Great Dramas with Minimal Romance
-
1. School 2013
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
Focuses almost solely on friendships and the relationships between students and their teachers and the school itself - The Best.
-
2. Save Me
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
There is a crush but it does not have much to do with the story and does not interfere with the intense dynamic created by friendships and family relationships formed in dire circumstances - the crush is very realistic because in a situation such as the one portrayed in the drama, no one has the leisure (or is in the right state of mind) to be involved in any kind of romantic relationship which wouldn't end up in some way traumatizing.
-
3. Chief Kim
Korean Drama - 2017, 20 episodes
Some romantic undertones but an excellent and absolutely satisfying watch that feels both infatuating and almost disappointing because there isn't more of it.
-
4. Nobuta Wo Produce
Japanese Drama - 2005, 10 episodes
Centered around school friendships and doesn't take the typical romantic turn, leaving the way the friendships develop feeling new and exciting.
-
5. Angry Mom
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Very minimal romance which serves a good purpose in the plot - both as comic relief and a way to see the more human side of some characters which works because they're high school students. Other than that a surprising, touching, and at times heart-wrenching story based around the relationship between mothers and daughters.

6. The Fiery Priest
Korean Drama - 2019, 40 episodes
A bit similar to Chief Kim with its cohesion and comedy, the characters are funny and all the relationships are great without need for romance.
-
7. Sweet Home
Korean Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
THE BEST even the little bit of romance is nice... i love it
