Konin Todoke Nihan wo Oshita Dakedesuga (2021)

How did it keep getting WORSE...

This had everything I love in a drama! Enemies to lovers (ish), marriage of convenience, angst, pining, cute leads, cute second leads and forced proximity! How! It takes a real tragedy of writing to combine all of that and create something that I end up disliking so much.

It's not so much that it was bad (I have definitely seen worse...if that's a metric you want to measure it against), but it started off quite promisingly, so when it just ended up getting worse and worse each episode (when usually its the exact opposite), the disappointment hits you really hard. Akiha and Shu were, INDIVIDUALLY, quite interesting characters, but together? Trainwreck. Shu especially. Up until almost the very, absolute last, he was so clueless about his own feelings and repeatedly hurt the FMC over and over again for no reason- unknowingly! After everything Akiha went through, it shocks me that she would even want to give this relationship a serious go, especially with a man like Shu who is so willfully oblivious of everyone around him. They don't make sense at all, which makes it very hard to watch what is essentially a romance drama.

The reason I didn't like the second male lead as a romantic interest was because I never took him seriously. Not once. It wasn't because his character wasn't written as a serious one, but because there is literally NO reason why he likes Akiha. None. She is a stranger who treats him like everyone does, who hangs out with him sometimes and complains about her marriage life. There is nothing. No chemistry, no tension, no interest. The jump from vague interest to love was so jarring.

Speaking of jarring love, Akiha's sudden "I'm in Love (L capital) with Shu" realisation came way too early. All he did was apologize for annoying her with his alarm clocks in the morning and admit to not being a morning person! Is that all it takes? There is, once again, zero actual romance in what is LITERALLY A ROM-COM. FMCs falling in love easily is whatever, I've been in the J-drama watching business for 7-8 years now, I've been the rat, I've eaten the cheese, I know what's up. But THIS is whole 'nother level of "you can't be serious" insta-love. A commitment-phobe falling in love because her fake husband wants her to wake him up? HA. Okay, Ashton Kutcher, now jump out and scream "You've just been PUNKED!" and we can all go home.

The FRIENDZONE is strong with this one.

Like, seriously. Majide yabai.

It's a story which starts strongly as a perpetual FRIENDZONE for the FL (when it's not a Strangerzone), and you might think it's not worth watching because of that.

Yet, I couldn't hell but feel compelled watching the evolution of each character, simply because the story showed how it would really be when people tend not to share what they feel.

It's a story about how love can be born between two people, married or not, but more than anything, it's a story about expressing your feelings and learning to know the other one. It's also about learning to interact with others, and know yourself a bit more.
That, and the ending, were what I really liked.

So if the first episodes are a bit repetitive in their format (FL or ML does stuff, and the ending step is still the friendzone) hang in there, because the portrayal of the characters and the misunderstandings aren't here merely for comedy, but also to punch you in the feels and the face and make you learn yourself some stuff you didn't think about before watching the show.

warning: this is a slow burn
i loved it a lot it was so sweet aaaaaaa
momose and akiha go into an arranged marriage due to their own needs. their rules wre the typical dont fall into love with the other person. however akiha does grow feelings for momose and thus starts the story of the two where smart and wanna be independent akiha tries to win over dense momose's feelings.
the drama started off sweet. the second hand embarassment was real omg momose was so persistent to marry someone. however gradually the story became lighter and took a good pace. honestly a lot of people might mind the slow burn but i didnt hate it. momose 's dense character did make me punch the air tho.
all in all it wasnt a bad one. i was definitely hooked for the first part but it did get kinda boring with all the going back and forth with the feelings. still liked it tho
ps - WHY IS THAT MAN THE SECOND LESD EVERYWHERE AH

Marriage A Roller Coaster Of A Ride.

