The melancholy, this hint of sadness.... I just love it so much. It makes me feel actual emotions, perfect to watch on passing lonely days.-----------majority of them are sad, gloomy, simple I should hurry up and watch all of these by the end of 2024!!

Japan Film Festival Online (JFF) runs 5th-19th June (noon JST, so 18th for many of us) 2024. Films available here https://watch.jff.jpf.go.jp/page/jffonline2024/Two 10 episode drama series will be available for streaming from the 19 June until 2/3rd July (noon JST).Please add or vote for your JFF Online 2024 favourites. Points are allocated based on the order you choose to add or vote for the films. If you want to vote/add more and you want them to rank higher than films you've already voted for, delete your old votes first. I'm going to do this with the five I've seen so far just to get us started.This will be fiddly for those of us who are watching several, but it's more useful to others to have the voting list active early and more fun to watch it fill up and change during the Festival. It includes all of the films which are in the MDL database. I've submitted the 4 horror shorts but they have not yet been accepted. Until they are, we can't vote for them. Jungle Emperor Leo is anime and therefore excluded from MDL. We'll have to use Comments to give these omissions some recognition.
As an avid sci-fi and fantasy fan, I love seeing unique worlds that show me a different perspective from everything else (think matriarchies, technologically advanced, very magic focused, etc) with preferably (plenty, but at least some attempt) of lore and worldbuilding, so I decided to make a list.I will not be including worlds that slightly deviate from the norm like a lot of historical fantasy titles or story/game transmigration stories where the elements aren't explored, because most are the same stuff. Immortals or magical creatures sometimes existing isn't enough 😭 I might later include unique communities (e.g. all-women organizations, cults, etc) or make a sister list for that, likely once I watch more titles... Please feel free to recommend me dramas with these concepts cuz I love it.
