Lee Hyun's dad thinks that he's a monster and is afraid that he would become someone like Joon Young when he grows up. So he decides to isolate Lee Hyun from the world. Joon Young manages to escape from prison and goes to Lee Hyun's house to kill his father and Lee Hyun loses a part of his memory about that night. While working on the case, Lee Hyun discovers a painting with a symbol that his brother, Lee Min, used to draw as his signature. So he asks his friend to search the painter. (Source: Viu)

In the thick of things

Firstly, did anyone notice the sudden camera change at the start of the episode as opposed to the pilot? Why did the ambulance transporting the creepy inmate to the hospital have to be CGI? Did anyone else get reminded of Anna and Elsa when Lee Hyeon's brother asks him to come out of the basement school.
Also can someone acknowledge what a jerk the father is, the kid actually said 'why not just ask me' and still he goes on with the ridiculous plan of prison school.
I know it is early to say this but my money is on the little brother, he is the final villain.

Cliffhanger alert!

Um, this is how you do it. Never was I confused or lost (or bored) in the flashbacks that are setting up this drama. And oh boy is it set up well. At this point the setup for what is clearly going to be a cat and mouse game between Lee Hyun and Jun Yeong is down so well that I have to see this drama to the end. The history between the two is amazing. It's a clear Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty style of crime solving and killer is going to be going on.

The mystery of who Lee Hyun to himself is tantalizing. Especially as we're given the same glimpses that he remembers. What true evidence could have prompted a father to fear that his son is a monster. Especially since Lee Hyun seems so charming, if arrogant and different. But like his father stated normal people can hide demons. Angelic faces hide monsters. The fact that while Lee Hyun has been well developed, it's such a rush to wonder about who he really is. (But this is a drama, I doubt they'd make him a protagonist.)

So far I like the cast and set up that is going on with the other characters. They're not lost in the build up and not everyone is given a flashback for development. Though I feel like the lead female character Ji An will be given one. Hopefully just to clear up this disturbing stalker talk. No really stalking Lee Hyun is creepy. For me that can go wrong for this drama, so wrong.

The serial murders here are well constructed. Especially the evidence that seems to be leading to Jun Yeong being back. That Lee Hyun reaching out in an interview is being answered . . . oh it's good. The drama is still keeping itself on a fairly light ton despite it dark story. With this solid follow up to the first episode I'm hoping that I Remember You is going to turn into an exceptionally written drama. Because I Remember You has blown away every single expectation I've had about it.
