I haven't got enough disbelief to suspend to make this thing enjoyable.
SO...clearly a lot of people put a lot of effort into making this drama, and I fully respect that effort. However, this drama was pretty poorly executed. The story was long and drawn out with lots of inconsistencies and super slow parts. I think the flaw though was the role written for the female lead. It's pretty incompatible with the role written for the male lead. There didn't seem to be a lot of chemistry between the female and male lead, I believe the issue is primarily in the way the script depicted them both. While the story is standard enough, a spy who falls in love and wants to give up the spy life to pursue love, it's the love part that is its downfall. The spy is pretty clever and does all sorts of clever spy things....but the female lead is portrayed as a complete simpering idiot.....not in a loveable way, in a pretty obnoxious way. She seems to have a few skills and they could have made her pretty clever too, but instead they have her be an obnoxious, judgy, lovesick, bimbo...and it's pretty annoying to watch. There doesn't really seem to be anything in her personality or appearance that the spy would be able to fall in love with, especially not in the represented timeframe. She's basic as shit.
When you start with a flawed premise, the things that follow become flawed as well...the viewer is expected to suspend disbelief not only with the normal spy never dies and overcomes all odds shit, but also with the main love premise of the show, it's too much. I don't think casting a different female lead would have made a difference, I think the material she was given to work with was inherently flawed.
The side characters were actually pretty well written. Dark Death and his long lost love were both very fun to watch and their interactions were stellar....though her suddenly being accepted and taken into confidence by her estraned bad guy husband was a little hard to believe. The male spy handler dude was pretty well written as well and provided the only highly limited comic relief in this dry inconsistent drama.
Overall, I would not recommend this drama over most of the dramas I've seen and I for sure would never force myself to slog through it again. 5-stars might be too high, but I wanted to at least respect the effort that went into makingit.

This drama was meant to be a comedy spy drama...with ott goofy aspects...
It is enjoyable and very global commercial kinda story, so not ur typical K drama setting. No wonder netflix has this!
Watch like u would watch any american show...the only K thing is the comedy and the bromance...:)

Let down by female love interest
I like the premise of an NIS agent in deep cover as a movie star’s bodyguard and the storyline struck a good balance between NIS agent action and the day-to-day life of a celebrity’s bodyguard. The overall plot has been good so far (I've watched 12 episodes to date) with enough twists and turns to keep me interested; I hope the ending doesn't disappoint. The Yeo Woon Gwang movie star and celebrity story strand was done well especially the movie-making scenes. I liked both Park Hae Jin as Agent K and Park Sung Woong as movie star Yeo Woon Gwang, and enjoyed seeing the relationship between the two male leads develop. I also liked how Woon Gwang's character evolves as the series progresses.
However, I could’ve done without the character Cha Do Ha. While Agent K and Yeo Woon Gwang are interesting and believable characters for this genre, Cha Do Ha isn’t. Firstly, she goes from being Woon Gwang’s super-fan and crazed-driving manager to doe-eyed, pouty and innocent without even pausing for breath. The character Cha Do Ha doesn’t make any sense!! Secondly, there’s zero chemistry between Park Hae Jin and Kim Min Jung so the romance between their characters feels forced, is unconvincing and painful to watch. Finally, Cha Do Ha’s pouting and the Bambi-eyed look she wears in nearly every scene are annoying and really unappealing for a woman in her mid-thirties.
Aside from the characters Cha Do Ha and Cha Myung Suk who I also found annoying, I liked the other characters including Mr Lee who is a good foil to Agent K and Mr Jang, charismatic baddies Mo Seung Jae and Mr Seo, Woon Gwang’s entourage, Do Ha’s best friend, the mysterious and smart Song Mei Eun who has kept me wondering whose side she's really on (I still don't know yet), and Song Mei Eun’s friend and confidant Sharon Kim. All the different relationships work except for the one between Agent K and Cha Do Ha. (I gave Acting/Cast 6/10 and Rewatch Value 2/10 because of the Cha Do Ha character.)
Tip: skip the romance scenes to enjoy the story and action.

