Wen Xiang Tan An Lu (2023)

Both are Republican Era mystery dramas with a policeman and a girl with an unusually strong sense of smell working together to solve cases.

- Both took place in Shanghai during the Chinese Republic era.
- Strong/Smart ML+FL who solve many cases together which lead to the bigger case from the past
- Enough romance & good chemistry between the leads
- The mood & tone of both drama are not too dark

Similarities:
- Genius/Smart ML+FL
- Many cases to solve leading to the big underlying cases/mysteries from the past
- Great investigation/detective drama
- Slight romance in both
- Good bromance/teamwork

Differences:
- Some supernatural in TOS with my good our FL can detect smell
- TOS took place in Republican era + varieties of murder cases vs TLR is modern and deals with murders cases that involved the locked room

Similarities:
- Strong + Smart MLs…Good bromance/teamwork (more bromance in UTS)
- Many cases to solve leading to the big underlying cases/mysteries from the past
- Great investigation/detective drama

Differences:
- Chinese Republic Era vs UTS is modern
- No romance in UTS
- UTS ML has extraordinary “sketching” ability vs it’s the FL in TOS who has a good scent detecting skill

Both are a Republican Era setting in which the intelligent FL teams with the detective ML in order to solve a series of connected murders with a recurring symbol/style left behind at each crime.
