Beware- This drama will melt your heart!
This drama stole my heart from the very first episode. From the moment you meet the main characters at the orphanage and endeavor on the big adventure of conquering Taipei you can feel the strong bond and love they have for each other. There are no overdramatic situations in this drama, it potrays their everyday life and you can easily put yourself in their shoes. The storyline and characters grab attention and will easily make your heart melt. Till the very last lines of this drama I enjoyed it a great deal.
The acting is so on point, I was impressed. I don’t get easily invested in the scenes but this drama had me going through so many emotions. The chemistry between the actors is undeniable. The casting team can pat themselves on the back.
To put it short: It's a beautiful story about friendship and love stronger than any hurdles thrown at this group of friends. It's truly one of the kind.

3 orphans from the countryside dream big of going to Taipei. One ended up being a workaholic to the point of not having time for friends and love ones. Another went off the wrong path and had to find their way back. Final one was too kind, but ended up accommodating to everyone's decisions around them instead of of going after what they really want. The main couple is cute. It may be odd for some because they were raised as siblings but with no blood relations whatsoever. I really like the backstory to Yuan Man's childhood when she was abandoned and how she was traumatized because of it. Although I can't really relate, i can in a different way which made me root for her happiness in the end.
Hou Zi is my other favorite character, but you'll be in for a very sad ending. Grab tissues because I loved him and Liqing a lot than main couple. They were adorable!
The antagonist of the story is not a very cunning person, just can be annoying because she always drags Yuan Man to help her with her love life. Overall the drama wasn't too dramatic, it can get a bit draggy but its chill. Childhood friends trying to make it big in the city. You get arguments, college- adult life, breakups, trust broken between friends, misunderstandings, business related things, etc.

The story is really cute. Friends living in an orphanage, some even using the same last name, so just a big friendly family with big dreams - living in Taipei. It seems like the whole drama will be about them getting through college successfully, but only the first few episodes surround that theme. Most of all the drama talks about the difficulties of living in a big city without any help and the ups and downs of strong longtime friendship. Obviously mostly about the two main characters Wuxian and Yuanman that`ve liked each other for a long time.
So this story has everything you need for drama, heartbreak and shocking happenings that will make you go on watching eventhough you might get bored on some point or the other.
The music in my opinion is great and fits the atmosphere. Also the actors were a great choice.. Ben Wu is really good looking (sorry.. not sorry) and Ivy Shao is great at showing the complicated emotions of Yuanman. Hou Zicheng.. the third main character is also portrait greatly by Daniel Chen, as he shows the childlike choices but warm intentions right at the start,
All in all I think I wouldn`t rewatch the whole drama, but maybe a few scenes and also wouldn`t drop this drama as it is a cute drama to watch for your weekly dosis of clishee. A solid 8/8,5 out of 10...

A beautiful slice of life that hits you in all the feels
It's been about a week since I finished watching this drama and I still think about it a lot. The plot synopsis didn't seem like the most promising thing to me but the amazing cast caught my attention, especially since I could already imagine the chemistry between Ben and Ivy. Right off the bat, this drama hooked me on. The dynamic and friendships of the main friend group was really well established and I love the idea of moving into a big city and discovering yourself. It gave off major In a Good Way vibes, which I absolutely adored. The several time jumps allowed us to really become attached to the characters, who are all flawed but still lovable in their own ways. This drama perfectly captures the struggles of growing up, establishing a career and relationships and hardships, such as lost of friends. Yuanman and Wuxian completely won my heart and while I was annoyed at them for their poor communication at times, I loved their development and how they helped each other grow. I admit, at the start, I didn't really like Houzi, especially the storyline of him committing crimes, but my heart absolutely tore apart seeing him being looked down after serving his time and then getting sick. Yuanman and her mom's storyline was also so well written and I loved her development at the end where she chose family over work, which was her main struggle throughout the drama. My only complaint was that Director Bai deserved better. They made a big ordeal about how much Wuxian loves designing toys, and even though I understand why he became a doctor, I would've loved to see him decide to pursue his dream of designing toys instead. All in all, this drama has completely won my heart and made me cry way too many times.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

I had mixed expectations of watching Love & π. I took a break between the first 10 episodes and the last 7. Watching back to 1989 with Ivy Shao, I had high hopes for this drama.
The drama focuses on realism in most of its aspects which the struggles of the everyday person, the up and downs of life, and the challenges brought before you. The realism is fine, but not entirely sure if thats what some viewers would like to see when they are looking for a drama.
While there is room for a happy ending, people did suffer along the way.
This wasn't your typical romance, comedy, while it had it's moments, personally wasn't as appealing as other dramas I've recently watched.
I've seen Ivy & Ben in previous dramas, and they finally get their romance together in this pairing.
The story could do a better job transitioning the time jump in years, even with a bit of subtitle mentioning 3 years later rather than the character eluding it to it abit down the story. Hou Zhi's character was abit out of place, many times often the 3rd wheel trying to find his place in the world, not being himself, and then ended up with the bad fate in the end. Does it take someone's misfortune to make people realize and reconcile their problems, could the story have gone another way.
While the title is called Love & π, theres many instances and expressions of love, π is not clearly defined, if π is meant to be circle, then where you started is where you ended up given both Wu Xian + Yuan Yuan, and then Sun Zhi+ Lin Mei. They probably could've done a better job to close it all together for the audience. Its a good story, but if its meant to be something much deeper & more meaning the delivery needs improvement.

Overall great show, great chemistry between leads
Maybe I'm just a sucker for romance stories based on childhood friends, but I thought the main leads here were perfect for each other. I thought the supporting cast rounded out the story well but they all really only existed to support the main leads and help them along, which kinda miffed me a bit, since I always love good independent supporting characters.Other than that, I liked how the drama is a realistic coming-of-age type of story rather than having gimmicks that a lot of taiwanese dramas have (like time travel). The trials and tribulations that everyone faced, the ups and downs, felt very real and made everything feel more impactful.
And I think what knocks this show out of the park is that they landed the ending. Many Taiwanese dramas muck up the ending. This one does not do that - it gives our characters a fulfilling send off which is what they deserve. Without giving any spoilers, they were not all happy endings but they were fulfilling endings.
I've seen folks complain about how the characters' frequent miscommunications were really annoying. While I agree, I think these situations are very realistic for two people trying to evolve their best friendship into a romantic relationship. It's a tricky dance and I think this show executed it well.
Aside from wishing they gave a bit more screen time and development to the supporting characters, I think this show is one of the top romance dramas I've seen coming out of Taiwan in recent years.

this plot was kinda okay and even the cast was fine...still this drama makes no fucking sense where the two leads get all the opportunities but the supporting casts do not..however their chemistry looks totally fake..some of the supporting actors are given pitiful ive sand they are also made to act pitiful without any fucking reason..it get's really boring after the half but many of you will think about watching it in the first..don't know.i think Taiwanese dramas do not like happy endings at all..it's ending was pitiful and not at all expected..they tried to add some complicated twists which made this drama more worse and they didn't even end it properly making the desired consequences.....it's just a waste of time..