For the female Lead, Kim Min Jung awesomeness throughout! , I never stopped laughing the whole way through the series because of her too. This is surely Jung's best work ever, even now.You can switch your brain off and literally laugh yourself to tears watching the scenes in which she acts in. She Carries this series too, no doubt and her performance in this is extremely underrated.
in despite the fact the female lead Kim Min Jung is not as pretty as you want to be like other beautiful goddess woman in popular k series. however, She is also one of the reasons why i always keep on watching Man to man more than 20 times and even skipped exciting action scene, funny bromance and other serious moments just to watch how so funny and charming do ha's in the series.
For those who says do ha is annoying, i assure they are just being envious because they're idol actresses can't even act way more funny and doing being so cute as do ha's did in the series. in my opinion, this is the best series I've ever watched so far very funny and gives you thrills and excitement. at the first half of the series the relationship between seol woo (agent k) and do ha (un gwang's manager) is not like the typical lovers like romantic relationship with each other, it is more likely on quarreling relationship with each other and that's why i found this series very funny and so truly cute because of them. as the story goes for them after the half of this series will be really surprisingly. They both are perfectly suited for their characters, their acting is too appealing and their chemistry is too amazing. I am extremely in love with romance. They were so sweet to each other, I really feel romantically excited when they are kissing, specially the last two kissing scenes that are highly cute and truly romantic. I feel very sorry for those who saying do ha is annoying, I am very sure that they had severe mental disorder, those brainless, badly need an expert psychiatrist to treat them very well because they are suffering from severe mental illness, how so sad :( . hopefully, they will get better soon.
If you are looking for a great time, and just want to relax, sit down, and laugh your ass off with Highly Romantic Scene, then this is must-see. Absolutely hilarious and very enjoyable, I would highly recommend Man to Man to anyone looking for a Excellent Action Comedy Romance Genre.

What a let down...
After 11 episodes, I had to put this on hold. The story started off so strong but as we went along it just became a drag to watch. I was expecting more interactions between Hae jin and Sung woong with like funny and awkward bl moments that would give the fl the wrong impression but they decided to just make it a regular boring ml/fl romcom instead.Min Jung, this is my first drama watching her and goodness gracious is she annoying. Like every time she is on screen I instantly became annoyed; she literally doesn't add to the plot and is just a barrier for progression. Hae jin's character in the drama, K, said that she isn't attractive- he's right.
This had so much potential especially with Hae jin and Sung woong so it's really disappointing that I have to let this one go- I wouldn't recommend it.

Though this was promoted as a spy series, it kind of isn’t. It’s more so a dramedy series with a little bit of spying and romance thrown in.
The actors are all well cast and do great with the material given. The story starts strong when Seol-woo is actually working as a spy, but then quickly loses momentum when it gets bogged down with the power struggle between the Congressman and Seung Jae. It didn’t make sense why a national secret intelligence agency would be involved in what seemed like a case of corruption etc., on a local level.
Despite the weaknesses in the overall story, I thought the series was most fun when they did revisit the spy game i.e. the trip to Russia and the Asian Investment Forum. The bromance between Seol-woo and Woo-gwang was also fun as was the romance he developed with Cha Do-ha. Though very cute, I can see why many thought she wasn’t beautiful enough to attract the attention of the extremely attractive Seol-woo, but I think that’s what made the romance work. She wasn’t rich and glamorous, just an ordinary woman working in the film industry, but she had some spunk and pretty much called his scam from the moment she met him. She was likely very different from the women he’d encountered on his previous missions, which is what fueled his attraction to her.
I did like some of the twists in the story i.e. one of the enemies switching sides, one of the allies working in a gray area while another was completely dirty. Some twists were completely predictable which is not at all uncommon with most tv series.
I will say I didn’t get some of the character’s choices in the end. One in particular was baffling considering her choice it seemed to remain aligned with someone who’d participated in corruption that included murder, attempted murder and kidnapping.
Overall it was a descent series. Not outstanding, but not terrible either. I think the strong acting saved this a LOT, most especially when the plot was a little iffy.

