien mieux que beaucoup d'acteurs expérimentés. son personnage est assez complexe car il doit dégagé des crises de colère, frustration, bonheur, tristesse, un tempérament maussade mais puissant, des sentiments mitigés, se battre avec son identité sexuelle et osée des moments intimes avec son co-star, chose gênant pour un acteur novice dans cette industrie. De plus, son personnage dans la série est également moitié Japonais/taïwanais, donc le mélange parfois de la langue japonaise et mandarin donne un charme et une crédibilité absolue au personnage de "Shu Yi" et ses origines Mixte. C'est tellement rafraîchissant puisque "Yu"parle les deux langues dans la vraie vie.

La relation entre "Shi De" et sa mère était très très cool, j'ai trop adoré.

La voix de "kelly Cheng" pour moi était une découverte, j'ai adoré sa chanson " Will You Be My Love ", ça me rappelle une ère de Mariah carey. Même chose pour "Alex chou" et sa chanson "Hard To Let Go" qui me rappelle les soaps opéras américains (oui je ne suis pas jeune). J'ai adoré aussi la voix de "YU" et sa chanson principale dans la série de "Blue Lover" qui me rappelle les séries coréennes classiques.

Points faibles.
la série aurait pu être mieux approfondi que ça. Lors du cinquième épisode j'étais confuse, lorsqu'il s'agit des sentiments de protagoniste principal "Shi De", sa situation doit forcément attiser la sympathie du public surtout lorsqu'il se fait rejeter par "Shu Yi", mais lorsqu'il s'agit des mêmes sentiments de son ami "Zhe Yu" a son égard, la réplique de "Shi De" était qu'il ne faut pas imposer ses sentiments (sérieux), Certe "Shi De" est follement amoureux de "Shu Yi" depuis des années, et n'impose pas ses sentiments même après s'être fait rejeté. Mais c'est une raison de plus pour qu'il soit gentille avec son ami, une réplique pareille venant d'un homme qui traverse le chagrin de l'amour et l'amertume du rejet, est tellement illogique même bizarre, un peu de sympathie aurait été la bienvenue.

L'histoire racontée était parfaite. mais au sujet de l'intrigue il n'y avait pas de suspense, ni d'accroche lors de chaque fin d'épisode qui pousse le téléspectateur a consommé davantage le show, sauf s'il est fan de BL ou pour les beaux yeux des protagonistes. Pour moi j'ai ressenti parfois un vide dans la suite des événements, peu de moments intiment pour des personnes amoureuses, ou l'un d'eux est depuis des années. "Shu Yi" n'est pas gay et pourtant le scénariste n'approfondit pas sa lutte a l'encontre de son nouveau statut sexuel, ou ses sentiments pour "Shi De". Il est littéralement sorti de nulle part et ne lui a vraiment pas laissé beaucoup de temps pour le traiter. Si le scénariste avait bien structuré les événements en parallèle avec le temps accordé, il aurait pu traiter la crise d'identité sexuelle de "Shu Yi" et ses sentiments.

6 épisodes dans cette saison ayant 20 a 30 minutes chacun c'est largement suffisant lorsqu'on sait qu'il y des web drama de 10 minutes a donné des frissons (comme Where Your Eyes Linger). Sincèrement je trouve qu'ils ont utilisé le temps donné de manière inefficace ce qui gêne le rythme de la série.

le cliché absolu dans toutes les séries où l'un des protagonistes principaux tombe amoureux depuis l'enfance (ici le primaire), J'ai vraiment du mal avec ses clichés épuisant à mourir, où on saute a l'amour romantique entre deux hommes uniquement par ce que l'un d'eux a été gentil avec l'autre au lieu de traduire ça gentillesse comme une amitié. (l'amitié entre hommes ça existe nom de dieu).

les personnages secondaires, Je n'ai pas de tout compris le personnage de docteur (Pei Shou Yi) ni son évolution dans l'histoire, ni même son air triste comme s'il a souffert d'une séparation sentimentale auparavant, développement délaissé par le scénariste. même chose pour "Shi Zhe Yu" et "Liu Bing Wei" c'est vraiment un gâchis pour des protagonistes secondaires censés épaulés nos tourtereaux et ainsi développés leur histoire d'amour chose complètement négligé même non traité dans cette saison.

