The Lotus Casebook (2023)

Both contain case-solving, humor, and heartfelt moments, and a grand arc that spans the entire season.

BoT is a modern, supernatural investigative procedural that pushes along the main character arc at a brisk pace. It matches the quality and style of some of the best Hollywood procedural shows in mixing side-splitting absurdist humor, astute social commentary, and heartfelt moments. The show replaces bromance with a more team camaraderie and realistic romance between ML and FL. The engaging and consequential cases and grand story arc culminates in an exciting finale.

The biggest issue is the poor subtitle quality limits the accessibility as much of the hilarity and context of the show may be bungled by subpar translation. Though fluent Chinese speakers will likely enjoy this quirky hidden gem.

Both are solving cases with the same purpose of finding the villain. This is a good drama for those who want less romance but more in-depth solving cases!

Similarities:
-A small group of people band together to bring an end to evil and learn truths about the past and themselves.
-Great martial arts skills.
-Very smart/slightly cheesy ML's in both.
-Both groups solve mysteries and get to the bottom of things.
-Comedy is ever present in both.

Both good bromance between a younger and older character. Mystery, hidden secrets/pasts, solving investigation(s) together. Both have fantasy elements and humor to help soften all the angst!

Both are Wuxia adventures with competing sects and Joseph Zen.

HSDS is more purist Wuxia, with more and better fights. It's serious in tenor and do involve some romantic interests. MLC has a more consistent plot.

Both are bromance investigation genre but one is dystopian world and other is wuxia setting. both have the perfect chemistry between male leads.

O enredo usa técnicas de flashback para revisar experiências de vida da perspectiva da Rainha Wu Zetian. A partir do momento em que entraram no palácio, Wu Zetian e Wei Guifei lutaram entre si e tornaram-se amigos da inocente Princesa Gaoyang, mas na verdade foi apenas um passo na estratégia, tantos anos depois Wu Zetian nunca teria emoções indescritíveis quando relembrando esse evento passado. O enredo da luta no palácio está interligado, mostrando a inteligência e a coragem de Wu Zetian. Os efeitos especiais do jogo, o BGM e o enredo estão intimamente ligados. Mesmo se você escolher a opção errada, haverá uma história para explicar, tornando todo o enredo menos apressado. É um filme raro excelente trabalho

If you enjoy wuxia-setting mystery bromances, look no further. Mysterious Lotus Casebook has more emphasis on the bromance while Ancient Detective has more focused mysteries, but both are visually stunning and thoughtful shows with fleshed out casts and enjoyable writing.

Both are funny shows, avoids gratuitous romance, and have solid plot and action.

I Am Nobody might be the funniest cdrama this year, and if it keeps up the quality, will be one of the top shows of the year. 9+ rating show. I liked MLC, but I'm loving IAN.

A main character hiding a secret regarding his health/life with last wish/goal to find remains/body of beloved family member before it is too late. Excellent bromance. Mystery. Humor. Mains solve series of puzzles/cases that all connect and lead up to end mystery/confrontation. Cornucopia of interesting characters throughout.

Both revolve around a skilled swordsman/woman known to be the best and have their own fighting style.

Both leads want to let go of their past, keep their identity a secret and live a normal life but end up getting involved in the drama to protect the ones around them.

MLC is a bit more light-hearted, comedic and revolves around solving mysteries while RoA has more action, swordplay and martial arts - but both have similar premises

Brilliant male leads using their wits to maneuver hardships in wulin world. Strong support characters.
