Review for both seasons together
This is a fairly good drama. The plot had a lot of potential but the storyline between the lead couple had the same elements even though there were centuries in between each existence. The acting is good for the most part but the feelings are not well developed. Zhang Yi Jie (as Hao Yue and Lei Hao-Season 2) and Lai Yu Meng (as Princess Li Ying and Wei Yong Qian- Season 2) had a great storyline and very good chemistry. The first season was more entertaining and the characters were better developed; the CGI’s and the music were great and the action was nice. On the second season, the characters lost depth and luster due to the overused plot. Even though this is not a drama with strong re-watch value, it’s still entertaining.Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Review for Part 1 @ 2
This drama is a GREAT historical production that should not have been titled “Love Like The Galaxy” because their love was not only slow burned, but also full of secrets, lack of confidence, misunderstandings, and, the most tedious part of this drama, Shao Shang’s cold attitude and distrust toward Zi Sheng. How a great love cannot understand Zi Sheng’s emotional pain, turmoil, and commitment?Having said that, Zhao Lusi (Shao Shang) and Leo Wu (Zi Sheng) did an excellent job portraying their characters and, although their romantic chemistry was not very amorous, the best intimate interaction in the whole drama happened without an unnecessary awkward kiss in episode 36, really beautiful and heartwarming! The rest of the cast also did a wonderful job bringing their characters to life.
This drama is heavy on revenge plots, palace antics, familial interactions, truehearted friendship, occasional comedic scenes to lighten the darker tones, great action scenes, and amazing cinematography and music.
Overall, this is a magnificent drama that is worth watching. Enjoy it!

This is a drama that has everything to be highly rated (great acting, choreography, cinematography, music) but somehow, it fell short as the story progresses. Putting the lack of romantic chemistry aside, the acting is really superb, especially from the main cast. There is great character development and, in the case of Emperor Murong Gao Gong/Fu Wang, excellently played by Peter Ho, where his development can be defined as a convolution. Although the acting is quite impressive for the majority of the cast, a story of forbidden love needs to be portrayed with more passion, not the lustful passion, just the reckless, despairing, and torment passion that comes from not been able to be together. Maybe it is because of the editing, the fact that the show was trying really hard to be comedic, or simply because that the leading couple, even though they have very good playful interactions and they show great prowess together, they fell short on their romantic interactions. The story has elements of comedy, romance, great action scenes, sinister plots, and great camaraderie among Xiao Duo’s friends in arms. Overall, the drama is a good production; however, it would be more appropriate to call it Floating on the Edge or Fu Tu Tower rather than Unchained Love. Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

This review is for Season1 & 2:This is a fun and winsome short fantasy drama where the characters of a virtual game, Bo Ye and Yan, accidentally crossed to the real world after the game shut down. In the real world, Xiao Yu and Yuan Fan team up with the master of Bowu Sect to get rid of Yan, the villain of this virtual game. Coincidentally, Xiao Yu becomes Yuan Fan bodyguard and they become romantically involved. The romance is slow burned and the leading couple lacks chemistry. The drama is farcical and many characters are satirical and exaggerated, but overall, the drama is lighthearted and fun to watch while waiting for a great one to come.
SPOILER ALERT: The drama ends well since, even if the story was a dream, the leading couple has its destined meeting.

As much as I wanted to like this drama, there are too many ridiculous, illogical and nonsensical scenes that made this drama unbearable. Although the drama has a seemingly cold male lead, his character is truly soul-stirring, loving, caring, and the most understanding of them all. The female lead, under the pretense of been a feminist, comes out as selfish, shallow, and unable to fully love the male lead. As a detective type drama, the leading couple has smart deductible thinking and good chemistry; as a romantic drama, it’s dull and tedious to watch. Then the last episode tops it all with the most absurd twist that leaves the viewer frustrated and balked. Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

I May Love You is one of those dramas that had potential but got lost when, for most of the drama, the female lead is putting off the male lead because he rejected her confession which, by the way, was abrupt and lacked sincerity when she tells him the shallow reason for what she likes him making herself as superficial as her reasons. The male lead doesn’t realize that he had started to fall for her until she leaves his side. He starts to court her by all possible ways, only to be refused in a rude, humiliating, and cruel way every time he tried to pursue her even though she still likes him. The male lead did a great job bringing his character to life and bringing out all kinds of emotions like anger, jealousy, uncertainty, honest care for her, and deep love that he demonstrated as soon as he realized that he liked her. On the other hand, up until episode eighteen, the female lead is responding with disdain, cruelty and, to a certain degree, sadistically when she seems to plan strategists and takes pleasure in hurting him as he tries, diligently, to right the pain caused by his rejection. Once the leading couple gets together, the relationship is cute from her side and beautifully passionate from his. The leading lady’s character was written in such a way that, for the most part, she doesn’t seem to have the emotional intensity of falling deeply for him at first sight and loving him for four years. Huang Ri Ying (as Tang Xin) has played too many insufferable leading ladies and her deadpan expressions in this drama make it difficult to give the viewer the “I’ve loved you for so long” vibe. Overall, even if the leading couple have many intimate scenes, is the leading man who lits the flame with his great acting. Other couples and supporting cast seem less enthusiastic pursuing their love interests. Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

This quite short miniseries is a delightful romantic comedy with a hot-blooded male lead and a cute and mischievous leading lady. The drama is short so it has a fast paced evolution plot but the story is well developed and everything falls into place at the right time in the plot. The main cast did a good job bringing their characters to life but some of the supporting cast’s acting was exaggerated. The leading couple has great chemistry mostly because of the leading male whose facial expressions really get the audience to understand his emotions. The nice twist at the end explains why he was so fascinated with her and it really makes their love story credible and super cute. This miniseries is a breath of fresh air and it leaves the viewer with a great feeling at the end. Enjoy it! Questa recensione ti è stata utile?

Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre

This is a very good wuxia adaptation based on the third edition of the novel The Heaven Sword and Dragon Slaying Saber by Jin Young. This drama has great special effects and it is packed with great action scenes; it gives the viewer revenge plots, two devious and willful women as the leading ladies, a righteous male lead character (Zhang Wuji) that is too naïve for his own good but, with the help of Zhao Min, he becomes more assertive by the end of the drama. Although the drama is also under the romance genre, don’t expect the romantic plot to come with a thunderbolt. Although there is a developing love triangle and lots of misunderstanding stemming from Zhang Wuji emotional immaturity and naiveté, the romantic chemistry is not there. The last episodes are rushed and the ending, although it is a happy one, is very anticlimactic. Even so, the drama is entertaining if the viewer is not expecting a great romance.
