Killer Toon (2013)

This movie is unexpected, and that's why this movie is great!
There are so many horror movies that are lacking story, but not this one! It surprised me, kept me on my toes and I kept questioning my self. The story is very well written and not too predictable! I gave it a 9 because there were to many plot twist near the ending, and I would loved it more if it was throughout the whole movie.
You can question yourself if this is really a horror movie, but if you scare me, than to me it's horror and I jumped up one time, so that was enough for me to count this as a horror movie.

The acting was also great! I loved their emotions and some parts were really hard to act, but you can only understand this when you've watched this movie.

The music was also good, it did build up some tension but not to much.
I would rewatch this movie, because it has a good story, and that is what I like. I also recommend this to people who like horror, love plot twist and likes a good story!

AWESOMENESS AWESOME!! Heart...stop it!! That was GOOD!! I don't know where to begin because I am not going to give anything away. I must say, this is not for the faint of heart. Within the first 10 minutes, you'll be jumping out your skin. As I was watching it, it reminded me so much of Silent Hill (no, I never finished that) but story was reminiscent of it. Lee Si Young was AWESOME in this role as Ji Hyun. I already have mad respect for her but now..She will creep up as being one of my top 10 favorite actresses. Uhm Ki Joon as the Det. Ki Cheol was so brass as the cop who basically continued my negative opinion on Korean police. But his acting was definitely stellar. Give it up to Hyun Woo as Young Soo. As Ki Cheol partner, he handled the role well. But again, not everyone can watch this. There is some seriously twisted and scary scenes in this. From start to finish, you didn't really know where the story was going to take you but that ending. Loved it! I still have goose bumps!

AWESOME!just finished it.. it´s hard to write this review because i dont wanna write a spoiler. xD so i give you a small "information around this movie"

first i was thinking.. another lame movie "detective searching for the murderer", but it was in many ways so different. The Cartoon-concept was so refreshing and also the plot. -so creepy and shocking!

This movie have so many twists and that´s why it was never boring . If you think, it couldn't get worser.. than happens a new creepy scene. In some situations I was really scared and that rarely happens (I´m a addicted to horrormovies xD)

definitely a MUST-watch for horror fans.

try it you will not regret it :D I´m sure :)

I felt that the earlier parts of the movie were great. The starting was really attention-grabbing and intriguing. It makes you want to know what really happened.

However at the later part of the movie, I felt that there were too many things that they wanted to bring forth as a "twist". That made the plot a little complicated, illogical and long-winded. I felt that it was a rather disappointing ending, especially since I was very captivated at the beginning.

I thought that the cast were very good. Lee Si Young and Uhm Ki Joon were really good. Even the supporting actors like Moon Ga Young, Kim Hae Hyo and Kim Ji Young were fantastic! I have no complaints whatsoever for their acting!

Overall, I expected more from this movie and I was disappointed with how they wrapped the story up. However, if you're looking for an uncommon kind of horror movie, maybe you would want to check this out.

The summary was very intriguing. But it hasn't even begun to describe the awesomeness of the film. So now I'm super excited because of this film.
The story is bloody awesome. Really. It was unexpected. I keep mum about the finale. It was incredible. The plot was complex. There were a lot of different ideas in my head and none of them were correct. I just didn't expect. And it was so good. I was excited throughout the whole action. It kept me tense. I won't post spoilers I just say that the plot was fantastic. And liked the fact that I didn't know what to do: to be scared or to laugh, because after scary moments there were some funny jokes.
As for acting... I was in heaven. Truly. First of all a very talented diamond: Uhm Ki Joon. I knew that he plays really well. But in film he was super good. I loved every moment of his acting. How he acted kind of silly and then dead serious. He is just so good. I totally became his fan. So really good. Then Hyun Woo. I remember him from the virus where he was good. But now Oh gosh his acting was superb. I really liked it and his caracter was executed extremely well. It just feels rigt to watch them and to find an enormous pleasure in it.
The music was intense as well. So ten from me.
And finally I want to say about comics. They intertwined so well with te plot so that it was SCARY!
So watch it! It's worth it. For me it absolutely was ^^

very good

I was rather skeptical before watching a movie from 2013 (my experience with older korean dramas has been so-so) and the title sounds cheesy as well(at least in english language). Fortunately, I was proven wrong.

This is a great thriller in vein of "The Call" and "Forgotten". Expect dark and gory scenes, complex psychology and lotsa plot twists. I think too many actually; the final plot twist was really not needed and came out of nowhere. This didn't really spoil the "journey" of getting there, but the ending could have been better.

There are also several plot holes, mostly related to FLs past and behaviors.
The acting also could have been better, while the performance of main characters was very good(especially Uhm Ki Joon, he's so different from his roles in later dramas here!), the side characters were overacted.

For these reasons, I can't rate this drama more than 8/10 overall. Which is still a very good rating and I recommend it.

A movie called "Killer Toon" couldn't possibly be an awesome horror/mystery with extremely well executed creative plot, right? Well...

Pros:
- Super cool concept for a story that is executed very well
- The mystery that unfolds is complex and intriguing
- Even the supernatural elements in the movie are grounded well with a believable setting and cast of characters
- The horrific scenes that take place are quite imaginative, disturbing, and frightening
- The visual presentation shines, by showing the Webtoon aesthetic blended with reality

Cons:
- Yes, the English title "Killer Toon" admittedly sounds cheesy
- One little aspect of the protagonist's pathology isn't very well explained - While the detective characters are pretty well done, one pivotal situation near the end happens out of nowhere, with little reason behind it

Final thoughts - WOW! I thought the plot summary sounded cool, after reading recommendations from another movie I enjoyed [Psychometry].

I think I like this just as much, but in different ways! This is one of those movies where it is impossible to look away, because it captures every bit of your attention. Absolutely check it out!
