short but cute!!

Go for it. You will fall in love.

I fell in love. Every short japanese series is always a masterpiece. This one hits different. I don't know why this felt nostalgic to me although i never had a friend, crush or a lover. This is surely going in my top 5. I wish they would do another one together. I loved the summer theme.😊💜💜💜💜 . I loved the music. The cast was perfect . I really wish more series like this can be made. This is something i will remember forever. I know this may not be the cup of tea for all but for me its something that gave me happiness.

Worth every second.

Though Japanese BLs (and J-Dramas in general) tend to be on the shorter end watch-time wise, this drama is a great example as to why that is. You don't need that much time or endless drama and build-up to tell a good story.

Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai managed to deliver something that felt real. It managed to deliver a story that you could easily see in your daily life, yet still keep your attention. It has lovable characters all around (especially the teacher side couple), and delivers a sense of nostalgia and optimism that hits at all the right spots in the brain.

Give it a try. Unless you desire in-your-face romance, this drama should not disappoint.

Sweet, but empty

When it comes to japanese and korean BLs, I often tend to think they are too ambitious for the amount of screentime they have. Not this one.

Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai lasts roughly 80 minutes, but presents a story that could have been done in less than half of that. Its premise is very generic for a BL, and there's nothing much to help the series stand out. There's nothing really memorable about it. Though it's not a huge time investment, i feel like it wasn't worth my time.

I don't have much to complain about when it comes to music, visuals, or acting. Everything is on very decent level. I just can't help but wonder... why? What were the creators trying to make out of this? One thing this show does really well, and that's being vague about stuff without it being infuriating. It's very soft, up to a point of being emotionless. If you just want to watch something that doesn't make you feel or think anything strong, this is it. A show for a lazy day. Otherwise, I don't recommend this to anyone who's short on time and/or wants to feel invested in the story.

To cherish; thank you for this drama!

So where to begin? I began watching this at 3 AM because of insomnia and my god did I find a gem. This series will hold a very special place in my heart, it feels familiar and raw. From the first episode, I was drawn in by the two leads who intrigued me. Both of them are very warm characters. I wish I were better with words to describe how I really feel about this beautiful series but I'm really unable to express it with only words. I wish there was a better word than love... I'm obsessed. I like the background characters, they added to story. By showing how unrequited love looked like (and showing that it definitely wasn't what was between Yuma and Sakura) and showing another couple giving advice to the two boys who are in love. Despite it's short length, this series has really left an impact on me and I hope others feel the same way. The smiles and the friendship in this is just so great to watch, it really makes someone feel alive. I'm especially fond of J-BLs as they feel warm like summer and really are a breath of fresh air... this DID NOT disappoint. The story and it's flow was especially lovely to me, I don't bother to read the other comments but please give this series a try. It really short and interesting, with fun characters and aesthetic cinematography.
Kudos to the cast who did great performances for their characters! The two leads have great chemistry and their 12 years of friendship felt real. These are new faces (for me) that I'll look forward and support with their future projects! If we were to see more of these characters and this story, I'd like to see more of their lives without one another (not broken up but what they do when their not together or at school, like family life.) Also, I'd like to see their special ways of cherishing one another. To cherish, to love, to protect. Like Norio and Yuma wanted to do for their lovers when they had fallen down. Well, I surely will cherish this series and their short love story. As always, thank you to the cast and crew who made this series possible. It's just what I needed and wanted to watch during this hot summer that is amidst me. As Sakura said, "Let's all keep on cherishing those that we treasure in life." I hope this wholesome love story will bring a smile to your face, or even make you feel a little less empty. Because it certainly did that much for me.

Good!

I don't know what was holding me back from watching this mini-love story in 2022, but I've come to my senses and I've finally given this 80-ish mins series a shot. I Want to See Only You is a quaint watch, but rather a good one with some pretty detailed characters and an overall better arch than others told in less than 2 hours.

Let's Dive In.

I think I held myself back from watching this because it looks sad (from the title poster). So I automatically kind of kept it on the back burner, but if that's why you're holding yourself off from this, then don't -- it's exactly the opposite.

What makes this series so good is the very instinctively different personalities of the two main characters. Yuma is very childlike and outgoing, which is why it's kind of hard to see him potentially getting into a relationship cause it seems he's not yet mature enough for one. And then we have Sakura who's very poised and obedient, who likes being alone and plays sad piano music. That's where they grow a lot together though because Yuma is very childish, but when with Sakura he's somewhat calm and compassionate, yet, if Yuma is going crazy, then Sakura is blessed to be in his presence, and takes his energy and runs with it. It's quite an endearing dynamic, and you fall for it instantly.

