This was a good movie. I only selected to watch this drama because of my DOTS withdrawals and it had a similar feel via description, so I watched it. It was a bit slow and not really DOTS, but it held me over until I found something else to watch. I do kind of wish there were more scenes of the MC interacting other than drinking at the bar late at night over dinner. The ending where [name of character I shall not reveal] almost dies in the collapsing of the basement breaks my heart...I cried. Overall, pretty good, just not something I'll rewatch because it was a bit slow and my feel wasn't my speed.

Fight For My Way has very high reviews and the trailers looked so intriguing, which is why I ended up watching it and it was a solid drama, but it simply fell short of being perfect for me. It was overall, a good show, but not something I would rewatch. I love Kim Ji Won, but I wasn't particularly partial to any of the other actors in this drama. I do really love that this drama encourages people to do what they love rather than what is expected of them. That was a really amazing moral lesson to take away from this drama. Sweet romances between both lead characters unfolded, which was also nice. I just didn't find myself sucked into the atmosphere of this drama, which is kind of sad, because I could really see why people love it so much.

This show was good, but not "OMG 10/10 AMAZING." I did enjoy it, but I personally like more medical stuff, not just a medical setting. I also really wish the main female lead would have ended up with the Chief because I just think he's so awkwardly perfect. I knew she was gonna end up with her ex-husband again, but a small part of me felt that she would have found so much happiness with the Chief too, ya know? I am happy with the overall story, but I just feel like it could have been more. The ER setting had so much potential to be more intense and medically driven, but Emergency Couple lacked that. We never got to go too much in depth into each patient/case that came in. AND, because I've watched so many medical dramas, I found some of the emergency patients that came in to be very predictable (although, in real life, doctors are getting patients with similar symptoms all the time, so maybe I'm just being overly critical).
Overall, I'm really happy that the ex-husband saw the value in his own wife and the wife realized where her short comings were before they rekindled their relationship.

Doctors was sooooo good! What really sucked before starting Doctors was that a large part of the reviews said that Doctors was over-rated and how Park Shin Hye's acting wasn't good and so many other negative comments. I actually really liked Park Shin Hye's acting and think she did a great job in Doctors too! I will say though, I will never be able to look at Lee Sung Kyung as a good guy easily - her character in this drama was just so NOT good that it's hard to see her play a truly good guy. By the way, if you didn't know, Kim Rae Won is super sexy and totally worth watching in this drama. And no, the age gap isn't weird because it isn't a huge age difference.

Anyways, I loved the medical side of the show being in a hospital and I liked the overall execution of the plot. Only thing that was kinda weird - everyone had tumors, which made for a clean ending, but not very realistic to the proportions and ratios of real-life tumors (coming from someone whose worked in a hospital). Though, this aspect didn't take away from the show at all, so I didn't mind, it was just something I noticed.
Please give Doctors and chance and don't let negative bashers deter you from a great drama about romance, medicine, and true love!

I definitely think this drama deserves higher ratings than it has received. Why it has just under a score of an 8, is beyond me.... maybe people really don't understand the plot / appreciate a good medical drama?? People harshly criticize it because Dr. Park don't end up with a certain female lead, but I actually like the ending. I think the producers did a good job. I do wish that Hoon's mother could have been with them in the end, but I'm imagining that once things settle down more that their living conditions will change.

Anyways, the medical side of the drama was really cool to watch, though it was nothing particularly unique. I really liked all the characters and the OST was really good and catchy. I found myself humming it when I wasn't even watching the drama.

I will say, the first 2 episodes nearly kill your heart and could be a tragic movie on it's own, so be prepared.
Because of Doctor Stranger, I have gained a sincere curiosity in North Korean life, politics in North Korea, and defector stories. Some of the things that happen in Doctor Stranger really upset me because they were just THAT messed up, but things turned out well, so it wasn't so bad.

Also, Lee Jung Suk is a phenomenal actor - portraying such seriousness AND happy, silly moments all in the same character without seeming unrealistic is a real talent!

D-Day was a show I came across after watching Descendants of the Sun in the hopes of finding something of a similar feel. Unfortunately, it was not similar to Dots, butttttt it was still a good show on it's own. D-Day was good, it just didn't have a whole lot going on to keep me binge watching. I would watch an episode or two and then I wouldn't watch it for like a month and then I would come back to it and watch 5 episodes. There were certain moments that simply tore my heart out toward the end so prepare yourself! The plot was organized and made sense and I definitely think the actors did a great job!!!

