Wasted Potential

This series could’ve been great. It had everything going for it to be one of the better anthology series, but it was just missing something.

Some of the episodes were really good. My favourite was definitely episode 3, Remember. I thought Sammy did a phenomenal job. The acting and the story had me tearing up, and the ending really broke me. I also really liked episode 1 with SantaEarth, and I really liked how the rest of the series was inter linked with it with Ozone’s story being continued on in other episodes. Episode 6 was also another favourite; my only complaint is that the ending of that episode felt incomplete.

The rest of the episodes were either fine or unwatchable for me. I could not get into the characters or their stories, making it feel like a chore to get through.

Overall, I think this series could’ve been great if they had an episode where all the characters came together in the end and their stories all joined together, kind of like Love Actually. It would’ve made it all the more interesting and concluded some of the episodes that felt unfinished. But in conclusion, I don’t really think this show is worth your time.

I love EarthMix, but this series was not great.

There were many enjoyable aspects of it: the comedy was some of the better ones I’ve seen in BL, the premise and idea were intriguing and the setting was gorgeous. I especially liked the body swapping, Mix and Jan did such a good job in their roles! Also, the climatic scenes were great and really built up the intensity of the show.

However, this series suffers from lack of development. Earth’s character felt one dimensional to me, and Mix’s was very unlikable for a long time. It made it hard for me to ship them as a couple. Yes there are moments where we start to see them become friends again, but it didn’t feel like a natural progression to me. It almost caused me to drop the show as it made it boring and frustrating for me to watch.

Also wtf was the mum doing?! How awful! And then they just forgave her?!!

P'DEANNNNN

This was utter emotional damage from start to finish... the opening scene was so heartbreaking, then everything in between and then the intensity of the last episode! But it was all worth it.

All the characters mean so much to me! My trio, god I love them. I just wanna put Pharm and Team in my pocket, and Manow... the LOML. In and Korn brought me to tears so many times and they were probably my favourite couple. Dean and Win, respectful kings. Everyone is just great!

God Fluke is such a good actor, I think about his breakdown in episode 17 at least three times a day. I think that scene literally changed me. Someone please give his tear ducts a break.

My only complaint would be that it was maybe a couple of episodes too long. There was a little bit too much filler and could get boring in places. Also, more WinTeam please.

This is series that left an emotional scare on my heart but I can't recommend it enough!

I was hooked from start to finish.

This was absolutely amazing, from the story, to the characters, to the music. Everything about it was beautiful. I did blubber like a baby during the last episode; I am emotionally attached to this series. EarthMix are wonderful too! They’ve really solidified themselves as one of my favourite BL ships.

It was a bit frustrating towards the end with all the unnecessary conflicts and misunderstandings. This was top tear slow burn torture!!! It made it feel a bit repetitive and drags a little bit towards the end but the ending made it worth it all.

A Tale of a Thousand Stars deserves more attention. Definitely one of my favourites.

This is why SantaEarth are my favourite BL pairing

SantaEarth’s chemistry is off the charts! I adore them so much and they really shine in this series. The “i love everything about you” scene is ♾️/10! Definitely one of my favourite moments in a romance show EVER! It gave me chills.

Both main characters go through beautiful emotional arcs and I cried many times over them. I especially like the timeskip, I thought it worked really well for their characters asit let both characters find themselves individually and grow as people.

However it did drag a tiny bit in the beginning but did keep my attention when the twist happened. Also, I wasn’t all too bothered about the sister and Cake’s friend relationship; I wasn’t rooting for them to be together and wouldn’t have minded if they didn’t end up together.

And sadly the last episode was disappointing. I wish it had focused on CakeEiw more as a couple, instead of focusing on See-Eiw’s family. It felt as if it took away from their entire relationship journey and Cake’s character felt forgotten about. This meant that we never got to see their relationship as a couple develop and instead were given an unnecessary conflict that had nothing to do with the original plot of the story.

Just one long advertisement.

This was not what I thought it was going to be! I thought I was going to get a cool si-fi romance but instead it was just wasted potential:

Things I liked:
- The settings and scenery. The other universe was really cool and was beautiful to look at.
- The concept. It was such a cool premise that unfortunately they didn’t utilise.
- Episode 10. That was probably where my interest peaked.
- I really liked the friendship group, they were fun and adorable and I loved watching them.
- OhmNanon
- Neo.

Things I didn’t like:
- The plot. Why when your concept is so cool, would you ruin it by writing a plot that relates to it in no way? It was boring and messy for the most part.
- I didn’t feel the chemistry between Puen and Talay; they never felt like they crushed on each other before they fell in love.
- TOO MUCH PRODUCT PLACEMENT! If you took out all of the scenes with product placement, this could’ve easily been 8 episodes.

YOK THE ONLY CHARACTER EVER!

This is my all time favourite BL. I don’t think anything could ever top it.

Everything about this show is literal perfection… the characters… the romances… the plot. I love stories that deal with political and social problems so I of course loved it. I have never been more emotionally invested in something in my life. THE FUCKING PRIDE FLAG SCENE… DANYOK EP 13… THE VAN SCENE… UGH JUST SO GOOD! Gun ate as always! Get that man an Oscar. And I love Yok so much😫 This show did more for me than therapy could ever.

But besties… why no ToddBlack? We were robbed! Robbed I’m telling you!!!

I don’t think I will ever recover from this series, but anyway, be gay, do crimes🫡
