Saved from bird poo.

This drama is so much fun! The save-the-girl-and-dip-hug-hold-close move was triggered by falling bird poo. Points for effort and slow motion bird poo fall. Man I laughed my butt off.

But try not to smile or laugh. This show is effortlessly funny and feel good.

I've decided the charm of Beautiful Gong Shim isn't in the drama story per se, but the characters and their development. From episode one we already know what is going to transpire between Dan Tae and Joon Soo. But I love that the writers are making the effort to let us get to know them both, AND for them to become friends!!

Man I adore Gong Shim, and I hope the writers never give her a makeover! I think she is the cutest thing ever! I just want to pat her head whenever she goes dinging that bike bell. It's refreshing that she knows when to be humble, and when to tell someone off! It's like a sweet balm to me. (Especially since some of the other dramas I've been watching have made me yell at the female leads to stand up for themselves!)

Gong Mi isn't just an evil sister. I feel for her. Think how hard you've worked to become a lawyer just to have that group of men (dogsters!) minimize you to window dressing. Gosh. I highly doubt she couldn't find work else where. Though looking into Korea's Gender Equal Employment Act (GEEA) and Korea’s labor laws things aren't peachy-keen. Despite all advancements it's still hard for females to get protection after reporting the issue. (Or even if someone--even electronic systems--reporting issues.) It makes me sad. So while it is being dramatized for the drama I think it is a high topic issue in Korea and I'm glad they're touching on it here.

Though that's not to say I wouldn't want Gong Mi to have sided with her sister. If she had just pushed for the woman to apologize it would have been over. But I guess her cover blown. But to me if someone did that to my sister I wouldn't let it slide.

Overall I love the humor and characters here! They're so fun and I love how the entire cast acts together. Especially with Gong Shim. When Gong Shim, Dan Tae, and Joon Soo I can't stop smiling. They all have such chemistry together. Though I wonder how often girls quickly "beautify" themselves and hope that the other people don't notice? Personally that's silly. But, hey, it got me laughing. It's also this fun little game to wonder when everyone will officially meet Gong Mi. Dan Tae has in passing now, and he already knows what she did to Gong Shim. But I'm curious for when Joon Soo meets her as Gong Min is "staking/stalking" his profile now.

Sweet like cotten candy.

From this day on when I look at cotton candy, or eat it, I will always be reminded how fleeting life and those we love are. That they can melt away. Thanks to this episode.

It was moving to see Min Ho make that connection as he spent time with his mother, Hee Ja. Which was a beautiful touch because Hee Ja and Jung Ah's story this episode felt off. Hee Ja and Jung Ah's friendship is something I adore about Dear My Friends. However, since the last cliffhanger I didn't care for it. I'll admit their plight made me laugh at some ponts, but overall it feels like such an overly contrived turn of events. Not to mention that it takes a away from this simple and sweet story.

So far the charms of Dear My Friends is the life of these older woman and they're family. Park Wan's drama was the big twist. But now I'm actually really nervous to see what happens. Either Hee Ja and Jung Ah are gong to jail and they're done. Or they'll drag it all out dramatically. But I'll keep the faith, I really enjoy what the show brings.

Park Wan's dramatic love story . . . makes me feel a little off. I pretty much guessed everything about it and I'm disappointed. I'm pretty sure the next episode will wrap up the rest of Park Wan's and Yeon Ha's story. I'm hoping Dear My Friends will pull a twist that won't make the whole love triangle between park Wan, Yeon Ha, and Dong Jin so . . . ugh.

This episode just didn't sit right with me. I actually enjoyed other side stories/teases more. Such as what Jung Ah's daughter was going through. Though I called it, they're phoning that plot in so far. Choong Nam is getting her GED! You go girl. Yeong Won really looks out for everyone. Especially all of the women's kids apparently.

So episode 4 has rolled around. I'm in, though I feel like the story could really fall apart. I hope the show can keep the sweet and warm feel it had up to this point. I loved the view points of the older women. I don't think they need to pull out drama twists to do it. I'm really nervous about Hee Ja and Jung Ah's stories. Not to mention that I really want to like Park Wan, but if her story goes the way I think it will . . . . well don't kill off all your lead stories! Right now I actually want more on the sub plots and characters.

A fun start.

I've been very interested in this drama since I found out it was by the writer behind It's Okay, That's Love. When the synopsis finally released and it said it would be about older people I was in love. I've hung out with older people my whole life. It's clear with in the first episode that it captures the essence pretty well. The things that make them annoying, and the things that are sweet and endearing.