City Hunter was really action packed but really lacked romance. and the ending I felt was too fast and lacked a good resolution.
The beginning started out rather tragically and honestly, the ending doesn't have the happily ever after "feel" even though it's not technically a "bad" ending either.
Honestly, there are other dramas that did similar plots with North Korea and South Korea having power struggles, such as Doctor Stranger, that I liked much better. Although, maybe I'm just more intrigued by medical dramas.
Overall, City Hunter was a very good, action packed, drama with a great OST, but I don't think I'd find myself rewatching it or even dwelling too much on the story in my head.

I watched this on Netflix and it was one of the first Taiwanese dramas I ever watched. Overall, it was good and I could empathize with the characters very easily. I figured out the mystery behind Chen Che's birth (through intuition) in the very first episode before it was even revealed, but that didn't take away from the desire to "find out" by watching. I loved the dynamics between both of the romances. I loved how unique the story was to show us how he got to know his mom - really got to know her because he found out by going back in time that he really didn't know his mom as well as he thought he did. The soundtrack was 50/50. The main song kinda grew on me while the ending song was AHMAZING! Super catchy and the video to go along with it was ridiculously sweet.

I really enjoyed this movie. Very lighthearted but still had some powerful morals to be learned about what it means to love and to be a parent. I found the baby voice-over to be fun! Plus, the baby was absolutely adorable. The ending literally ripped my heart out - not the ending itself, but one of the end moments... you'll known what I mean when you watch it. :D If you are looking for a movie that will entertain you, but not in a too over-the-top fashion, I would definitely give this a try. It is NOT a melodrama at all!

To very briefly summarize for a quick read on whether or not you should watch this drama (without spoilers):
Kairos seemed like something I would enjoy: a man who fights to save his daughter and wife through the use of time travel communication. Unfortunately, as the story progressed, the story got more ridiculous. There were so many plot conveniences that were just logically dumb; the wife's plot and the severe character change in the secretary - to briefly name a few without spoiling anything. The decisions these characters make just don't make sense, even if you look from their emotionally driven perspective (PLOT CONVENIENCES UGH). Personally, don't waste your time with this drama. It's really not worth your mental sanity - it will leave you frustrated and exasperated.

A detailed breakdown of why you shouldn't watch this drama to clarify my brief summary above since this drama is getting a lot of attention (spoilers below):
I initially started to realize I didn't like this drama when it was revealed that the wife is mentally unhinged and cheating on our MMC, Kim Seo Jin. What made this so unpleasant was that the story wasn't written this way initially. To the viewer, she has no logical reason to cheat on her husband; while he is a workaholic, he loves his daughter and takes care of his wife. They took it further by the wife faking her own suicide AND the faking the kidnapping/horrific MURDER of their daughter. They then try to justify this horrors by making her this villain with sociopathic tendencies, which was unsettling and not the type of drama I sought out to watch.
***Predictable - of course the wife is a cheating bitch, of course the daughter is alive. *rolls eyes*

Then there's the secretary that they did a similar 360 character change. He was a bit fishy in the beginning and his ploy was predictable, but his severe character change to this heartless villain that adjusts his glasses all deviously and has a cold tone of voice just makes no sense from the type of character he was prior to his ploy reveal (the change is too drastic - it feels unnatural).

Then I just couldn't wrap my head around the disabled father who lost his own daughter in an accident. His goal was to get revenge on Kim Seo Jin because he had been convinced that KSJ is responsible for his daughter's death. Okay, sure, I can see how that happened. But then he turns around and uses KSJ's daughter, convincing KSJ that he's kidnapped and murdered the little girl?! What type of father, who he himself is grieving the loss of his child, could bring himself to commit such atrocities?! And while some people might be able to justify it saying, "he wanted KSJ to feel what he felt," I just can't stomach it.
***Predictable - of COURSE the disabled father was going to be killed when it appeared like he was going to reveal the plot.

Then there's the male "friend" to Han Ae Ri who stole her entire life's savings meant to pay for her mother's heart transplant surgery. She MURDERED him for what he did in the original timeline! While I understand her not killing him in the new timeline (which I can imagine was really hard considering the situation), how can they just be friends again? She was guarded at first, but now it seems like they trust and depend on each other and it just doesn't add up to me. If that was me, I wouldn't be able to. *shakes head*

The phone calls between KSJ and HAR were just ineffective. I know that they only had a minute, but it seems like *they* didn't realize that. *rolls eyes* Logically, it would make more sense to send a bunch of text messages to be delivered in that one minute so they have EVERYTHING they need for the day rather than these constantly interrupted phone calls.

