LOVE+SLING (2018)

a lesson to not live our lives for anyone but yourself

I generally have a low standard in terms of comedy, anything that's light and funny will almost always be a 10, but this film is both good and bad at the same time.

It had good comedy and started off with an interesting light story we can follow, but it starts going downhill.

Love+Sling follows the daily lives of 2 familes experience love and friendship while trying to figure things out in the process. I'd recommend people to watch this blindly without reading the synopsis or watching the trailer, It would be more ridiculous + funnier.

the film failed miserably on pacing, 1hr 48m was too much, despite the occasional laugh out loud moments, it couldn't suffice the bad storytelling.

Acting was above average at best, the film is surely not the best performances of the actors, but I wouldn't blame them, they just sinked along with the bad script.

Unless you have a lot of time to spare or have nothing to watch, I do not recommend this. Luck-Key, Midnight Runners, or Okay! Madam are movies with better storytelling whilst having the same great comedy.

Una comedia romántica deportiva con un triángulo amoroso cuyos vértices son
un padre soltero bienintencionado pero demasiado controlador (Yoo Hae-jin, 1987)
su obediente hijo (Kim Min-jae), que obliga a su padre a entrenar duro en la lucha; y
la chica guapa de la puerta de al lado (Lee Sung-kyung), a la que inconveniente e inexplicablemente le gusta más el padre que el hijo.

Si la analizamos mas profundamente, observando con algo mas de atención, la película era mucho más que una simple aventura amorosa. Trataba de los personajes y de sus sueños. Los sueños pueden ser tontos, como el deseo de Ga-young de casarse con Gwi-Bo, o tan fuertes como el de Sung-Woong de ser lo que quiere y realizarlo. La película tenía muchas escenas buenas pero tontas que me hicieron reír a carcajadas.

La relación entre el padre y el hijo, que era tensa al principio, y va cambiando según avanza la pelicula. Los actores secundarios hacen un gran trabajo de actuación también.

Parece una fórmula razonable para una película. Yu Hae-jin, que interpreta al padre, un luchador retirado, es el protagonista de la película, lleno de energía y de un entusiasmo que a veces resulta agotador. La película no va a hacer que te vayas con pensamientos profundos en la cabeza, pero a veces sólo quieres algo fácil de ver, y esto matará algo de tiempo si no hay nada más para distraer tu atención.