First loves, especially with your childhood best friend is a complicated one, and this series exclaims that perfectly. Through eye contact, through between-the-line dialogue, and very tentative and passionate (although very chaste) kisses. And yay for kisses (thank you Japan!). This is a very accurate depiction of high school and being in love and being gay at that. *chef's kiss*

Norio was a very precious side character, and I felt very bad for him and his crush on Riko. I wished they would've ended up together too, but I'm not here for the hets, so it's okay. I didn't care much for the teachers' relationship, but I thought the matching outfits were cute.

Ratings:

Story: 8.5/10 - A little too short, but everything flows nicely for its time frame. It's a pretty simplistic story with nothing crazy or deep. Just a nice watch about high schoolers realizing they're in love.

Acting: 8.5/10 - It was nice! I think Sakura's character had a hard time trying to cry (or at least it looked like he was trying) but other than that, it was good.

Music: 7/10 - the piano was nice.

Recommendation Value: 8/10 - Highly recommended, but it's a bit short, so it's not the very first thing I'd recommend to someone unless they wanted something quick and easy.

I know I talk very highly of this series, but I think an 8 with suffice. Just because it's not something that will be very memorable from now until the end of the year. I'll most likely forget I watched it in a couple of months. But it's cute, it's lighthearted, has some really good camerawork, and some adorable characters. So please watch.

A True fealing of love in motion

It's beautiful, cinematic and absolutely gorgeous. This was written so beautifully, I can't even express the amount of peace and rest I feel after watching 😭

Ive seen comments saying it's not a real " BL " because it's doesn't go about " love " like other BL's do. But it reminds me of the love between Anne and Gilbert in Anne of Green Gables / Anne with and "E". The purest form of love one that is expressed through time, and conversation. We're so used to rushed, physical love alot don't realize how we are deprived of the trully emotional kind.

Our sweet boys are juniors going into senior year in a quiet beach town. ( I assume by surroundings ) it's natural and calm. Yuma and Sakura finding understanding what their relationship is. Of understanding themselves in new ways. It's the type of love that lasts a lifetime because it embodies a deep Friendship and trust. It's pure and I would love to see their story grow 🥺🥺

( A Co-Review between my Brother and I )

Heartfelt, gentle and genuine

Love doesn’t change anything and yet the whole world is transformed when the love you give is returned.

Beauty lies in the simplest things. It’s usually overlooked or worse ignored. But when you start seeing it, really see it, it won’t be because the world has changed, it will be because the person you cherish will have opened your eyes to it. The world is unchanging in its essence, it’s our heart that learns and starts to see things differently.

The absurdity of life doesn’t seem too insuperable when that life is lived while having the well-beings of others in mind.

This series embodies those little truths. It shows how genuine love is, how beautiful and simple it is. It tells you to live truly and to listen to your feelings. It highlights how caring is the most beautiful love language.

Oh, this was wonderful. Short and sweet and, well, wonderful. A tale of two best friends since childhood who fall in love. And pretty much nothing changes. It's a tale about how amazing it is when your partner is also your best friend.

I loved all the pairings in this drama, the main one, Sakura & Yuma, but also the het pairings, their classmates' and the teachers'! Gosh, I loved the teachers, they were just the right amount of quirky without feeling like clowns. And it was so touching how much affection they had for their students - and vice versa! The students poked fun at them, sure, but they honestly liked and admired their teachers.

My main draw, of course, were Sakura and Yuma, their relationship, their personalities, how perfectly they clicked, how well they knew each other, how easily they slipped into being a couple. I think my favorite moment was Yuma's "I will always cherish you" campfire confession. That was just... perfect.

Overall, short and sweet and funny, perfect for curing blue moods.

My only complaint was that it was too short.

I love how for the first two episodes Sakura was on mission to send Yuma into a panic, lul him into a false sense of security and then blow his mind once again😭

This was adorable and way too short. I loved all the characters & the story was simple & pleasant to follow

I loved the dynamic between the chaotic & mischief yet sincere Yuma & the serious & calm yet also surprisingly mischief Sakura.
The teachers were adorable & I enjoyed their dynamic as a couple as well.

Japan really has truly perfected it's fluff shows😚👌🏾

Sweet and simple teen love story

Kimi no koto dake mite itai is a simple story between Yuma and Sakura. They have been childhood friends and are still super close. Over the years, Sakura has developed a crush on Yuma. Yuma says he wants a cool summer. a moment that goes Boom! Sakura's answer to that is to finally confess. Surprisingly, his feelings are returned quickly, as Yuma just gets shy then realizes how much he loves Sakura as well.

The story is extremely simple, but I believe it is meant to be simple. There are only 6 characters of interest and the entire thing lasts around 80 minutes. A simple couple of friends who develop feelings over another, and the only thing they want in the future is to make sure that they treasure one another. This is what life should be. To only want to see and love one another. No thoughts about society or the future. No conflicts. Just simple love. That being said, since there is little attachment to the characters, I am giving the story an 8. It is definitely a recommended drama but it won't change your world. Just watch, enjoy, and let the stress of life leave your thoughts.