Also, I know this doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but it was so distracting: who decided on the awful hair cut/style for LSY's character? It looks so unflattering - in everything else I have seen her in, her hair is so beautiful, and SHE is so beautiful - just WHY?!
And could the writers stop making HAR cry about things that haven't technically happened yet? KSJ is telling her what to do to PREVENT these terrible things from happening, so stop freaking out before anything has happened! Be relieved and motivated that there's something you can do to stop this. UGH.

To summarize:
Why add all of the amazingly acted, choreographed, and portrayed theatrics of agony in the first 2 episodes if it was going to be changed to a revenge plot? The first two episodes made Kairos appear like a drama about a man who loses his entire family - first his daughter, which breaks him and his wife, then his wife. He becomes so driven to save them once he realizes he might be able to change what happened through the help of HAR. But then the plot devolved from a drama about a man saving his family, to a convoluted revenge plot with over-the-top, unrealistic villains (based on how they were written and portrayed in the beginning). Would it have been so bad if this drama was unique from other dramas of similar genre where the wife was dedicated and loved her husband and they had a normal relationship? To create *shock* value, this drama loses substance through the use of these "plot twists." I just couldn't watch anymore of this nonsense. Too many things that were incorporated in the plot to accommodate the progression of plot that I just couldn't tolerate anymore. In conclusion, I was expecting a really different plot from what was delivered, and this, along with the mentioned flaws, is why I am dropping it.

Cunning Single Lady is one of those dramas that you need to sit down and watch it continuously without the distraction of other dramas because you won't remember to finish it if you do. I liked Cunning Single Lady, I did, but to me, it doesn't compare to Go Back Couple, which had a similar plot minus the time travel. Maybe it's because I saw Go Back Couple first, but I think Go Back Couple had a better balance and incorporation of comedy than Cunning Single Lady. Go Dok Jae literally had me snorting my drink out of my nose because he was just so entertaining. There weren't too many roll-on-the-floor laughing moments in Cunning Single Lady, which meant that the plot stayed on the more dramatic side rather than light. Also, in Go Back Couple, we really got to know more than just the main characters which was nice because we had a very good picture of the whole story. In Cunning Single Lady, I felt like any parents could kind of stand in for their parents and we wouldn't really notice the difference.

Also, even if the main leads of Cunning Single Lady had a nice story, the second leads (the 2 siblings) had a turn in character toward the end of the drama (literally the last 3 episode) that saddened me as the viewer. Even though they weren't "evil" in the end, it bothers me that the writers took their characters in that direction; it wasn't only cliched, it was also simply unnecessary and unrealistic. It felt like a cop out to me. In regards to the ending, it was happy, but I feel like the ending was rushed - literally the credits started to roll and I was like, "oh. I didn't realize that was the end end. Mkay." It wasn't a rushed ending that negatively impacted the drama, but I think they could have taken out the drama of the siblings and wrote a better paced last 2 episodes.

The music wasn't bad, it just went unnoticed most of the time. Some of the songs were good (though, not good enough for me to re-listen to), others were unremarkable.

The acting for the entire cast was good, but I didn't develop any intense need to watch another actor/actress in a new drama after this. Although, Joo Sang Wook is very handsome and he was enjoyable to watch. Haha. I wonder if he is that goofy/awkward in real life or if that was strictly written for his character. :D

Anyway, overall, this was an enjoyable drama, but I don't think I would watch it again nor pull up specific scenes to rewatch.

I'm dropping this drama after finishing episode 7.
I don't usually write reviews for dramas that I've dropped, but I feel like this might be helpful to some viewers...

This drama is NOT bad. Truly. It just moves very slowly and I've simply lost interest. There's literally not enough going on with very little change of scenery.

I really like Park Shin Hye and her character has potential, but I just don't care enough about the story to finish it. Her troubled past is the most interesting, but there's very little going on with it to keep me interested. Yoon Shi Yoon's character is kinda obnoxious and immature here, which is a turn off for me (he's played much better roles since this drama). That might be where my lack of interest comes from - I'm not really feeling the romance.

So anyways, I wouldn't dissuade someone from watching this nor encourage. It's one of those older dramas you can live without seeing, but if you're on an old-timey drama kick, it might hit the spot if you like a more immature male lead?

