Stalker (2022)

Its a great series, but a bit much with over the top dramatics.

Let me start with why this series is so great, one thing is it touches on so many issues that kids, teens, and adults deal with in their life, from weight issues to feeling like an ugly duckling, bullying, and even self-identity. This a truly inspirational series. It has lots of love, laughs, and a great group of friends and support. I love most of the cast and colors and clothes. My favorite couple is Sky and Jao, so great together wish they had more screen time. The actors are great at acting. I really enjoyed all the different personalities and having a lesbian couple, a nonbinary character, and lots of gay and bi guys as some would say straight guys who open their hearts to love instead of gender was so great to see. Absolutely the best couple is Sky and Jao ❤️.
Now for the bad, sadly I am not a fan of the main character of Toh, I found him to be creepy and hate that he is obsessive and stalker, especially with collecting everything that Nuea touches, a bit gross and scary at times, and not in a good way. It's not ok to be that stalker and obsessive over someone, it's not healthy and it's not a positive thing. Its clear Toh has mental issues and this story gave me gross vibe not at all health. He is super naive and immature to be in a relationship. He lacks development and caused me to even skip a few parts that he was in as I found him lacking in showing that he is growing, not a fan of him at all the writers should have done a way better job since the actor is good but the character is horrible. There were a few unfinished stories that made no sense to make and not finish like who was "T" that had a crush on Jao? What happened with Kong ? What happened when Jao met Sky's family? Overall I wish they did a better job of the Toh character as he is horrible finished the other stories.
In the end, the series is very good at hitting a lot of issues in life, and great to see that and the support system they had and friends and couples coming together. I Don't know how people are giving this series 10, there is no way its a 10 but a 5 yes, I gave it a 5 because of the good friendship and 2nd couple Sky and Jao that were great. .

Secretly Crushing On This One

You know the saying, "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? That definitely applies to this drama. I don't think I've ever watched a drama that gave me such conflicting emotions. It is by far the cringiest the drama I have ever watched, the drama that made me talk to my screen the most, and made me suffer the most second hand embarrassment ever. I think I legitimately spent a good half of this drama just hiding my face because I couldn't watch that level of embarrassment unfold in front of me. That being said, this drama also had me in stitches, literally laughing out loud, it made me cry, and underneath all the cringe and embarrassment, is a really beautiful story. In the end, despite my initial uncertainty, I found this drama and its characters have a lot of heart.

The first few episodes were the hardest to get through and where I teetered on whether to keep watching or just drop it. At that point, you haven't really gotten to know the characters yet, so while most of them seem pretty innocuous, Toh comes across as a lot. I understand having a secret crush, I can even kind of understand keeping things associated with your crush though not nearly to the extent he does and definitely not the food items, that was just gross, but his crush went a bit beyond the bounds of comfort me into obsession. I wouldn't call him a stalker as technically the definition of a stalker is someone who harasses another person with unwanted or obsessive attention. In Toh's case, yes, I would say his behavior was obsessive, but he never harassed Nuea or in any way harmed him and Nuea never indicated that the attention was unwanted. Anyway, once I got past those couple of episodes and relationships started developing between Toh and Nuea and Jao and Sky, I became invested.

My absolute favorite thing about this drama though was the way that it broke down society's expectations. Neither Toh or Jao fit society's standards for attractiveness while both Nuea and Sky do. With that in mind, society would not expect them to get together, in fact, as is seen multiple times, society balks at them being together, saying its wrong. Society looks at the surface; beauty and beauty should go together. Nuea and Sky, however, looked under the surface. They saw Toh and Jao for who they were as individuals, not for their looks, and that's what they fell in love with. As someone who doesn't fit society's standards of beauty, I found that powerful. It gives me hope that I can find someone like that someday who will love me exactly as I am. I also loved how neither of them got tired of reminding Toh and Jao that they loved them just as they were. They didn't need to change themselves, they were perfect as is. I also felt like both relationships were good examples of healthy relationships. Nuea and Toh especially had overall good communication. They talked things out like adults for the most part and worked to get past any issues they had. With Sky and Jao, as much as Sky really liked Jao, I appreciated his patience and going at a pace that Jao was comfortable with. To me it showed that he respected his boundaries, especially that scene where they do finally kiss. Sky wanted to kiss him, but he could tell Jao was hesitant and he tells him he can wait. It's not until Jao consents that he kisses him. There's a mutual respect in both relationships that's pretty clear and I just really liked seeing how well it was portrayed.

And that also translated over to characters like Daisy who tried to change himself to be more masculine because he thought that's what Intouch wanted when in fact, Intouch just wanted him to be his badass, feminine self. It also highlighted that changing yourself into someone you're not isn't going to make you happy. Be yourself, there's nothing more beautiful than being confident in your own skin.

