Lucky's First Love (2019)

This romance is very similar in basic plot to Love 020 and Le Coup de Foudre.

I liked this more because of the endearing relationship between the two leads Xia Ke and Xing Yun. While in the beginning Xia Ke takes Xing Yun for granted , he is never unnecessarily cruel or mean. Xia Ke is quick to want to clear up misunderstandings. There is a lot of respect flowing between the two of them, and they have really good natural chemistry (and good kissing scenes - though it takes forever to get there!).

The side romance/side characters are charismatic with good personalities.

The plot is thin and could have been edited down to 20 episodes. I almost dropped this around Episode 12 because the typical 'switch' (when the arrogant male character panics/goes into crisis/humbles himself) was taking too long.

Complex Themes - 6
Not complex, but I liked the emphasis on trust, respect and sharing burdens. Really good modelling on healthy relationships. I liked the growing respect for typically gendered 'feminine' skills in the work place e.g. organizing, morale boosting, loyalty, team-work.
Character Growth - 6
Xing Yun grows to know her own worth, but it is Xia Ke who does the fundamental transformation to being more trusting and open. Neither do a huge dramatic transformation, but they do have a lasting change.
Nuanced Women -7.5
Xing Yun is your typical bubbly, girlish naive female lead. BUT she does have a lot of inner strength by the end, and does out-smart other characters. I liked the strong female friendships displayed - and there was a lot of female screen time.
Cinematography/Production Values - 7.5
There was a lot of name branded/luxury goods to help with the realism of wealthy characters. The sets were appropriate. There are no 'cinematic' moments - it was shot as a basic drama.

Continuation of TTEOM❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍

I love the story Love Is Sweet ❤️‍ after the heartbreaking movie of TTEOM. The male and female leads are more compatible-looking at a glance. The chemistry between Leo and Bai Lu is just awesome. It was a great movie capturing the feelings of first love and high-school friendship. Bai Lu is a very talented, cute, beautiful actress. Her beauty is beyond words, she is truly a gorgeous girl. Her talent is unmatched. Blending humor, adult themes, and a sweet, artistic style, every page delivers. Also, unlike other c-dramas where physical contact is already rare, this series has more than enough non-public PDA moments that are spread pretty evenly throughout. Unrealistic of course, but good for viewership.

This is probably the first Cdrama where I haven’t wanted to skip scenes

I’m not going to lie and say this is the best drama. The story is one you’ve seen a thousand times and the acting is silly. But I will say this is a 10 in my book.

The biggest thing for me is how lovable all of the side characters and love plots are. I often skip through scenes that are about love stories outside of the main (they’re often just too slow/boring for me when I’m more interested in the mains) but I adored watching them in this one. I found myself more invested in the side love stories at times than the main, which has never happened for me before.

Give it a try if you’re looking for something easy to digest. There are many heart-fluttering moments to make you smile.

Drama regular

Personalmente no creo que este sea un mal drama pero el foco de atención de las parejas que se conformaron no fue el mejor, sin dudas la pareja principal fue la que menos me gusto de las 3 que se armaron. Mientras la historia contaba como principal problematica el enredo de sentimientos entre xing yun, xia ke, chu nan y shen qing, la pareja principal tenia algo con lo que atraía porque podías sentir empatia con ellos 2 pero en cuanto se abandona este arco el drama se pone sumamente aburrido y parejas como la de shen qing y chu nan sumada la de yao qing y he yu se ponen mucho mas interesantes a lo largo de la historia y todos su desarrollo se hace nulo y se salta de una elipsis hasta que ya llegaron a una conclusión de sus sentimientos. No creo sinceramente que los actores principales lo hayan hecho mal es mas xia ke es de esos protagonistas chinos de cara sin sentimientos pero se notaba que el gesticulaba conciente o inconcientemente sentimientos que te hacian apreciarlo un poco pero en los 24 capitulos nunca pude entablar en vinculo con xing yun pero esto puede ser posiblemente por como esta guionado su personaje.
En fin me parece que de las 3 parejas la principal es la peor pero me gustaron mucho sus besos porque no parecieron nada actuados y se sintieron