So far we're following a group of sisters and friends, along with ones' younger daughter. It's interesting seeing her complain and not want to be around them. All she can see is the annoying aspects of having to deal with them. But the twist is we can see the struggles of these older women and get a look through their eyes.

It's heart warming and plenty of laughs can be found. I love the idea of following this group of woman around. Seeing they're decade long grudges, friendships, and love. Now that I've viewed the episode the start of it has me really scared. Though the episode itself ends on quite a hilarious note. Even older people can act young and dump. Or maybe there's just not that much different between the ages.

Five Stars

Holy, wow! What an awesome ending. Their goal to make me go crazy until I watch the next one was a success. Thank goodness I can immediately watch the next one. So be warned!! You are going to want time to watch epidose 3 and 4 back to back.

What an amazing cast! Not a single actor so far feels out of place. They all fit and I really love the 2015 Cold Case Unit. I'm hoping to get more on the other two members. Soo Hyun is definitely developing into one of my favorite female drama detectives and I'm itching for the writers to develop her some more. Hae Yeoung is very fascinating as a rookie profiler. I love that despite his doubts he's still willing to believe the walkie-talkie is transmitting to the past if it could save lives. The writers handled that doubt and eventual belief well.

Signal definitely doesn't show the cops as good or bad. Oh, we know who are good guys are. But everything is gray as politics and power plays seem to rule the cases.

Some viewers may not find this episode as fast paced as the first two. True, it's setting up how Hae Yeong and Jae Han handle the transmissions. Not to mention the consequences it leads to in the present and past. To me it felt even more intense. We're still on a timeline. Not only to stop the last murder of the original case, but now the present as well.

This is gonna be a great drama.

Well I had wondered when and how the Hwaseong serial murders would pop in. The first episodes case had me riveted and I'm sure that the overall case of Yoon-Jung's kidnapping is just the beginning. After all it looked as if Detective Jae Han is murdered because of that case.

When again the connection between Hae Young and Jae Han are reached it's clear that things are starting over again. It also makes me wonder if in the first episode Detective Jae Han had already been communicating with Hae Young. So now, for Jae Han at least, time is resetting and we're going back further to before he became a detective and the Hwaseong serial case is currently at 7 murders.

I know I said it before but I really liked Frequency back in the day. In fact it still remains one of my favorite movies.

The fact that Signal is so boldly setting up the plot thrills me!! Not to mention that the criminal from the first episode is clearly going to be part of the story. Who knows how big the role, but somehow she's important to what happens to Jae Han. Besides the actress is amazing as a devious criminal mind. She gives me goose bumps with the way she is portraying the character.

Overall I like the idea of the heat and discussion of South Korea's statue of limitations. I have a thing for murder/crime dramas so when I first heard of the 15 year rule of how long a case remains open and then once closed there can be no convictions as fascinating. And extremely stupid. In Signal South Korea removes statute of limitations, which echoes some of the real life changes made in 2015.

The setup of the cold case unit and how they've come to reopen the Hwaseong serial murders case fits nicely. Not too contrived. I like the people picked for the unit, though it's more of a career death sentence. The ending is amazing as a murder becomes a attempted murder when Hae Young and Jae Han accidently change the past. Bravo!

Two timer.

That's right Lee Gak is a two timer. Why is he making such grand overtures to Park Ha? It's not a time difference thing. Heck, he would be way out of line in his time period. So he knows what he is doing. He's flirting and making Park Ha come to his every beck and call. While still pursuing Se Na.

Not to mention that Park Ha hasn't learned yet! She has a psycho sister who let her be purposely driven away as a 9 year old and almost got her killed. Then upon that she's been treating her like Park Ha was the one to do it to her. Park Ha isn't trusting, she's dumb.

Not to mention the ending of this episode. Se Na is a piece of work. First of all I think Park Ha would have a lock on her room. But I don't like where this is going. Se Na is winning too much. The good guys need to score a few points to. Especially since Se Na really isn't explored. She does it to try and advance herself is the big assumption. Because she's an evil sister.

I did have a good time but there were a lot of sticky points for me. Both Lee Gak and Park Ha are not using their brains. I don't like how Park Ha drops everything for someone she knows is wooing another person. Especially Se Na who treats her like dirt. Park Ha needs to consider outing Se Na somehow. Or at least wising up enough not to leave herself open to attack.

This episode had a lot of tender moments. But it's tempered by Lee Gak's rude choice to romance two woman. And Se Na getting Park Ha ousted.

Stepped up.

This episode definitely steps up it's game. We're now seeing "fate" in play. And I'm reassured that Tae Yong has not possessed Lee Gak. Instead Lee Gak has realized that he is pulled to a time where his reincarnation was, but now is dead. That other reincarnations are here, but two souls can not be in the same time period. So I'm hoping that means Tae Young is really dead, and no surprises.

