"Policeman and Me" ("P to JK") based on a manga sh?jo by Maki Miyoshi.
The film is therefore more inclined to romantic comedy than a serious drama about inadequate love for age, although Kota, his police hero played by pop idol Kazuya Kamenashi, is the soul of sincerity. And, as his teenage bride Kako happily observes.
There is more to the story than Kota's desire to ease his conscience and restore his male pride, but Nami Yoshikawa's script is short on explanations, at least initially. What is obvious, however, is Kako's delight in playing house with her husband in his house very large for a police officer's salary, although she swear the aforementioned friend to the deep and dark secret about the engagement.
Meanwhile, Kota behaves like a perfect gentleman with his teenage girlfriend. In their moments, they exchange little more than smiles and the occasional hug, initiated by a stunned Kako. However, this interlude of innocent happiness is short. Okami Mahiro Takasugi, the temperamental, blond-haired punk who accidentally put Kako in the emergency room, becomes Kota's nemesis, as well as his sickly friends.
In addition, the realities of being a wife to a guy often absent in a dangerous job begin to affect Kako's fantasy world. She gets jealous, fearful and dubious. Can Kota see her as another human being, rather than a burden he must protect? In other words, a good mellow movie but that could be perfect for a mature drama.

Just a quickie, not too spoilery review:This was an alright movie. I was overall disappointed and had a hard time dispensing disbelief, especially over the whole a 16 year old girl and 26 year old police officer suddenly getting married and moving in together within the first day or two of meeting each other. If the movie and them had actually taken time to actually date and get to know each other and allow the parents months to consider giving their daughter away and such before getting married, then I think a lot of my problems would become irrelevant.
I personally had major problems with and felt very uncomfortable with the age difference between the characters, Kouta’s motives to marry (which aren't really explained),, and even with the parents’ thought process of just allowing their 16 year old daughter to marry and move in with him straight away.
But Kame is very, very pretty in this and the camera gave us some amazing Kame close ups (particularly of his eyes), and he gave a good performance and at one point we got Gokusen feels. Also thanks to Kame’s performance I cried at least twice xD
Also, I am all for Kame and Mahiro doing a Buddy Cop movie together after this movie, especially after that one scene they did together in this movie! Mahiro was very good in this too just as I expected! Tsuchiya herself and her acting didn’t annoy me which is good, BUT unfortunately her character was an immature train wreck.
Seriously, only watch this if you’re a fan of Kame, Mahiro and/or the manga. Otherwise I don’t think you’ll like this.

Kamenashi Kazuya plays a cop who falls in love "without a reason" with a high school girl. Kame's character is good, not particularly likeable but good.
What I didn't get while watching this movie is why, for God's sake, an adult man like him fell in love with a high school student who acted exactly how one of her peers.
The ending with Bruno Mar's song was the part the I actually liked better.
Not a good movie, but definitely better than other shojo manga filmed this year.
*cough* peach girl, for instance.*cough*

The first thing you have to acknowledge is poor story pacing. I understand that a lot of story is hard to fit in two hours, but it can be done. You've probably read by now there literally is no courtship before marriage. There isn't really even enough chemistry or social/physical interaction to sell the whole love at first sight hook! So the only thing you can deduce is that he married her because he was lonely, felt some weird guilt trip so felt the need to protect her. Which if honestly was the case, wouldn't require marriage at all so it still feels really off. When you add in additional factors and how immature/innocent Kako acts even for a modern 16 year old it plays out even more cringy!
This leads to the second thing that must be acknowledged, their maturity levels. Kako could pass as a 12 year old trapped in a 16 year olds body! Her behavior and expressions are so childish it makes the thought of a grown man seeing her as a woman very uncomfortable. On the flip side you have Kouta who could pass as more mature than 26 year old because of his obsession with propriety as a officer and willingness to sacrifice himself for the job! So in the end the age gap gets way more absurd and creepy! The only conclusion you can make that doesn't sound a lot like pedophilia is that he wasn't physically attracted to her as a woman and just wanted someone he could protect and not be alone, maybe have the best position of control? That doesn't exactly make for a swoon worthy romance, more like a borderline psychological thriller/horror movie plot device.
This leads to the most disturbing of all things that must be acknowledged! It is made crystal clear by Kouta that Okami is still a child! It implied many times that Kouta is a mature adult officer and Okami is a kid and needs to rely on adults like the police for help. Yet Okami acts way more mature than Kako! So it's hard to sell the double standard that Kako is grown enough to be an equal, consensual marriage partner, when it's established that she is Okami's peer therefore at the same level (if not lower maturity level ) as a dependant child! This plus the odd, uncomfortable small scenes of physical/romantic interaction between Kouta and Kako make it feel like a little girl with a crush on her older brother. She literally never reaches the maturity level you would expect from a married woman all the way to the end! The only reason you don't have the urge to call CPS when Kouta kisses her or proposes is because he appears to regress in maturity to the level of a teenage boy. That in itself is pretty disturbing though when you actually try to rationalize it!
After acknowledging all the faults it's easy to say this movie definitely failed at being able to comfortably portray a marriage let alone a romance between a 16 year old girl and 26 year old man. Since that is the major premise of the movie it's really sad to admit. The highlight to me was actually the friendship between Kako and Okami! I would actually have preferred a movie based on their circumstances to be the lead romance and the policeman story to be more of a friendship crush that never developed romantically. Why? Because it felt genuine and much more interesting. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to insult Kame, his acting, or trash how well he executed the story! He looked amazing as ever, and I understood his perspective genuinely! It was truthful the storyline and underdevelopment of the characters relationships that made this movie nonsensical. The acting was actually not bad, but with the weird storyline and disjointed characters it felt like they were all performing in unrelated stories!
This is me commenting on the music, it was okay, lively but nothing truly beyond to be notice worthy in my opinion.
I can't actually recommend a re-watch just because there isn't much to warrant it! I mean even in badly executed rom-coms there is often enough sweet warm and fuzziness for a squee fix even if you fast forward the rest! Unfortunately all of those moments in this movie are so uncomfortable to watch and unsatisfying it's more of a downer. My advice is to screenshot Kame and his very sexy-suitable hairstyle as a screensaver and move on to the next movie! ?

