Such a waste of time

OMG
This is the dumbest waste Korean drama I have ever seen, the director took 20 episodes to prove he has no brain and useless. Even this drama aired at long back I mean at 2015 but I have seen very good Korean dramas, if you watch those dramas you can clearly see the effort in all things but here there is zero effort from the direction team. May be this drama got this rating only because of cast and little by musicians but from the script and screenplay perspective they have killed the drama. In this drama I can only accept one thing the way they they have shown the dark side of the real world but the way they shown how everything comes to control and how the justice served to the culprits is really dumb and unacceptable. Initially everyone was backstabbing to ML and FL because they are afraid of the rich and powerful people that is understandable but in the end of the drama how they shown become good peoples is really dumb, suddenly they become very brave and law abide citizens. Some time they say something in the court and after that same peoples says they lied on that time and court believed everything they said every time and no punishment for perjury. I will tell one such absolutely dumb one, once the culprit got bail because he had no past criminal records and after that in the court it’s proved that the culprit tried to tamper or threaten the witnesses but still he is on bail and roaming outside. When it was middle of the drama the powerful people killed those who wants to hurt or damage even for little or small issues but at the ending of the drama they were simply sitting and watching without harming anyone even though when their ship is going to sink completely. At the end no was harmed, I can agree this can happen only when you are planned and executed properly but the way it is shown in this drama it is completely dumb and unrealistic, like, the name of the secret room is secret room because no one can easily find that room but here they kept open like the public building main door and can any one come in and go as their wish. Like this I can say hundreds of dumb things of this drama, finally in overall what I can say is the direction is so immature and amateur.

I'll just give this drama a 4/10 . This drama is basic and I really didn't got hooked up on the storyline/plot and the OSTs of this drama. Though I think the acting of the actors and actresses here are good, but I got bored while watching it. This is the first drama of Yoo Seung-Ho (Seo Jin-Woo) that I didn't like much. Even though the genre of this drama is thriller, I didn't find it that suspense and entertaining.

The only thing I like in this drama is Ahn Soo-Bum (Lee Si Un's character) and the ending. In my opinion the way that this drama ends gives a somewhat nice ending for this drama.

When I first watched this show last year I didn't get to write a review for it since I wasn't writing reviews back then to put down my thoughts, so all my thoughts of the drama back then can't be replicad but the feelings I felt watching the drama a second go round are just as good if not better since I know the actors alot more this time round. My main reason of watching "Remember" the first time round was the actor Yoo Seung Ho who is one of my favourite actors to date and I loved his stellar performance in this. I came back to this show to re-experience the emotions I felt the first time but in my opinion it was better because I overlooked some of the acting of other actors due to my tunnel vission on Yoo Seung Ho which isn't a entirely a bad thing in my opionion.

Throughout the drama the theme of revenge drives the plot to the end as the ML who has limited time is trying to put Nam Gyu Man in prison because he caused his father to recieve the death sentence and be treated poorly which lead to his death. There are other genres in the drama such as Romance which wasn't teh main focus but certainly gave us eye candy since Yoo Seung Ho and Park Min Young look amazing together, the main genre was law as this drama was a court room drama at it's essence with the drive of revenge pushing the story.

Seo Jin Woo as a character is one of the most admirable characters I have seen , his life just can't catch a break. What people wouldv'e thought as a blessing to where he has hyperthemisia which is where you can remember any event in vivid detail but infact it's a curse to him because he also get alzheimer's. His ability to remember only just speeds up the symptoms to the point they show at the age of 23 which is very young. Overally he was a very smart and brave character who kept his convictions throughout the entire story and never betreayed himself. Revenge was the thing which drove him throughout teh show but through the journey he went through, he met some people and formed some amazing bonds, but his biggest bond that he formed was with Lee In Ah, in which was the only person in which belived him even at the very start of the story where no one would believe him. His relationship with her is quite sad because they love eachother but it would inevitably end due to Jin Woo forgetting about her which is a sad thought because he was only 23. The decision to let go of all the people around him and In Ah was very mature and selfless of him because he knows firsthand how sad and lonely it can be when someone you love doesn't remember you and can be saddening so for the sake of the people around him he left without a trace.

