Royal Sister Returns (2017)

I was really excited for Royal Sister Returns because I loved Ady An in Autumn's Concerto and  my preference is for modern dramas. Ady An and Zhu Yi Long are great as the leads for Royal Sister Returns - they're charming, funny, and have great chemistry.  I loved that her character was  determined and motivated in pursuit of her dreams. So why did I give this drama such a low rating? While it started out really enjoyable for the first ~14 episodes,   the story then took several infuriating turns. The villains were unbearable (I can't handle the spoiled brat characters that are so common in Chinese dramas), and the worst drama cliches were utilized. As if that wasn't enough, the final plotline was so absolutely ridiculous. Just thinking about it makes me angry  all over again. I do think of the main couple very fondly, and just try to pretend that the latter half of the drama never happened.

Regarding the music, I loved the song  Crazy Love sung by the lead Zhu Yi Long.

I am wasting my time giving a review just because this drama got me so irritated. Yes it is my fault. My rating of 6.5 is very generous, given only because An, ZYL and other cast did a good job. The story started funny, light and okay until around 20 something episodes. After the family and business problem got resolved for the main leads the scriptwriters should have ended this drama with happily ever after....but no! this drama would continue on with kidnapping, amnesia, marrying the antagonist out of guilt and to fulfill her dying wishes. Topping all this off is the open ending where the main leads meet again but are separated by water fountains and smiling bittersweet to each other...for me this is a sad ending.

The beginning was great! Lots of funny scenes. Great chemistry between the main leads. Then there's the first plot twist which turned out to be a misunderstanding. Then there's the 2nd plot twist with the hero getting amnesia. If that's not bad enough, the way he suddenly recovered his memory was ridiculous too. Things seemed to be going well. But another bomb was dropped. The main characters had to separate just to fulfill one of the character's wish because she was dying of cancer. I mean seriously? Was the writer possessed or drunk? Heck this drama went from almost a 10 to almost zero if not for the awesome actors and great soundtrack by Zhu Yi Long. Overall, it's watchable but the storyline is ridiculous. I don't think it's a waste of time watching this. Despite the crappy storyline, it's still an entertaining drama.

söylenecek çok fazla söz yok...........................................Ben iki bölüm izlemeye zor tahammül ettim...................................... başrol aktris izlemek zulümdü......saçma sapan abartılı rolü onu dahada sıkıcı yaptı. birde uzun tırnaklardan tiksiniyorum onu öyle izlemek işkenceydi....................... ve buna daha fazla katlanamadan ikinci bölümden sonra izleyemeye dayanamadım.................hem gözlerime yazık hem zamanıma yazık............tamamen fiyasko başrol aktrislerin şımarık çocuklardan beter velet hallerine sinirleniyorum........ kısacası izlemeye değmez.

Not worth the time.

Probably nobody or not many people gonna watch it but still I feel like reviews should save the time for others. so I am writing.

I don't know if it was like back 5-6yrs, I would have enjoyed it but now it's a complete no. I am not when this was filmed but aired on 2017, so I was expecting it won't be like the old ones. The drama, cinematography, costumes everything looked like they were filmed way before.

The main point is story of this drama. I had not much hopes on this but still was expecting something fine after checking out the year it came out. The story starts off. She ending up as a maid, was kinda ridiculous. Still I convinced myself thinking since she came back from US. But her role felt shit in the start. She is career driven but not strong at all. And the way she behaved was almost like those spoiled kids from any drama. They tried to make funny but they weren't funny to me. The side characters were fine. Not good not bad.
The story started as romance and was alright until ep 21? I think. But then it keeps dragging. And the story still continued after clearing up everything about business and revenge. And this is just romnce but it's like a makjang. If you are not into soap operas please try to avoid this drama.

Started fine but went down the hill. If you want to watch this drama, watch till episode 25 and the. You can skip to last ep. There nothing much except for extra drama tland unnecessary things. It's like a makjang. Not exactly a rom-com. The family issues start. And all repeated cliché story line. It's like multiple ideas were mixed together and made into a cocktail. Was expecting something better when I watched a scene of YT shorts but no. It's nothing like that. FL doesn't seem like as strong as she is shown. Sudden changes, sudden decisions. ML for the half of the series is mama's boy. Later he cares for his mother but idk but from the start he never even tried to clearly say anything to his mother.
This review is all over the place but the main point is not worth it.