So now the mystery of how the Crown Princess died and what happened to Tae Yong will be the focus. Though Lee Gak's actions through me! It's so sweet and touching to watch these two grown feelings for each other. But he's convinced he's in love with Crown Princess, though I think he loved the other sister. Now he gets to chose yet again between the new Crown Princess and the sister. Wow.

I think the real power comes from finally seeing Lee Gak think and Park Ha not yelling. Though I don't like seeing Park Ha's various stages of a doormat. We'll see what happens now that she's staying.

This is probably going to be a very drug out denial of romance.

That said he writing finally helps to flesh out some characters and the humor was amazing! The ghost/death scares were wonderfully hilarious. (I love that the maid gets the last faint!) I'm really nervous about Park Ha's character, and what role she will take going forward. There's a lot going on here. I mean somehow things are connected through what happened 2 years ago, quite a stretch. Not to mention the Crown Prince's time period from where he comes from. To the present were everything is meeting up.

It's ambitious and now I'm being sucked in. This is going to be another You're Under Arrest for me isn't it? I want to stop, but there's enough good stuff that I keep going? Or will Rooftop Prince pull through and be awesome?

It's just OK.

Well not much is really going on that's unexpected. Looks like the Prince will probably be taking Tae Yong identity. Sadly to swoon over Se Na. But yeah, he doesn't know that she's evil in both time periods.

I also think it's funny that Park Ha is American enough to not blink at Se Na's house guest. But didn't pick up enough "American" to stand up to Se Na's meanness. It's been apparently 2 years. I think Park Ha no longer has to be nice. Either way Park Ha should stand up for herself regardless.

This episode did a fun job introducing the sweat suit brigade to the 21st century. Sadly everything is as expected and I found myself smiling at a few of the antics of the guys, but mostly bored. Especially since none of the characters are interesting. They're all basic stereotypes and I haven't found a single one to care about.

Twenty episodes? Yeah there is going to be some filler in this one. At this point I think the acting is great, but the pacing and writing is mediocre. Hopefully things will click and Rooftop Prince will find its legs. Because I'm wondering what all the buzz was about.

Save the princess, save the world.

Sorry I couldn't resist.

A very promising start! I enjoyed that this episode started off with two murders, and wonder if those killed will stay dead. Or perhaps the time travel moon will alter things . . . or . . .the possibilities are endless!

I enjoyed seeing how the past and present timelines wove stories for the people. Though I think it would be more interesting if the villains and good guys switched around for each period.

Overall this looks pretty good, except for the action sequences. I think they decided to put more effort into the time traveling scenes.

The cast is fun and so far I think the actors can definitely act. The leads are all great. Jung Yoo Mi as Hong Se Na / Hwa Yong makes a crafty villain. I'm most excited to see how the writing weaves her story. Especially as to what happens in the past. Park Yoo Chun is a convincing prince and a savvy modern dude. Han Ji Min is a new to me actress but I already love the quirky warmth she's bringing to the modern day Park Ha. Plus, she doesn't do to bad acting with her eyes when she's wearing that veil as Boo Yong from the past.

The idea that the show will probably evolve around solving the Princesses' murder is an interesting concept. Though I wonder how the Prince will solve it while in the future? It was seamless watching the two time periods work their separate stories and then merge together in the present. I'm wondering if the past will be "on hold" or if we'll see it still continuing on. With the Prince assumed dead? There are so many possibilities with this show. I can see some obvious plot threads to take, but overall I enjoy that there's many mysteries left to solve.

I think I have to quit Jae Myung.

It bothers me that leaving the female lead in the dark is a thing. That the goal of most of the characters is to keep the truth hidden. The truth always comes out. In the case of dramas it either leads to getting said lead hurt physically or emotionally. In real life I doubt the lead would want to stick with people who lied to them.

In the case of Pinocchio I think keeping the truth of In Ha's mother is stupid. It would have made things easier for her to understand how heartless her mother was. Bum Jo is keeping some heavy truths, and to be honest I think it's going to be ugly when it comes out.

But I'm sure In Ha will forgive everything.

What I can say is that I love that In Ha figured it out. I was really worried it was going to be one of those dramas were blatant clues are dropped on the female lead and she keeps skipping down the path of obliviousness. Where the male lead strikes at her due to his tragic past and the connection she is unaware of.

Thank you for not letting that be the case.

Dear Jae Myung. I'm afraid. I totally get why he attacked that reporter in the past and everything. But now I'm afraid. Super afraid. He might have been warped by events too much to come back from. *sighs* This drama is going to break my heart!

