They chose violence
This movie definitely shows all the injustices happening in Philippines, and gives a somewhat cinematic poetic justice to all the injustices. The whole movie has a different kind of charm, A girl finds a gun and she chooses violence to find peace and gain respect, and on the other side we have teen trying to survive and a gun keeps him safe. Elijah Canlas and Janine's acting is so brilliant. There is so much meaning in the gun, this gun can mean violence, protection or anything but to the character's it's the only hope they hold.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

in contrast to the boppy james bond type of music bg, the movie presents the hurdles and struggles of the ones who are having it rough. this actually highlights poverty, corruption and also the horrible crimes that are very much relevant till this day. where it fell short for me was the transition from the present and then quickly switches to the origin of the gun. when it did switch back to the present, it didn't make much sense of why the main lead is heading to her rapist instead of her roommate's boyfriend as it was hinted she was heading to his house. the consistency was lacking.
overall, this movie promotes awareness of unjust malpractices and victims of violence resorting to violence because of how inflated their hardships are.