Lee In Ah was a character who doesn't have any special ability to remember anything or any wealth which gives her power so that in it self emphasises all her actions in the drama because if Gyu Man was determined he could ruin her life and the people around her. When she first met Jin Woo as a college student, she was very naive in a way as she only saw the things in front of her and never thought about the things she doesn't see but after meeting Jin Woo her whole midnset changed and she started to take things more seriously and ultimatly became a prosecuter because of Jin Woo but also because an attourney because of Jin Woo. You could say that In Ah wouldv'e done anything for Jin Woo if he allowed it but he knew she would only hurt so he let her go.

Nam Gyu Man's actor Nam Goong Min did an amazing job depicting a whiney chabeol who belives he is the law and nothing wrong will happen to him. Everytime he had an outbreak of anger his acting was just perfect .

The OST in this show was just perfect for the show and I mean that. The instrumentals especially shone in this show as it made the scenes alot more dramatic. Also the OST played when Jin Woo got the not-guilty verdict for his dad made me feel so emotional since it just highlights how much he has put in and he can finally rest easy with his life,

Overall this show is just one of my favourite shows as it stars many actors I addore watching on the screen and also my favourite actor of all time Yoo Seung Ho and that will not change for a long time and you would need someone better than perfect to take that top spot. If your looking for a law drama driven be revenge with a hint of romance, this show is just for you.

Makes you feel the emotions of the character

What I loved about this drama is that it made you feel the emotions the characters felt. Whenever the main character is sad, you feel sad. Whenever a character is angry, you feel angry. I caught myself yelling at my computer during some scenes. This drama did such a great job at invoking emotions in the viewer to match the emotion(s) of the character/characters. Additionally, this will have you rooting for the main characters and have you on the edge of your seat (especially during the courtroom scenes). Overall, the acting in this was amazing and all the actors did such as a great job.

Drama excelente!

Alzheimer’s stories are sad

When I first started watching this drama I wasn’t sure I would watch the whole series because I quickly get bored with power and greedy people who trample on the have nots. So when I saw that Min Namkoong was in it, I decided to watch it. Of course his acting doesn’t disappoint; yet his character was so psychopathic that I found myself FFing through some of his scenes and his minions.

The actor that reeled me in was Yoo Seung-ho as Jin Woo and Park Sung Woong as Dong ho. I hoped that Jin Woo would get Dong Ho to see the error of his way, and was happy they ended on good terms. It was mostly Jin Woo though that kept me watching. It was sad enough that he had to deal with the wrongs committed against his father but he also had to deal with his Dad’s Alzheimer’s and his own. He just never lost heart.

Tearjerker!
Within the first couple of episodes I was already crying.
Remember was such a well written drama that was cast perfectly. I like that they chose actors with ages that reflected the characters. It just helps bring the story to life even more. There's a lot of sadness, fear, and anger that have to be shown and they all did an amazing job with that. Especially Nam Goong Min. He really brought his character to life. You will 100% have a certain feeling towards him.
There's definitely chemistry between Yoo Seung Ho and Park Min Young but I appreciate that not being the focus. They added just enough of a love story for this to be enjoyable but still true to the main story.
Watching this drama, it didn't take long to know that the ending would have me crying. Watching each episode knowing what would probably happen was tough but the writers did a great job adding some happiness as well.
Overall I think this is an amazing thriller that doesn't disappoint. I will be adding this as one of my favorite thrillers.

they gave my emotions a roller coaster ride

One thing that I would like to compliment in this show is the plot. It was neatly written from start to finish that the story did not go astray and gave us exactly just what we needed from start to finish. The writer did not waste time delving with so much side stories, nor giving everyone background stories, but went straight to the point with the main character and his mission to take down the baddies in this drama. Although I must say, there are plenty of court scenes than necessary, the story also had enough plot twists that it kept me seated on my chair and toes, making the audience eager to find out more. It was so intense I went and finish the whole show in just two days!!