Overall a pretty solid episode. The setup and crossover of characters is amazing. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Ugh. The urge to drop this drama is strong.

When it was having this kind of jumbled start I was leery. When there was a dead twin brother mentioned I was made even more leery. Yet the story stabilized and I was swept away!

First off it's horrible that they would use the trope of "we knew each other when we were kids!" (Especially after I just got done seeing it masterfully used in Healer.) Heart to Heart didn't need tropes! There are so many amazing places that the current story could have gone to. BUT to have them pile that Hong Do . . . did that! Ugh.

I want to drop Heart to Heart right now. For now I'm calling a break.

Doo Soo and Se Ro! Amazing. Fighting Se Ro! Fighting!

Still very good, but . . .

To be honest the whole thing with the Chairman seems over done. It's not really a plot line I thought would go past Madame Oh saying she's moving away and gently putting him down.

I enjoy that the storyline is really showing Se Ro off. She's amazing! Instead of staying jealous she befriends Hong Do. She understands that it's bad timing and still wants to try to make it work with Doo Soo. She knows he's the guy she wants.

The reveal about Yi Seok from his therapist is interesting. I also like that he lets Hong Do in. It was a lovely scene.

After that cliffhanger I am super nervous where this show is going to go. The beginning was so rough and it pulled itself together! I don't want to go back into those rough waters again.

He bit his nose!! Ha-ha!

Yi Seok utilizes his dirty fight skills again!

This is a world wind episode! I really wondered how things would come to light about Hong Do's part time job. Well that was one way to do it.

I also found it interesting how Doo Soo (AKA Detective Jang) was handled. It was this brash way that kind of felt like an end to him and Hong Do. Figured he couldn't wait 7 years. To be honest neither guys are very great. They are both selfish. Doo Soo is no exception. I did like the segue into Doo Soo finally seeing Se Ro. Which is great because Se Ro has developed into a fun character.

Man I didn't think the Chairman liked Hong Do that much! But it's so cute, and sad. I really liked how this episode handled things. After that cliffhanger I must push ahead to the next episode.

Man fight!

Wow! That man fight was hilarous! Of course Yi Seok would not only bite, but go for the crouch shots. From the fight, to the police breaking it up, the drinks, and then Detective Jang sleeping over. It was hilarious!!

Not to mention that I have respect for Se Ro. What can I say I like a woman who goes after what/whom she wants. Fighting! You'll get your man.

I love that sweet moment in dramas when the leads realize they're true feelings. Not the "I like you", but when they realize that they love that other person. Despite everything they don't want anyone else. Yi Seok was adorable in his moment of realization.

Don't worry about that cliffhanger. I'm pretty sure we all guessed what it was. At least it's cleared up in this episode and it actually helped to move the story and relationships along.

Despite everything I like Yi Seok and I do think he's just what Hong Do needs. By him being this horrible jerk, with a romantic side, she feels the need to defend herself and others going head to head with him. Allowing her to be herself.

An excellent episode. I'm worried how things will turn out with Yi Seok crushing on Hong Do's grandma disguise. Especially now that he's had what looks like a heart attack. What a way to build up the next episode. Especially with what Yi Seok does for Hong Do.

I'm still holding out hope for Jae Myung!

Wow. They weren't joking about Park Shin Hye finally having a decent kiss. Pinocchio would be worth watching just for this historic moment. Thankfully Pinocchio is a pretty awesome Drama. I love all the little nods to I Hear Your Voice. It's become part of the fun.

I'm gonna guess that an epic love traingle is out of the question. But I do love that the drama isn't teasing us too much.

It was absolute hilatority watching them reasearch and figure out where to caputre video of people slipping. The excitement at capturing people falling in the bad weather made my day. (Wonder what that says about me!) The perfect spot for the report:

"A place where we can capture people making big wipe-outs."

Is it true? Is this a standard story for winter in Seol? Do they capture the big slip every year!! Ha-ha! I love that idea.

But how is she lying by letting people slip? They would have slipped without her being there? So is Pinocchio also a conscious? You hiccup when you lie and feel guilty. But the instant the shots seem morally OK and she "understands" she can do it. Muddy. Besides she keeps hiccupping until she retracts her statement and tells the truth. So who knows the rules! Since Pinocchio Syndrome is a fake thing I'll let it slide. Besides it is fun.

That ending though! It was crazy going from slip and fall to that. I'm rooting for you Jae Myung. Maybe he didn't do what they want us to believe he did. And he still has a chance to redeem himself. It's heart breaking watching Jae Myung and Dal Po's interactions. There's still hope!

What an amazing episode it really got me laughing, but still managed to pack all the feels in an emotional punch.