Eve dough I hate when people are portrait after the age of 30 as naïve and stupid about love but so smart about everything else it make me upset. He was smart enough too think he was in love with his sister in law but not with the girl he was living with or when she confesses her feelings. But over all I like this drama. The FL is strong and independent. She know what she wants and even when she has some set back she dealt with it and move on. ML was cute, but I found him rude. He is so smart but did not take time to think about the other person feelings or what situation would come up if he live with the other person. He lived with his parents and brother he should of known that living with another person and a stranger would be difficult. I like that he opens up to her but does not realize how it affecting him. I do not think marriage is for every one. To some people it gives a false Idea of security and that the partner is taking responsibility. It does not always works that way. Marriage is a roller coaster in your life and you have to put hard work to keep it together. If one partner veers of that roller coaster will crash. if you add children the roller coaster becomes faster and some times more dangerous. My opinion, from my long experience. I did like some of the subject that was brought out in the relationship and the sister and brothers marriage. The actors performance was great.

Contract marriage - not the most interesting I've seen

I like the trope of contract marriages. However, for me, this one left a lot to be desired. I didn't find it that interesting and I couldn't really relate to either of the characters, so it was hard for me to care what happened to them. They were together, then they weren't. There were a lot of ancillary characters that didn't really get fleshed out but served to act as filler. I did like the guy that liked her, and he was good about warning the ML that he'd better step up or he would step in, but that made the misunderstanding more difficult to tolerate. Why can't people just talk to each other?!?! Then, when they did get "back together" she didn't want to re-marry him - that made no sense. A couple of very uncomfortable, open-eyed kisses added to their lack of chemistry. I'm glad there weren't more episodes than there were, I was just anxious to get the whole thing over with.

It made me angry.

The leads enter into a marriage contract, but I was not a fan of how condescending the ML was towards the FL. Unlike most people I didn't have an issue with him liking another woman at the start. I only hated how he treated the FL like she was stupid right from the start.

Then I started to agree with him.

FL causes so many problems for the people around her... but you're still meant to like her because she tries to make up for it... Over the course of the drama most of her issues are caused by her trying to go above and beyond to please the ML or his family but she just ends up cause grief instead.

Then she sulks... she's like "I know I messed up again, but he shouldn't brush me off." Honey... I'd do the same thing.

I hate the fact that she falls for him first for the most superficial reasons.... Complaining that she's being mistreated by the guy but you're getting hurt and jealous within 3 episodes? Please.

Also the misunderstanding at the end was dumb.

A Sweet & Funny J-Drama

ONLY JUST MARRIED (Tonin kodoke ni han wo oshita dake desu ga) is a sweet J-Drama Romcom that was worth the watch. Firstly I must say the male lead definitely under preformed here, in my opinion, and was just a huge let down. I don't really know the actor but he almost sunk this love ship. He was very hard to stand, with a few little instances of being "meh-okay" sprinkled throughout. Maybe it's just me? The female lead, however, (Akiha Ohkado, played by Nana Seino) was awesome, totally lovable and really grows on you though, so she definitely stole the show. She made it worth the watch and made it highly memorable. She's definitely an upcoming name to keep an eye out for in future years. Just loved hero much! So fun, quirky and genuinely down to earth.

Even though the male lead frequently grated on my nerves, the show was quite pleasant besides, with an assortment of interesting side characters as well, a few great settings and some cliché, but still enjoyable sub-plots. Overall, a good watch and pretty enjoyable show, mostly for the female lead's sake. The romance was alright in the end. =)

CLICHÉ CONTRACT RELATIONSHIP TO REAL RELATIONSHIP DRAMA

There are times I enjoy very cliché plots, especially if it’s made very well. Although this is not the best of this type of story I have watched, I can say that it has its good parts.

STORY:
Two people enter a contract relationship for some reason and then realize that they love each other. The plot is actually simple but somehow there are confusing parts. One is the male lead, I don’t think his reason for getting married is as strange as it’s portrayed. I do get his side but what I do not like is how naïve his character is and it’s a little frustrating. Also, there’s too much misunderstandings that the flow of the story seems to focus more on conflicts.

The ending is not my favorite, I feel like it could ended better. Up until the end there’s still lack of communication. It could have been simple and a cute moment but it wasn’t. Also, I feel like the main leads lacked in chemistry which is disappointing because at first I think they have a bit and expected a build-up throughout the story.

