Date - Koi to wa Donna Mono Kashira (2015)

Both dramas centers on socially awkward characters and their desire for a domestic life.

Both of these dramas have the male lead while educated is unemployed and relies their mother for money.

Jun is an 18-year-old high school student. He hides the fact that he is gay from his mother and other people. Miura-san is a classmate of Jun. She likes reading books about BL (genre depicting homoerotic stories). Jun tells Miura-san that BL is just fantasy and that gayness in real life is dirty. Miura-san tells Jun that his remark is offensive to gay people. Nevertheless, Jun and Miura-san become close. Jun becomes interested in Miura-san, and Miura-san begins to have feelings for Jun. One day, Miura-san tells Jun that she likes him.

An emotional coming-of-age drama centered around Andou Jun, a gay student who is not out. He accepts a confession from his fujoshi classmate Miura Sae and they start dating. However, Jun is also seeing Makoto, but fails to tell Sae about his male lover.

In each drama, the lead heroine is desperatly seeking a husband.

Hazuki, working for stationary manufacturer for a year, dates Satoru, held back at university. Things hasnt been going well between Hazuki and Satoru, and Hazuki starts dating Yasuda whom she met at the matchmaking party. On a Valentines day, Hazuki hands a chocolate to Yasuda which meant that he was her most favorite. In return, Yasuda gave her ear rings on a White day. But after receiving a present from Yasuda, Hazuki realizes something very important. When she opened her post after coming back from a date, there was a present from Satoru

Both dramas are from the same writer and director. So, they have the same style of comedy and storytelling. If you liked one of these dramas, then you should give the other a try :)

Although one is a drama and the other a movie, both tackle the dating lives and problems of people inserted in the otaku culture. How to Date an Otaku Girl is also very funny, especially if you're familiriazed at least a little bit with the fujoshi culture. If you understand what the word 'fujoshi' means and you liked Date, you'll difinitely like How to Date an Otaku Girl.

Both are awesome Japanese rom-coms. Both are very funny and light-hearted and most likely will make you feel warm and fuzzy in the end :)

-are offbeat but highly introspective romcoms: you laugh and entertained, but in the same time you will learn about something

Yeah, they are completely different genre. Arifureta is romance/ slice of life/ human drama/ family; and Date is more comedy/ romance/ family; but they do have some similar traits:

-main couple have somewhat scarred soul/ unusual conditions; and in dorama we'll be showed how they overcome their problems and grow together as a person and couple
-the family somewhat meddle their relationship
-both dorama have multilayering message and unique aura
-both have some fun; absurd, and wtf moments :XD:

Both have male leads determined not to work and live off their partners or family. Both dramas show the changes occurring to this attitude of the male leads influenced by the female lead.

Both ....

-have an extremely weird and socially awkward male lead
-have main couple with cute love/hate relationship
-have plenty of smart, well written, rapid fire dialogs
-have smart and unique type of funny elements : they can make us sad/cry and laugh/smile simultanously in one scene
-have same underlying message about the true form of love

- Both have rapid-fire, witty dialogues.
- It's all about the search of ... love, friendship, and everything that comes with it.
- The writers have managed to make the contrived extremely entertaining, complete with unexpected twists.
- Ensemble cast.
- While it's apparent who the lead couple is, the supporting cast is equally great and elevates the drama!
