Good Enough
Korean Drama "Semantic Error" is a BL college drama. The drama, being a light web series, has few episodes and thus, it doesn't have a lot of time to have a proper development. And yet, the first part of the story is pretty neat and enjoyable, with the dynamics of the main couple being on point and enjoyable. The rest of the characters were interesting as well, apart from that girl friend of the male lead's who was annoying and insufferable, and the definition of a bad friend. The other female lead, on the other hand, was adorable.
Again, the relationship and the chemistry between the main leads is the main entertainment factor, as well as the reason of this dramas success. Other than that, the story is pretty basic and rushed.
The performances, finally, were nice by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, three and a half out of ten.

another BL that shows the true potential of KBL
I was really looking forward to this BL and even though I had quite the expectations, it still managed to exceed them. This BL doesn't have anything super unique to it, it manages to portray what they have in a wonderful and unique way, though. As I always say, you don't have to bring something new to the table, but you have to put your own spin on things and this show did it really well.Mad props to the writers, the director and the actors who managed to make the relationship between Sangwoo and Jaeyoung what it is. Because of them, I consider it my favorite Korean BL (with To My Star ofc). We have great female characters that aren't villanized, beautiful cinematography, symbolism, parallels, HANDS and actually well-done kisses. Not to mention the great chemistry between the two leads. I highly suggest for everyone to give this BL a chance.
(Also the casual bi representation >>>>>>>>>>)

I LOVE SEMANTIC ERROR
One of the best Korean BL ever to be made. Love the drama and the webtoon. Not even a single ERROR can be spotted. O so loved it from episode one to the eighth. I give it a 10/10 peace!! The chemistry between Park Seo Ham and Park Jae Chan is so good, and they nailed the scenes! Just like the webtoon, the acting was spot on. Now, coming to the technical aspects, the sound is brilliant, I love the song "Romantic devil" so much. Then the cinematography was okay, loved the opening scene of episode 1 and the ending scene of the last episode. there were so many great elements in this drama. Even though there have been many Korean dramas that have created huge impacts, I believe Semantic Error is the actual beginning of the reign of Korean Bls. There will be a huge to shift to Korean BL, starting from this drama.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

A rare case of enemies to lovers done right.
As a fan of the manhwa, this series does not disappoint. The events and storyline from the manhwa and this series are different in some aspects, but all in all I feel the changes were necessary and I didn't mind it too much. It fully lived up to what I sought out from a drama.Production: 10/10.
Amazing. For a korean bl, this production is top tier. Actually, erase the korean bl part, for a series this production is amazing. The digital parts and the animation that has a part to this series is visually aesthetic, along with the quality of the shots in the series.
I can tell from the production the crew and cast actually care about this series and want to make it the best they could, unlike other bls that are an obvious cash grab. Obviously I know all series want money, but series can do this whilst actually caring about the storyline. Which is something I find hard in bls- finding something that is well produced, a nice storyline, good acting, etc that i’m interested in. And semantic error is one of them I actually enjoy.
Story: 9.5/10.
Now in this part I will be very obviously biased since I am a fan of the manhwa so keep that in mind. In my opinion, this drama really came to life from the manhwa, and as a fan of it, I am pleasantly happy with how the storyline went and the pacing of it all.
In the manhwa it is more of a slow burn and there were more situations that happened, but all in all I understood they weren’t able to cram all of the chapters of the manhwa into 8 episodes with 20-30 minutes each. I give this a 9.5 because of the stalker part (I mean that could easily go wrong) and - SPOILERS AHEAD-> sangwoo kissed jaeyoung without his consent in episode 6. Which, I understand, isn't a big deal but I did not find that cute or endearing, both in the series and in the manhwa. The manhwa itself also has some issues with consent, but this is not about that.
What I liked about the live action: Jaeyoung and yuna being bi. That was a nice touch. Also jihye, the one pursuing sangwoo didn't end up being an obsessive, toxic, second female lead. The kisses and affection, wow. I'd say this live action had more affectionate scenes than the manhwa, along with making the storyline more wholesome, which is a win for me.
Acting: 9.5/10.
Is this Oscar worthy nominated acting? No. The acting isn’t bad, but it’s not spectacular either. But considering semantic error is an enemies to lovers college romance without much depth to the story, it’s to be expected that the actors park seo ham and jaechan didn’t fully explore their acting abilities. Although I think park seo ham and jaechan are perfect for the role, visually at least. Overall, their acting was ok and didn’t make me cringe so that’s good. After watching the final episode though, I'd say their acting was pretty good. I can tell they're comfortable with their role, especially with the kisses/ affectionate scenes. They were so wholesome.
Visuals: 10/10.
Amazing. The props used, the locations where they shot this, the wardrobe- chefs kiss <3 I said it before but I'll say it again. They really brought this manhwa to life in the best way possible.
Ost: 10/10.
Romantic devil is addicting. Genuinely, i could not stop repeating that song in my playlist after the first time i listened to it, which is the scene of jaeyoung vibing in the staircase (if I remember correctly in ep 2).
Rewatch value: 10/10.
I don’t usually rewatch series, ever, but i’d rewatch ‘semantic error’ anytime.
Side note: Please do not ship the actors together. It’s alright to think they’d look good together, but keep in mind that they’re coworkers and good friends at most. Let’s not go overboard with the shipping and stay grounded in reality. Let’s also not assume/speculate about their sexuality, and if it turns out they end up being in a relationship with someone in the future, let’s continue to support them and not harass their partner. They are most likely good friends and they have a good bond with each other, that’s nice. Let's be supportive and rational fans, not a delulu fanbase.