ACTING/CAST:
The actors did well (main and supporting), I think that they’ve embodied there character. The male lead being an introvert, very straight to the point person, very naïve (frustrating) who wanted to be married as a camouflage (so he can continue loving someone he cannot love). The female lead who is a warm hearted woman and very passionate in her career.

In terms of supporting characters, I liked that they have a story outside the plot, but for a 10 episode drama I think that some of these story wasn’t executed properly instead they become a distraction. A character I like though is the sister-in-law. I like her at first and then I didn’t and when I got to know her side I understand. I feel like her story and choices would give a lesson to the viewers that sometimes it takes more than love to be somewhere you want in life.

REWATCH VALUE:
The drama has some cute moments and I think that it’s worth a watch. I am glad I watched it and I do recommend it but I don’t think I would rewatch.

amor e outros amores

foi um processo lento para que ambos percebessem o que estavam sentindo, mas isso é porque temos a idéia de que tudo tem que acontecer o mais rápido possível, que se não acontecer de tal maneira, não existe outra alternativa. algumas pessoas desistem rápido demais, cansam antes de entender os próprios sentimentos. particularmente gostei do desenvolvimento. momose passou boa parte acreditando que só tinha um único amor em sua vida, então tudo era uma experiência nova, fiquei feliz pela akiha ter sido compreensiva e ter acolhido os sentimentos dele, e até posso ver algumas pessoas entendendo isso como um ato egoísta, mas não, no amor é assim, não existe padrão, não existe casamento perfeito, não existe ordem correta a se seguir.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLICHE' DRAMA

Please tell me if it is only I who noticed that there is no wedding ceremony on this drama when the story is all about marriage lol. I was wondering if in Japan when they want to marry someone they just have to fill out the contract and stamp on it and there ! They are husband and wife !

Thank fully when I watched it, I was really missing this kind of Cliche' story of a drama and I have chosen to watch a right drama on a right time ! You know just to share I was really planning to watch this one for previous years ago I Knew it would be something that has a predictable story from that time but because I was noticing Kentaro I really want to watch it.
first I like that Kentaro Sakaguchi that is my crush playing the lead like this is the first every drama of him that I watched, I don't usually watch Japaneses Dramas only Korean Dramas and going to Japanese drama like this feels really new to me, Like I found their language cute also, and their gestures, I also learned some of their traditions and daily lives and every thing was really cute !
i watched it for only 2 days and watching like that again is really amazing for me because it means I am really entertained and that the drama is really good ! because you know for someone who is a young adult employed and is busy every day , binge watching is really hard unlike during college and high school days where you can watch a 16 episode drama in one day ! --- so in short this one is good !
Getting Married to keep loving your Sister-in-law is really absurd , but I did not really mind about that because Kentaro is so cutie HAHA lol
I hate Momose san at first because He is so mean to Okado and I also hate that Okado is so weak hearted towards Momose but inspite of it , those moments really made my heart flutter !! like I know how that feels
I hate the influencer who looks like the in law of Momose-san like she is so flirt !
my favorite parts are when Momose asked Okado to wake him up every morning because he is not a morning person, also when Momose found out that Okado has already have enough money to pay her debt and be free from the fake marriage and how Okado kissed Momose .. you know its really funny that Momose san is so innocent that he did not even know that Okado loved him even when she kissed him already those were really cute
I like also the part when Momose san brags Okado on the later part to his subbordinates and office mates of Okado's designs , and on the last part knowing that the husband of Okados idol designer is Momose's Boss ! HAHAHA that was really surprisingly funny.
I thought in my self that Oh Japanese dramas are like this .. and I cannot get over.I just love the progression of their love story , I just love every moments they have specially when Momose used the cat to call Okado to his house , I just can;t contain it ! and now I missed them so much . I am plannin g to rewatch this again next time !

There is no really lesson in this drama but to you know be brave to confess your feelings, also learn to wait , learn to not give up on the person you love for maybe who knows they will change in the way you wanted them to , just don't leave them.
I am glad I watched this drama and before I forgot to mention, I love the OST so so much , like the song has been on my playlist until now ! because of this drama I can't get away from Japanese Dramas now ..
definitely recommended one for my 5 years of being addict on Dramas. i might say I am a pro , hHAHA lol Just kidding !
