Emotionally effecting
Still was a quietly melodic short film following the lives of twin brothers, Andres and Gael. It showed how children can find joy, peace, and comfort in the smallest of gestures and activities even when confronted with unkindness.Andres and Gael are twin brothers who are tactile and nearly inseparable as they explore the world around them. I could see the constant push-pull in these boys. Separate identities yet close and nearly always together. Despite cruel words from a father and friend, the boys bond remained unbroken. The brothers’ love for each other was great enough to let each one be who they truly were without judgement.
Hilom/Still was short on dialogue and time yet still packed an emotional punch of childhood nostalgia, tenderness, and brotherly resiliency in the loss of trust in those around them.

Excellently-performed character story, even in the absence of dialogue
It wasn't complex. It felt like a simple moment in time - especially given the scarcity of dialogue. But i found that it wasnt really needed after some light reflection. It was a gorgeous story of the unconditional love between 2 young brothers surrounded by destruction and witnessing hatred for possibly the first time. Everything was delivered well. Even with the scarcity of dialogue, I felt like I knew the characters. I knew what they all were feeling, at all times. It was truly a gorgeous understated short film that I highly recommend.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
Innocent and sweet, but some grown ups suck
A short film that shows childhood at its sweetest, kids playing around on a beautiful beach, having fun and I guess just being kids. At times it made me wondering where are the grown ups but once one showed up I figured they could do better without them. There is very little dialog, and not a lot of drama however one word is all it takes to change the course of a story and that part was done really well. Reminding me of parts of my own childhood and how grown ups kind of sucked back then too.
So if you are in the mood for some pretty scenery and kids being kids while teaching us a lesson or two this is a good place to find it.
