  • Gochisousan

    1. Gochisousan

    Japanese Drama - 2013, 150 episodes

My first challenge to asadora and still one of my favourites! I love how the heroine is a "mere" housewife - this drama highlights the significance of the everyday.

  • Mare

    2. Mare

    Japanese Drama - 2015, 156 episodes

    9.0

Out of all I've seen, this asadora has the most prominent romance plot. The childhood arc is one of the most boring ones for me, but try to get through the first few weeks before dropping this. Spoiler: nobody dies in this!

  • Asa ga Kita

    3. Asa ga Kita

    Japanese Drama - 2015, 156 episodes

    9.5

Dramatic and addicting. The main characters are captivating but the hidden gem of this asadora is the supporting cast! One of the more feminist asadoras (even though all asadoras are pretty feminist in my eyes).

  • Toto nee-chan

    4. Toto nee-chan

    Japanese Drama - 2016, 156 episodes

    9.5

I feel like this asadora is underrated but I love the theme of female empowerment! The characters are lovable and you can feel the warmth in their relationships. Takahata Mitsuki is amazing as always.

  • Hiyokko

    5. Hiyokko

    Japanese Drama - 2017, 156 episodes

The most chill asadora I've watched. The story is gentle and like in Gochisousan, the heroine is a nobody but the story highlights the importance of the everday!

  • Hanako To Anne

    6. Hanako To Anne

    Japanese Drama - 2014, 156 episodes

    9.0

I had to watch this, being an Anne series fan. Very dramatic towards the last few weeks. I love the heroine's husband, he's probably the most kind and supportive one out of ones I've seen (Shinjiro from Asa ga Kita is close though).

  • Hanbun, Aoi

    7. Hanbun, Aoi

    Japanese Drama - 2018, 156 episodes

[ongoing] So far, amazing! Probably my favourite childhood arc yet. Currently in the youth arc of the story and the gang's friendship reminds me of the Mare gang.