J'espère vraiment que la deuxième saison où la troisième saison déjà approuvée serait mieux. Je ne parlerai pas ici de l'épisode spécial. Je vais le garder pour ma critique de la saison deux car il le relie.

A sweet love story about 2 sweet boys

I really wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. It was a bit confusing in the beginning, but I guess love is like that too. I don't think the two main leads were ever enemies, they were more so constants in each others lives, just observing each other from a distance, until it was the right time for their lives to intertwine together. I thought that their romance was very subtle and heartwarming. I liked how everyone was pretty open-minded in this drama, and were just concerned with the happiness of their friends, Zhou Shu Yi & Gao Shi De. what I appreciated the most was how these boys could just be themselves, and discover what they're feeling without anyone pressuring them or belittling their feelings. 8/10 I would definitely recommend this to my friends.

Great Qualities

So this is another strong Taiwanese BL series not at but seriously close to the history series in overall quality. The cast is all wonderful including the female cast which are usually embarrassingly annoying in most other BL's.
I wish they would have acknowledged the time as adults when Shu Yi comforted Gao when his dad left. I also think the idea of Shu Yi being Gao's servant was a bit weird but entertaining none the less. Sometimes the story line went off track with the leads but didn't spend enough time on the secondary characters. Especially with Pie and Liu. The last little issue is with the end. Well, It was a little issue that becomes a big issue once the 1st episodes of season 2 is watched. I'm on episode 2 of season 2 and I have major issues so far. I hope that they can somehow draw me back in because as of now I'm emotionally out of season2.... and it has also affected season one for me. So be form warned about season 2.

On point

The story, the casting, the acting, the chemistry - everything was just on point.
This drama is super easy to watch and you WILL want more on the next episode. The chemistry between the actors is what really kept me going, and I loved how natural they were all the time. The little details like the language really made the story better. Just watch it.

A must watch

*happy ending*

No words can describe how much I am amazed by this show. Yu's acting is the best in this series. I keep screaming whenever I hear him speak Nihonggo only to discover that they casted a Japanese-taiwanese actor. I really felt and seen how he slowly fell in love with Shi de and boy he falls hard! I really like that Shu yi is very upfront of his feelings to Shi de once he fell in love. He is very straightforward and very cute!

Shi de on the other hand is very crafty. Very reminiscent of my younger self. Anything to get that chance! Hahaha.

I hope they could've increased the moments where they ended up together. But overall the story flowed really smoothly, and it leaves a feeling in your heart of how you wanted to finally fall in love.

Love love love this series soo much that I wanted it to be longer.

An Enemy To Lovers Must Watch

Oh, let me rave about "We Best Love"! It's a classic boys' love story in the truest sense. He is willing to do anything just to be a part of Shu Yi's life, even if it means being just an enemy in Shu Yi's eyes. One of the best out there

If you're thinking whether to watch it: watch it. I think its really one of the better BL dramas to be released. The quality and production beats almost all BLs.

Gonna rate this high bc this is an incredible quality of bl drama. I loved the acting and most of the story and they achieved a lot within the few episodes. But I didn't like the lowkey stalkerishness fo Gao Shide (the whole haunted house scene) but still okay I think, sort of toes the line b/w normal and creepy. Also disliked the side couple: seemed forced and unnecessary (common problem among BLs)

A Romance Full of Love and Heart

This series pretty much sealed the deal for me that anything with Lin Pei Yu's name on it means God-tier work of art. No. 1 for You (2021) is a more light-hearted series compared to its sequel, Fighting Mr. 2nd (2021), as it rightly captures the audiences' attention by sucking you in with its bright colours and youthful tenacity of our male leads. A well thought out story that was built to provide a sequel so you may anticipate what comes next for our beautiful boys. Enjoy in the moment of youth would be a message this series tries to portray along with its endearing romance. Also, Yu's mandarin definitely adds in the kawaii factor. Boy can't even swim and yet he's acting as a swimmer! Now that's professionalism.