Next thing I would like to comment on is the acting, and Yoo Seung Ho was just the perfect guy for the job! His emotions were delivered well, his crying scenes also made me cry. Park Min Young also did well as the Noona, and Nam Goong Min as the evil guy. He is just so scary when he's mad, that even the audience could feel his anger. I just think no one could ever top this line up of actors for the show. Everyone was perfect for their roles! <3

The OSTs were also nice, I liked them when listening to them separately from the show, but during the show itself I didnt think it was too memorable, since the drama was already intense, adding a few sad songs here and there didn't really stick out much.

9/10 overall, because I loved the show! The amount of romance, comedy, drama and seriousness for this show was just the right balance. I liked how everything was wrapped and resolved neatly at the end. Everything was almost perfect however, I think the writers could have given us a better ending than this. Our lead guy struggled and went through a lot of things for five years, they should have given him a happier ending, I also think the audience deserves a better closure after watching 20 episodes and playing with our emotions like that. T_T

The Incredible Cast Could Not Save This Train Wreck.

I will start with the cons first, because I like to end on a happy note.

Story:
What an interesting story! The idea of hypermnesia was very intriguing to me, although I will admit I came because of YSH who does a wonderful job here. Despite this, however, the things which draw us in (like the hypermnesia) get pushed to the side over and over again until they are suddenly brought back as a necessary plot device. Once more, the plot demands a ridiculous price from such a production, leaving the audience with little satisfaction throughout the journey.

Sub plots get recycled continuously at an exhausting rate. The writer does just enough to keep things interesting by, like I said, bringing back in the things that we are actually interested in like human relationships and Jin Woo’s memory. These are the things which kept me watching (even though I knew I was being conned) as well as the phenomenal performances by the rest of the main cast.

Cast/Acting:
After seeing Nam in Chief Kim, I was stunned to see him here as an opposite roll. He once again takes the job and completely immerses in it. He was perfect in every way.

I don’t have much to say about the chemistry between the actors. I saw them more as separate than playing off of each other as well because they all had such separate character arcs.

Park Min Young worked very well with the other actors. Though normally seen as a rom com actress, she shows some range here as more of a supporting character. As a character with less of a story than the others, she did a beautiful job of being there for other actors to play off of and reacting as a real person. Her expressions and body language were really wonderful.

Honestly, the wonderful acting of the main cast was the best part of this show and most worth watching for me. However, it was still not enough to make it a worthwhile story in the end.

Production:
The camera work and storytelling was uninteresting and disenchanting. I recognize that more care has since been taken into these things in recent years, but the lack of innovation has little to do with time and money.

The main example of this which I have seen others complain about is likely the drama being too long with the first four episodes being setup episodes. Just as easily we could have seen the back story with flash backs (not Come and Hug Me’s too many flashbacks, I mean) or set up more of the story before having a flashback episode to tell their story which could just as easily of been told in one episode as opposed to four.

Killing your darlings is a real thing, but I strongly believe that there was no reason we needed to spend so much time setting up the story. More time does not mean more effective as we see with “Tunnel” and its first setup episode (while it’s not a flashback, I think they can be reasonably compared).

Overall, this was an interesting drama that struggled with its pacing and plot. However, the characters and cast do a wonderful job to pull the audience in and keep us watching.

As always, I appreciate all the work that went into the making of this drama. So many hours went into this, and I am grateful that it was made so that I could see it and get to enjoy it!

Perplexed

Another review by Jeani said it all. But I could not get past how the three main characters who are attorneys that investigated people to the detail, did not immediately investigate each other from the start! "Oh we keep meeting on the same day at the cemetery. What a coincidence!" I wanted to shake them. But honestly all those storyline buildups didn't really pan out to have impact. The main lead is a terrific actress but they didn't give her much. The villain was fantastic acting wise albeit on occasion it seemed over the top. The main lead's acting is more natural in later dramas than in this one which is a bit stiff and doe eyed. Was it watchable? Yes. It just won't be memorable.
