Four Days of Snow and Blood (1989)

Before giving my opinion, I would like to tell you to watch this movie only if you have some knowledge about the incident of February 26, 1936 and about the Empire of Japan, otherwise you will be quickly lost while watching this movie.

Concerning my opinion, I liked this movie very much, as a history lover and more particularly about the Empire of Japan, I couldn't miss it. What I appreciated in this movie is the global atmosphere, we accompany the characters in all their emotions by passing through all their emotional phase, we quickly put ourselves in the place of the soldiers between their different decision. This is what I appreciated the most while watching this movie, I really liked the music, there are obviously a lot of military songs which reinforces the immersion in the scenario.

In addition this film seemed a little long, indeed we will find few action scenes and many scenes of reflection of the characters on their past and future choices. It's really at the end that the film becomes interesting and that we understand where the scenario wanted to bring us.

In short, I strongly advise this film to history lovers, to the others I advise you to pass your way otherwise this film will not please you and you will have the impression to have wasted your time.