......because she cried all the frikkin time....
The basic plot is kind of original but honestly super weird and it made me really uncomfortable but the execution lacked any originality. You will see the female lead who is kind of "unique" and cheerful with her two side kick best friends, the bad boy who needs friends and the broken male lead.
As usual with Japanese dramas or movies, when life gets tough, the female lead cries.... a lot... all the time.
The couple didn't have any chemistry so their on screen time was just really awkward while some scenes were just really uncalled for and didn't make sense at all.
I recommend this movie to Kamenashi Kazuya fan girls cause he is dressed as a cop. To everyone else I'd recommend you find ANY OTHER shoujo with a higher quality story and execution.
ENJOY!

That being said OH MY GOD KAME IS BEAUTIFUL. You get Odagiri feels in this and his camera time is amazing.

The movie starts with a slow pace though it picks up in the second half,I just feel many elements in the film were not satisfied. There were many scenes which were like warm and beautiful but seemed forced.Chemistry was not appealing.
Kazuya Kamenashi as Kouta shines in some scenes as a police officer and a dutiful husband but I feel his character could have been utilized more.Tao Tsuchiya as Kako seems lively throughout the movie. So I liked her more here. The supporting cast like Takasugi Mahiro as Okami was good.
Only a more crisp script could have made it more enjoyable and memorable!!!
Good for one time watch :-)

Kazuya Kamenashi - was great as usual , there is no word to describe him
Tao Tsuchiya - on the other hand this actress reallllllly annoyed me , didn't like her actin one bit , I don't know is it cuz of the character she is portraying or her acting itself . I felt her emotions wasn't clear sometime exaggerating and sometime nothing at all
Mahiro Takasugi - he was the greatest , incredible although his part wasn't that much but he did a great job
the music wasn't that great , nothing that will blow ur mind , but there is a surprise at the end of the movie :") (FOCUS )
There is nooooooooooo way I will watch it a gain , for me it was the worst experience
overall , that was my opinion maybe u will have a different point of view , enjoy .
Hope that my review helped ^^

The storyline is very basic and quite intriguing, so if you're interested after reading the plot summary, just head to read the original manga! I guarantee that it's a 100 times better than this adaptation. I guess the movie sucks because the screenwriters had to jumble up 5+ volumes of the manga's storyline into as little as 2h. In my opinion, the writers for this movie adaptation didn't select the right scenes to film, didn't show the development of the supporting characters. Everything felt very unrealistic and out of place, believe me. Not to mention the horrible acting. I thought that the cast was fresh and inexperienced. But to my surprise, the lead actors are actually very famous and this movie is not their biggest one. Especially the female lead - I haven't seen such bad acting in a very long time!
Overall, if I had to put my review in a few words, I'd say that this movie is enjoyable only if you put it on as a background noise while doing your homework. Definitely not worth watching. However, if you're interested in the plot, quickly head to read the manga! It is so much better on paper!
P.S. That ending scene with Bruno Mars' "Marry You" was the cringiest thing I've ever seen...

Overall I found it strange that in the beginning the male lead was all against even dating a 16 years old, and the next scene without any reason he was all for marriage with said 16 (I don’t think I need to explain why I find this so problematic, especially for the fact that said male lead is 26!) I usually don’t mind age gap, but this felt very much like a propaganda of marridge ideals being shoved down our throats. I like the actor who plays the male lead, but the role he was given doesn’t put him in the best light. I feel like he had many sides to offer as an actor but was just not given a chance to. The writers really did screw up the plot and the story, with plot holes, characters acting one way in one scene and another in the next. I especially found it strange that the parents were so easy to convince into letting their child (whom apparently they love so much!) married to a grown ass man, (it feels like those who made this are trying to make us believe that this this old fashioned idea that marrying off your kid before they legal is completely fine and dandy). Things just happened for the sake of the plot to move forward without actually a proper reason. (spoiler form here on out!) Especially at the hospital scene when the parents leave their daughter with the man they just met after she was hit on the head and still unconscious. (it would make sense if they knew he was a police officer but there wasn’t indication that they had any idea!) And I could say much more that I find strange with this movie but I would be just wasting my time on something I don’t enjoy, rather than spending it on something I do enjoy.Regardless, I’m not trying to discourage those who want to see the movie, it might come helpful if you’re trying to learn of what mistakes not to make when writing your own story, or whatever floats your boat.