Pane no sistema!

Intriguing...
It's only 2 episodes in so there's not a lot to say other than 'watch this now!' I love Korean dramas for their production values and there pretty actors but some of there BL's can be a bit lacklustre when it comes to interesting plot and slow pacing. I have not read the original source material but it immediately drew me in with its amazing storytelling for what seems like a simple enough plot. Its clever and engaging and funny with perfect pacing to match. The performances from all the leads plus the side characters are wonderful. Who can resist an enemies to lovers plot line, definitely a 'must see' right now I'm really impressed with this more than any other Korean BL I've seen of late.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Computer science major Chu Sang Woo is the epitome of an inflexible and strict rule-abiding person. While working on a liberal arts group project with freeloaders who don’t put in any effort, Sang Woo reasonably decides to remove their names from the final presentation. But he didn’t imagine how involved he would become with the person whose study-abroad plans were messed up because of that project. The involved person: the campus star who everyone knows, Department of Design’s Jang Jae Young. He has everything from skills, looks, family background and good relationships except for 1 big problem: Chu Sang Woo.
What happens when an engineer and an artist whose personalities are like oil and water have to work together? Jang Jae Young is like a semantic error in the perfect world of Chu Sang Woo. Will Sang Woo be able to debug this?
first of all thats the recap

10/10
I knew people loved this show going into it, but it's genuinely one of the best BLs I've ever watched. In fact I think it sets a new standard - especially for Korean BLs. It was clearly given thought and an amount of care that is usually only afforded to heterosexual dramas. The cinematography, the soundtrack, the actors' chemistry was all a complete success in my opinion. It also (accidentally to my knowledge) provided some excellent representation of an autistic character navigating dating and adult relationships. Not to mention casual bisexual representation without it being a *thing* that it patted itself on the back for.
There are so many good things to say about this drama honestly. The only downside is how short it is, but don't let that discourage you from watching and loving it.

This show has embedded into my thoughts forever.
8 episodes is too short! The actors are perfect! I find myself unable to stop thinking of Park Seo Ham.
I haven't had this feeling after watching a BL in a long time. The last time I cannot stop thinking about a BL after watching it was Sotus. Before Sotus, was Addicted Heroin.
I love the direction of the series and needless to say, the execution of the entire crew, cast was sublime. We need a few more seasons and a movie!

BEST BL!
I can't even begin to describe how much I love this kdrama. Im not much of a BL watcher but I decided to give these two a chance and man, I was NOT disappointed. So many BLs nowadays glamorize SA and no consent for the sake of attention but this was so pure and lovely. Their whole thing was warning the other that they'll kiss them and he gets to choose whether he will allow it or not. When pushed away, he remains away and doesn't push forward. They're both so sweet and slow with one another, it made me thing maybe BLs aren't THAT bad.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

STANDARD BL THAT DIDN'T REALLY STAND OUT
I watched this quite a bit ago so this will all be from what I remember...The story is your avarage enemies to lovers...Nothing really particular stands out, but this does not mean it's bad, it just leaves you wanting more.
The acting was good but forgettable, they played their characters well but did not REALLY embody them and sometimes went in too stereotypical ways for my taste.
Music was good from what I remember, but also not a standout.