The friendship between Toh, Jao, Daisy and Som was a central part of this drama and I loved it. I honestly wish I had friends like that. Their bond is amazing and their unwavering love and support for each other is definitely one of the highlights of this drama. No matter what happens, they are there for each other. I also really liked Nuea and Sky's group of friends. They didn't have quite the same charisma, but they were obviously good people and it was always entertaining when both groups got together.

I absolutely recommend giving this drama a shot. Don't let the cringe and second hand embarrassment factors turn you off. Look past that and focus on the friendships, on the actual story, the characters, it's absolutely worth sticking it out.

GIVE IT A TRY

I am happy that I at least gave it a try and completed the series. However, I thought of dropping it after watching half of the series. Then I read the reviews and thought of giving it a try. I don't regret my decision.
1. cuteness is overloaded in this drama
2. every couple's problems were sorted out perfectly.
3. instead of being in a situation of breaking up, they clear their misunderstandings and argument in a loving manner
4. this drama showed each couple's development perfectly
5. Both the main lead's friends got paired up within their group.
6. instead of misunderstanding and keeping it inside of the third person's behavior, they bravely stood up and handled it
7. the leads didn't misunderstand each other with trivial matters like who will be the husband and wife. Also, the side couple didn't argue over this matter.

What a Gem!!!

This show is amazing i have no words. Don’t be put off by the first couple of episodes and stick with it because you wont regret it. This show touches on everything and love it for doing so.


Gender sensitivity, promoting safe sex (Durex product placement, anyone?), showing different sides of the queer spectrum. Friendships, insecurities all the things that we go through. The one thing I loved most about this GEM of a show is that the ML were complete opposites in terms of societal pairings (Toh the weirdo geeky guy and Nuea the Hunk and popular guy) but this show managed to put them on equal footing while dealing with some of the relationship issues that we all go through.

I also loved how Toh and the gang would often directly interact the with audience by looking directly at us. I think they did that really well.. the older cast played their roles really well … i am just so impressed with this show.

This seemingly little show that came out of nowhere has managed to make us laugh out loud, scream our lungs out, cringe, get the fuzzies, cry and take us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions every single week while managing to highlight all these relevant themes as well. We love you and thank you, SCOY! ❤️❤️❤️. The team truly put a brilliant show together from actors to production to locations.

The main couple sucks

It wasn’t enjoyable all thanks to the obnoxious love story of Toh and Nuea; an obsessed stalker and an uncharismatic campus heartthrob. I swear, I haven’t felt any lingering emotions or sensations in any of their scenes. I was annoyed by them having over-executed sex scenes for a drama that has the high school concept of sweet and puppy-type love. They are the sole reason why the show is not loveable at all.

Nevertheless, the side couple and side characters save the show and have stories that are more fun than the main ones. Sky and Jao's romance was bearable; they started slow yet cute but also ended up having unforgettable scenes as well. My favorite screentime of them was when Sky wasn’t leaving and driving his way back home when the light of Jao’s room was still on. I just loved the simple yet meaningful touch of worry and care. Daisy, Som, and Intouch also add sweetness to the show. I adored their chemistry with each other and were able to make me laugh from time to time.

I know from my heart that I can fully enjoy this show without the existence of the main couple, or just for them being a side character only. It gives me creeps and secondhand embarrassment from all the things that Toh did before they became an official couple with Nuea. It is also obvious that the intimate scenes from this couple are unnecessary and I didn’t feel any spice at all.

Socially awkward, sassy, a nerd..? Here's a drama just for you : )

In BL dramas, nerds, sassies, and socially awkward characters are difficult to watch. Most people skip them by pressing the forward button; but in this drama, they actually take center stage! They're the main characters. To top it off, they are highly sought after by the hot and popular, believe it or not!

Although it's not a real-life situation, I can't help but appreciate the producers' kindness. Sure, they're deserving, but life isn't like that. This is why I recommend this drama ONLY to those who don't see themselves as main characters in real life; you'll find it quite heartwarming.

Added bonus > lots of kissing scenes ; )

I just cant do this anymore.

I´m gonna give my very honest opinion here. Just for other people like me who like to watch good acting drama´s that are believable.
Just dont watch it, dont waste ur time on it, cus it won´t get better. Even when they get together it gets even worse. The relationship is totally a flop. How is this still a 7.5 out of 10. Ive seen way better story´s with less ´stars´, like ´Advanced Bravely´ thats just a beautiful story (plot, actors, acting and believable play) everything is just heartwarming, the only thing is there is no kissing or whatsoever. But jeeezzz its still 10000 times better than this crap.
Toh makes me cringe every second, not ok! Its just a creep, in reality he´d be in a psychiatric klinic (sorry no offens).
You can see that the actors are really doing their best and I even think that their acting is quite good, but the whole story and how they were told to act is awfully bad. I would like to see them all back in a new plot with not as much overacting and a believable story, cus this is just... I´m sorry i can´t. I gave up, and it´s sad to know that i spend so much time on it already. ?
PS: everyone who does like this, don´t be offended, this is how i (dont) like series.