This is a really nice light drama focused on character development and office romance. There is good chemistry among the cast and the leading couple. SPOILER ALERT: The romance takes 13 episodes to get it together but the leading couple has good chemistry. Although the leading lady is smart and pretty (except for the awful choice of her wig), the writers overused her insecurity and lack of romance experience up until the last episode creating a quite bothersome flip-flop attitude from the female lead. There were two noteworthy romantic moments and, somehow, the writers might have thought that was good enough since the rest are just nice romantic moments and they lost some luster by the end. Still, the drama is a really nice office relationship series.

I've finished this weeks ago but this still lingers in my mind. One of the very few dramas that send butterflies in my stomach. I honestly believe this is underrated and the leads did their job very well. This makes me want to find a boyfriend of my own too. Lol.

This is one of my favorite chinese dramas along with a love so beautiful, put your head on my shoulder and meteor garden. You may get disheartened at the first few episodes but it well get better.

I watched a lot of chinese dramas these days because of the lockdown but very few really got me like Lucky's first Love did. The kisses are awesome. :')

I hope Bai Lu gets to act in more modern romcoms. She's one of my favorites now. :)

It was alright, I guess

Story: There were three total romance lines in this drama, and I can truly say that all three of them were very enjoyable and surprisingly realistic. I enjoyed watching the characters struggle against their better judgement and take the leap of faith to get together despite the difficulties they knew they would face. Sadly, besides the romance arcs, I found the rest of the drama rather dull, and it took me quite a few episodes to actually get into and begin to enjoy the storyline. The ending of this drama was perfectly cute and cheesy, just how I like it, and I honestly almost gave this drama an 8/10 because of all the fuzzies I got from the final scene.

Acting/ Cast: I enjoyed both of the leads and their acting. There wasn’t anything glaringly cringey or unrealistic about their acting or the acting of the supporting characters, so I’m pretty happy with the cast of this drama. I thought the chemistry between the leads was so freaking good though. Like, no joke, I was FANNING myself especially during that first kissing scene because HOLY MOLY that was some good camerawork! The only thing that kind of upset me is the female lead’s hideous wig. It took me a LONG time to get to used to that abomination.

Music: There wasn’t really much music in this drama besides the intro theme. Can’t say I mind it too much. It’s not out of the ordinary for Chinese dramas to not have an extensive OST, so eh.

Rewatch Value: I don’t think I’m going to ever rewatch this drama. Not because it wasn’t rewatchable, but mostly because I just don’t feel like it is good enough for me to have the urge to watch it again.

Final thoughts: I’d recommend this drama for a casual watching experience. If you have a lot of time to kill, you might enjoy it. Otherwise, it’s nothing special or super impressive, so I’d skip it if you were looking for a high quality drama.

Regular but cute and refreshing funny drama

Starting with the good aspect i loved the flow of the drama didnt boared me at all in the fisrt 16 episode . The charecters are awsome xing yun and xia ke was unforgotabale in every way . The will of waiting for xing yun left me blushing . It was very good drama without any way to make the women small in work place . I found it really great that the female lead wasnt his sceratary as many other drama .apart from that we can see the capability of her . It was funny in everyway and cute too to watch .
Now lets come to the bad things
The reason of xia ke to hiar her just because she took care of a street cat and she is pretty left me speechless . Continuasly making her overwork teasing her was illigal in the first place . She was an outstanding employee but still she doesnt have any special position also made me little angry .i was holding back all my anger untill two thing came on the light . First juat because her name is xing yun which also means lucky was so exarated . She had some coincidents with luck but her hardwork was totally shadowed by it . And xia ke kissing her while she is drunk and could not even realize who is she kissing .it is a harrasment in the ttag of romance . Xia ke also kissed her in the gient wheel i just cant imagine if she just pushed him away .what it would like to be sitting next to each other untill they could go out ?☠️
Xing yun is a funny happy person and xia ke is cold and kind of less word man .this combination is alway myy cup of tea so i wont complain about that lol
I just counldnt resist the screen time of other couples .her working value was but low but she got pay a lot . I think i am the only who doesnt cring over her wig . It was my fisrt drama of bai lu .i have now watched more than every drama. Of her she has great acting skills to paform any type of charecter
Xing xiong ling was always great as usual .would like to see khe yi in other drama as a main lead.
The gorls friend thing at the end was bit nonesence like they just could being a tredination villen type of thing lol . ?