I originally tried watching Goblin about a year ago and I just couldn't finish it for some very specific reasons. My mother saw some clips from Goblin and really wanted to watch it; I remember some really great parts when attempting to watch Goblin the first time and so I decided to give it a second chance to see if maybe I would like it better now. Unfortunately, I still don't like Goblin, which really bums me out because I loved DOTS, which was written by the same person....
It's not an issue of plot, it's more an issue with the main female protagonist for me. She comes across as an immature, whiny girl. I found her character completely annoying and entirely unrealistic when it comes to pairing her with a 700+ year old war general. It wasn't an issue of AGE for me, but rather, how her character was written. For example, in Cinderella and the Four Knights (a lovely watch, by the way), the main female protagonist is sweet, innocent, and overall, happy and good-natured. Even though both female characters in Cinderella and the Four Knights and Goblin had similar "Cinderella" circumstances, the writers executed their characterization very differently. Ultimately, while I recognize that the writer for Goblin was trying to get a happy, innocent girl despite her unfortunate circumstances, in comparison, I think Cinderella and the Four Knights female MC was so much better. She was someone I could respect, root-for, and empathize with - I just couldn't feel any of those things for the MC of Goblin.
I really couldn't move past the female MC in Goblin because of her characteristics that I mentioned above. And it really sucks because I really liked the other aspects of this drama. The Goblin has such an interesting story and history. The Grim Reaper was entertaining to watch. The interactions between the Goblin and the Grim Reaper were HILARIOUS. I also really enjoy Gong Yoo's acting and he's extremely attractive, which is a plus! But I just couldn't get over the insta-love and unrealistic romance between the girl and the Goblin.
Again, I'm really bummed and I really really REALLY had hoped that I would like this drama on the second try, but I guess it just wasn't in the cards.

I never expected myself to actually sit and watch this drama simply because I never could get behind the plot device of the MC having such low body-image and self-esteem that she resorts to plastic surgery in the hopes of improving her life. This morally goes against everything I believe in.
I too was *that* girl in school harshly ostracized and bullied for being the unattractive one. It was humiliating, degrading, and infuriating. And sure, numerous times I daydreamed about life-altering, body changing procedures in the hopes of being "perfect" in the hopes of becoming accepted, but as I aged and became a full grown adult (finished with college working in the professional career world) I matured and came to appreciate my differences and find myself beautiful. It was hard. It took a long time. Honestly, as we all do, I still have low days, but I was also fortunate enough to come to develop relationships and surround myself with the right people who love me with all my flaws and imperfections. These people help lift me up when I'm at my lowest.
There are still people, people related to me, who view me as undesirable because of my physical imperfections, constantly trying to recommend something I can do to improve myself and compare me to others they deem more attractive.... and after much deliberating, I chose to cut these toxic people out of my life because all they did was tear me down mentally. It wasn't healthy for me.
We all experience this in some form. Every single person does. It's the nature of humans all looking different and having opinions. And therefore, we all have our insecurities...

I say all of this because I really tried to give this drama a chance. I watched 8 whole hour long episodes! But the writers just couldn't seem to get it right.

My biggest gripe in this whole plot that I just can't excuse (even though I know it happens in real life) was the support the mother had in allowing her underage daughter to undergo such extreme plastic surgery. Now, I know that plastic surgery in South Korea is very common, but it is not common for plastic surgery to go to these extremes. If it was simply a double lid surgery, fine, I could get on board. But the fact that she was essentially given a whole new identity and no one, not even her father, could recognize her goes too far. It's denying who she is. Her genes. Her frickin identity. Her father had every right to feel so upset when he found out. I understand that the mother was trying to support her daughter and help her become happy, but obviously, by altering her face, she didn't help her accomplish happiness, as we see through the progression of the drama. What the poor child needed was help. Changing schools, seeking support in the schools (especially for bullying), seeking medical help for her suicidal tendencies, joining support groups, finding hobbies and extracurriculars that would foster happiness and passions through other facets in her life, experimenting with different make-up techniques to increase confidence, etc.
I don't think that the mother did her due diligence in supporting her daughter in finding happiness in a healthy way. By signing off on such extreme facial plastic surgery, it was like she was hoping to slap a bandaid on an infected wound and hoped it healed without a hitch.
**Please do not misunderstand, it is not plastic surgery itself that I necessarily have a problem with. I have a really hard time accepting the extremes of this particular instance of plastic surgery due to the circumstances of the girl's life.

