it's also refreshing that the "husband" is the one who ends up hurt while the fl is the one chasing evil
Uhm Ji Won is an amazing actress, she's versatile and totally believable in her role. Jeong Ji So is like a Kyoko, better at dark roles, though she looked more like an idol than her awful drama. Jung Moon Sung is not the "typical" hot tall buff ml but he's 1000% better and totally admirable, as someone who fights with all his strength, someone who doesn't fear the fact that his wife is a total kickass boss and also doesn't mind staying in the sidelines.
it's so so rare to see a happy, alive, married couple in dramaland, honestly I love them~
the revelation, the villain and the end are all predictable, but walking corpses that steal/drive taxis and fall from staircases? scary and a nice enough twist on brainless zombies

So Jin was turned into a minor character, and Jin Hee was the MC here - which is mindboggling as she didn't carry shit in the drama - but that's the problem with viewing the drama - i am among the few that wasn't blown-away by it, it had its good points but Jin Hee was not one of them. so if i had known this whole movie was gonna revolve around Jin Hee - think i might have passed...
the only scene that was freakin cool was the taxi scene in the tunnel - that took me back to Train to Busan, the dead having one objective and that's getting their target - so loved how that whole scene played out, that was cool - but everything else was meeh, load of clichés... sad considering the "evil" shaman was justified in bringing down the wrath of god on the asses of those money hungry pharmaceutical company executives - so So Jin's intervention was unwarranted (IMHO) and yeah i get its so the innocents (cops) that got hurt and were suffering's would recuperate. but it felt counterproductive - idk
again - a fun one off. and got to see So Jin smile at Seong Jun, took her a whole drama and a movie to be able too lol, heck of an achievement considering he a really good person - totally selfless and giving. but So Jin had her own baggage in the drama so it was understandable - but that's another story...

Enjoyable movie
Dead Man’s Prey is actually an expanded universe of the hit 2020 series The Curse, written by Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-Ho. The universe is based on ancient dark magic where dead bodies are reanimated by shamans to seek revenge. While you don’t need to have watched the series, it does give you a better explanation of how Im Jin-Hee (Uhm Ji-Won), the gung ho reporter (and the lead) in the film, is related to the teen shaman named So-Jin (Jung Ji-So).The movie begins with a supernatural premise: someone is murdered by a corpse that has been dead for three months. This is where Jin-Hee comes in – the culprit reveals to her that there will be three more murders to come, and they will also be carried out by reanimated corpses (who’re called ‘jaechaui‘). The film ticks all the boxes of كhorror, mystery, and action.
The horror – or supernatural element – involves hooded corpses that seem to appear everywhere you don’t expect. While they seem to be human, what they do with their bodies is eerie. The only minor complaint is in the CG department when the jaechaui ‘die’.
The mystery portion explains the origin of the jaechaui – there are plenty of clues involving strange occult markings and… an Indonesian connection. The culprit is either very obvious or very obscure, depending on how you view the film.
The action is what makes the film most entertaining. There are several scenes worthy of mention, including the tunnel car chase and a hilarious scene involving taxis. There’s also an interesting dilemma posed by the undead: in the huge battle between the police and jaechaui, someone has to solve the ‘we can’t shoot them because they don’t have guns’ problem.
As the film progresses and the mystery deepens, the plot suddenly becomes a story of revenge using the dark arts against a company that abuses the marginalised. And stopping the onslaught of this jaechaui apocalypse lies in the hands of one unexpected person.
If it’s one thing to take away from this film, it’s that the women play a more prominent part in making decisions and solving problems.
All in all, the film brings together all the expected elements of horror, occult mystery, and action in an entertaining way. (One also can’t help but wonder if part of this plot was inspired by the ‘nut rage’ incident in Korea.) Just don’t expect it all to make sense in the real world.
Oh, and stay until the very end of the movie, as there are extra scenes.

Great Follow up to the Original Series
The original TV series had some pacing issues, but the characters and story set up were excellent. This follow on movie has thrilling action with a fast pace, and appears to be the first of a series of self contained movie long episodes with the main characters from the original series. Baek So Jin, the main character and 'hero', doesn't appear until late but she is clearly the center and is defined by her actions as a new super hero. Reminds me of the Dexter character from the book series - not the TV series - who was literally possessed by a demon/evil spirit that resulted in a tense balance between good and evil. Dexter would offer up serial killers for torture and death to this demon to keep it and its influence on him in check. I look forward to seeing what they do with this demon possessed So Jin character. The first time I watched this from an online source the subtitles were horrible. However, I just rewatched a Blu-Ray version and they are much improved.

The Cursed: Dead Man’s Prey.