The plot fits perfectly the definition of my own guilty pleasure; if you've got a thing for spy / romance dramas, then this one is for you!
Although the plot lacked a lot: it didn't bring anything new, the action scenes weren't so spectacular and the characters didn't show much depth.
The thing that saved it all for me was the cast: i fell all over again for park hae jin, kim min jung's acting was fresh and full of cuteness, park sung woong did a really good job at making me get attached to his character and the supporting roles weren't so bad either.
I won't say i'll watch it again but if you've got nothing to do and netflix on, you could probably have a good time watching this drama!

Kim Min Jung (Cha Do Ha). She got on my nerves. I didn't like her attitude. Months later after I placed this drama on hold I found the drama called Bad guys, which Park Hae Jin (Kim Seol Woo) is also a main character in. Looking back I realized that I missed and wanted to know the ending of Man to Man. I held through and mad it to the end
Park Hae Jin's facial expression and his interaction with Park Sung Woong (Yeo Woon Gwang) through the drama are hilarious.
I love the action, but I have no love for the romance. I honestly preferred the female from the first episode.

Hooked from start
I was HOOKED from the first episode - Park Hae Jin was so charming in his every expression and the chemistry between the main characters was just so good. I never thought I'd be recalling the bromance along with the OST even a week after finishing the show, but here I am reminiscing. I'm no critic, but this show is a must watch for anyone who loves a spy romcom. Check out the OST on Spotify too, just listening to it brings back memories. My only qualm is that when I tried rewatching it immediately, it didn't have the same charm after the first few episodes.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?
It is one of my favorite kdrama series so far, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
A truly impressive, highly romantic and hilariously funny Kseries ever. ManXMan is an absolutely brilliant, perfectly casted satire that should not be missed by fans of action, romance, comedy, or fun. It all plays into a very interesting and unique humor style. Expect non-stop entertainment as excellent humour is mixed with an interesting yet simple plot, heartfelt moments, romantic scenes and exciting action. The jokes are fast paced and relentless, without it being tiresome. I found it hilarious within the first 3 episodes and was laughing heartily throughout the entire series, but there's no denying that the action sequences are incredibly well done. There were so many memorable moments in this series for me. Hae jin and Sung woo make a great bromance couple, and have great chemistry together.I'm not usually a humor kseries kind of person, but this kseries really drew me in. It had something special, a love charm, a wonderful cast, and lots of action, funny cute romance. I liked it very much . My favorite character was Hae jin, I have known guys like him and they are always interesting. Keeping this brief, this is no doubt the funniest Kdrama I've ever seen.
The female lead was unique and the performance of Kim min jung was completely unforgettable (And easily the best performance of her entire career) Min jung played Cha do ha to perfection that I can't really digest her performance in any other K Series; she is and will always remain the doe- eyed, innocent, charming, super cute, hilariously funny and lovable Do ha to me. The rest of the cast are quite perfect for their roles as well. Romantic scenes are amazingly beautiful, I love it because of their chemistry specially dating and kissing scenes are highly cute. At first, Seol-woo kim is very rude to Doha, Although he treats her terribly at first, he develops feelings for her after working together and her proving to be more useful and caring than their initial meeting. They even get together within the series, which is often rare for Korean couples. Although their personalities are different, the amount of love and mutual respect for one another is absolutely remarkable.
It was surprisingly funny in an unexpected way and everyone in the room was laughing constantly while watching ManxMan! So just ignore all bad comments from pitiful dumb-ass nigga and go and see the series for yourself, because humor obviously differs per person. I loved every single aspect of this series. It is one of my favorite kdrama series so far, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It deserves even more praise and raving reviews.