Now, moving away from the female MC... I feel like I need to mention this because it got under my skin...
I was very happy to see some variety in female characters who were not the stereotypical thin and beautiful through the introduction of Kim Tae Hee who was classified as "chubby" and therefore deemed unattractive. I was really looking forward to her added view on the message of the drama. Which is why it really bothers me how the writers handled her story. She stood up for herself finally, starts to apparently date the kind senior and then the frickin bitch Soo Ah sweeps in with her egotistical and narcissistic tendencies to try to cause the new boyfriend to lose interest in Tae Hee. How unrealistic and insulting to men.
Men, unlike common stereotypes, do not simply ogle anything that breaths. They too have standards and characteristics that they gravitate towards (both physically and psychologically). So for the writers to imply that the senior boyfriend would have any interest in a woman like Soo Ah after making it so clear that he prefers woman like Tae Hee (ex, he even says he prefers rounder women at the festival!) is just an insult to male intellect. A little bit of attention isn't enough to sway the average man unless he's a pig, which the senior was not (he was portrayed as a very kindhearted, older brother-like figure).

Now, to discuss acting:
I do have to agree with the common opinion that the acting is very wooden in this drama, particularly with the MCs. I've not seen Im Soo Hyang in anything before, but I am not impressed with her acting - I hope it was her dry role in this drama and not a true demonstration of her skills.
Cha Eun Woo - I cannot be more depressed about how poor CEW appears as an actor in this drama. For those of you who haven't seen CEW before - he is a wonderful actor when playing more energetic roles. This was a horrible role for him. He didn't do a "bad" job, but he, as an actor, appears to struggle to demonstrate stoicism well. He simply hasn't mastered the facial expression nuances to portray different emotions while remaining stoic. This was a huge disappointment because in Hit the Top (The Best Hit) and Sweet Revenge (Revenge Note) (both of which came out before this drama) he did so much better with his roles - animated, sweet, engaged, tender, smiling, talking more. *sigh* Please don't let this 1 drama destroy CEW...

OST
I notice OSTs because they can really make or break scenes in a drama, especially emotionally ones. I cannot hate this soundtrack overall more. The instrumentals were alright, but the main OSTs were HORRIBLE. I nearly muted the TV every time they came on. In particular I hated Something by George and Kang Hyein the most - the tune and eeriness made me cringe and my skin crawl. D-Day by Junggigo was okay. The OST just didn't seem well placed/paired with the tone and atmosphere of this drama.

Aside from the moral issues mentioned above, the overall plot was lacking...
This drama moves reallllyyyyy slow. Nothing really progresses as the episodes go on. It actually leaves you feeling dissatisfied due to the lack of accomplishment....College life has so much more going on with so much more they could have displayed in their lives to mix things up a bit beyond mediocrity. If the writers were trying to produce a slice-of-life feel, they failed miserably. NOTHING happens of note. And there SHOULD be SOMETHING happening aside from the over dramatized banter between characters.

One thing I think the drama did well was illustrate the concept "the grass is not always greener on the other side." Everyone has a picture of what perfection is and society/people will try to impose those visions onto others. And when we finally embrace those standards and try to meet them you realize that the other side isn't greater. Having what others have does not make you happier. Happiness comes from within. This, the drama did demonstrate well. But, after 8 episodes, I'd seen enough of the drama to grasp that and drop it for it's above mentioned flaws.

Anyways, I know that this review will likely not see light under the 100 some odd other reviews of this drama, but since I have such an unpopular opinion compared to the overwhelming raging reviews, I just needed to put my 2 cents in the pile for those of you who need it. Hope this provides comfort for those people dissatisfied or unhappy with this drama.

---SPOILER---Moon Lovers had a lot of drama I could have done without quite honestly. My mom loved it though, and she was sucked into the dramas melodrama much more than I was. I would have been happier if the ending hadn't been so dramatic, but I'm glad I watched it so I knew what all the hype was about. Personally, I feel that Moon Lovers is wayyy overrated, especially after watching other historical dramas with similar vibes, such as Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. Also, everyone died, which I personally felt was too much. Like, why? Was it absolutely necessary to literally kill off almost everyone? It was like Korean Game of Thrones. Ugh. I went in, knowing that a lot of people were going to die and the ending is not happy, but man oh man so much death and corruption and threats of rape and destruction. The OST isn't particularly remarkable and I will probably never watch again because overall, it made me feel appalled at history, rather than fascinated and intrigued by the time period.