If you are a fan if watching fluffy .romcom .bossemployee drama this ddrama is for you .i have warched 4times still freash and new for me. Lol . Good for time pass ?❤️

Watch this if you're looking for an easy watch, a sweet rom-com type drama, especially if you're into dramas with cool CEO type. This is one such drama. I actually enjoyed this drama. I really like Bai Lu. I thought she performed well in this drama, and she acted naturally. I find Xing Zhao Lin's acting as the ML is stiff at times, but maybe that's because he has to act cool and doesn't care about the FL. It's like he has no expressions at all LoL. The drama is very light and doesn't have many complicated relationships and conflict. One thing I hate is the ex GF that suddenly showed up towards the last 1/4 of the drama. She is just an annoying spoiled materialistic bitch that brings no relations or importance to the show LOL. Overall, this is quite good to watch.

Annoyed for most of it, but smiling like an idiot by the end

This drama is definitely only for an easygoing watch or a quick binge. Having been stressed out due to exams, I quickly started it and very quickly finished it (probably because I skipped through like half of it but anyways). I did almost drop it about four times, though I'm glad I held out for the end.

The story is the most predictable, bland and typical plot to ever exist. Cold on the outside, warm on the outside wealthy CEO boss man + well meaning, clumsy but hardworking subordinate. But, as always, the romance just works so well. I'm a basic bitch with a craving for fluff what can I say. Though the story and characters are unoriginal, I definitely enjoyed watching their journeys unfold. The female leads in particular were what made me hold on. Yao Qing is who I want to be if I ever grow up. Though the show pushed many patriarchal ideas, the three female leads were (sometimes) steering us away from those outdated notions and voicing what they wanted and who they wanted to be. Much appreciated.

As much as I love the ladies, this is a romcom and the romance has to be at the forefront. Which it was. I had a difficult time with it in the middle as they started introducing more and more love interests for every single lead only because it was so unnecessary and you knew how it was going to play out. But watching the romances unfold was fun and they were sooooo fluffy and sweet. I felt like a 7 year old reaching into a jar of gummy bears. It was a blast. The couples also seemed to have such good chemistry with each other as romantic partners, but also as friends.

The beginning and middle were adequate at best, but by the end as all of the romances has unfolded and I saw all of the things from the first few episodes finally come to fruition, I could not stop smiling like a complete idiot. It was just so cute.

So yea, if you need a cheesy, fluffy, cavity-inducing show this is what you are looking for. I did have to skip through multiple scenes, but I don't think that lessened the quality of my viewing. Most of the stuff I skipped were the boring business-y things that barely pertained to the story anyway or the cringe ex-girlfriend/ex-boyfriend nonsense.

Light and sweet!

A super light and sweet drama. Well if you want to take a break from dramas that has way too many conflicts it almost never ends, then these might be a good choice. It is never angsty, and I really mean it, not the type that I would watch all over again but it really left me a good impression. The story was good, and not the usually over the top kind you can usually watch on cdramas. I just hated that part that they have to bring that ex girl friend. Like duh? I don't think a strong, capable and professional woman can still be that bitter and would want to be back again with the guy she left for years. But anyway, this drama is really good.
