If you only focused on the news coverage part then this two drama are very similar, then only difference may be that Pinocchio did a better job incorporating many of the potential boom that we sense in Spotlight but that at the time the writers and directors fail to bring to fruition. Still I feel that it a great idea to actually watch Spotlight because you get a better appreciation of Pinocchio.

Both about families with serious problems and broken bonds that someone comes to help them reconstruct their relationships and become a real family again.

Both have practically the same story. The problematic father who has debts to pay, the main male lead singer, the male second lead businessman that works with the female lead, an annoying second female lead, etc.

The atmosphere in both Tokyo DOGS and Bitter Blood involves comedy, as well a reoccurring villain for most of the episodes. Both also explore the relationship between the two main characters who make up a hilarious duo, as well as between them and the supporting characters (their team). Both also focus on the characters' roles as detectives. If you love one, you'll surely love the other!

Both revolve around a detective trying to catch a murderer only to find that the murders have been drawn in extreme detail by someone who's seemingly not the murderer. In this movie the murders are shown through web toons and in gifted hands the murders are shown through graffiti. Both are pretty intense and pretty interesting.

Drama is filled with anger, hatred, post, sadness, lots of intrigue, broken hearts, and love will prevail at the end.