Ppl comparing the ML to Kpop stans : are you good ?
Collecting used items and trying to take pics in the bathroom would be just as bad if it were an idol.

Even when I tried to ignore the whole stalking part I found that there was no chemistry between the actors. The second couple had a lil more I guess.

Ppl giving it the same rating as bad buddy and love mechanics are out of their mind.

Welcome to crippy land !!!

I am sorry I realise I am in the minority here but I don’t remember the last time a show gave me this level of the cripps like this one , the character of toh is absolutely revolting they way he his being portrayed I feel sorry for the actor to play this kind of character with his squcky voice and being this helpless demssel in distress while nuea goes around half naked most of the time now don’t get me wrong I like seeing skin just like the next girl but again there was something about the way it was done the felt really crippy to me which made feel just uncomfortable something I don’t remember ever feeling before while watching a BL show which I love dearly . I really try not to judge shows most of the time but this one just felt wrong and in my opinion the money that was spent on this show could have been spent on a better quality show.

Do It!

This has graduated to my comfort show immediately after the first watch! The show is sickeningly sweet and such a good time. The characters are loud and quirky, the couples are hot, the storyline is extremely cute, what’s not to love!?

NueaToh definitely spiced up the screen with their slow burn. Nuea’s possessiveness was a huge IT factor for me. It was clear that his feelings for Toh were new and sudden. The phone case!! Ugh such a good Easter egg! I couldn’t wait for him to pull back that curtain in Toh’s room. Any doubt of Toh’s feelings should have instantly disappeared ?Toh is a bit obsessive, but who doesn’t like their partner to be a little crazy over them? His mementos were sweet. Honestly his group of friends made this series so wholesome. The care and support they displayed for one another was such a touching sight. ?

SkyJao, the cutest side couple ever!! I loved their story just as much as I loved NueaToh. I love how Sky helped Jao overcome his insecurities. His struggle with body image was all to relatable but Sky helped him to make small changes that allowed him to become more comfortable in his skin. ? We love a supportive hubby! I felt you never could doubt Sky’s attraction to Jao. Sky’s softer approach caused me to be taken by surprise at his more aggressive demeanor in bed. Their heavier scenes left quite the impression ?

10/10, definitely recommend! **Warning: Secondhand embarrassment should be expected, but you’ll quickly get over it ?

Every BL deserves a chance, just not this one...

The headline seems harsh, but once you read this review you will understand what I am talking about.

Characters
This BL was obviously meant to be cute and fluffy, which is the case. But the main character just came off as creepy, stalkerish, and just weird. Nobody wants a main character like that, unless it's a psychological or horror series, maybe. Of course nothing is wrong with having a main character like that, it can be interesting if its written right, but in BL like this it's just weird sorry. And the main character, (Including his friend group.) was extremely cringy. I think they were supposed to be comedic? But instead they were just annoying. I think the only character in this whole BL that wasn't annoying was Kaojao, he was a stereotypical bottom character, but he was more bearable than any of the others. I just felt second-hand embarrassment for all of them.

Acting
I am not hating or saying these people are bad actors, but in this series specifically the acting was terrible, like so bad. Their emotions looked so fake and there was zero chemistry between the couples. I had no compassion or any emotional attachment to any of these characters.

Design
Terrible, the school uniforms were a light blue color, and extremely ugly. I am completely okay with unique school uniforms for any show, but these just looked bad, and I just didn't like the material, but of course that is biased of me, and do prefer just traditional school uniforms.

Appearance
The effects were okay? But I didn't really like how it was so bloomy and light. It looked unrealistic, and it hurt my eyes a bit. I wish the lighting was more natural and tinted if you know what I mean.

Music
Can't really say much on this, because how biased it is, but in my opinion the music was bad.

Story
The story was boring and overused. Cute unpopular boy has a secret crush and obsession on an older popular classmate. I've seen it so many times, and each time it was terrible and badly written. It is like the people that wrote this didn't even try to make something good! It was like they put this whole story together in a day, and reused other things from other BL's. Not to mention the romance was horrible, and so was the ending. The ending was so boring, 14 whole episodes and that is what you came up with? It was so unrealistic as well.

STOP MAKING BL'S THAT SUCK!! People can make great stories with straight couples, they should be able to do this with gay couples too.

Anyways you came to the end of my rant, it is totally okay if you don't agree with me, no hate to the actors or anyone involved, just criticism.
