3. L'Inferno dei Single Stagione 3
Korean TV Show - 2023, 11 episodes
This season was just shit, I'm sorry!
First of all idk why they decided to change the location from the previous 2 seasons...was the budget lowered or something?! This year's set design was just terrible! It seemed like everyone was suffocating in those tiny container rooms. The visuals weren't giving in general!
Separating the participants into two islands was a nice surprise and this season was heavy on the drama, which made the show very exciting to watch at times. The hosts were also enjoyable for like the first time ever. Their comments were spot on most of the time and they didn't hold back from talking shit about whoever they didn't vibe with. DEX was a great addition to the team! This is about all the good things I can say for this season.
Gwan Hee was just a PRICK and it was infuriating seeing all the girls going crazy for him. The amount of screen time he and his harem got was CRIMINAL! I genuinely couldn't stand his ass. Nobody cares about his indecisiveness and percentage calculating tactics, GET HIM OFF MY SCREEN!
They barely gave any screen time to my faves -_- Jin Seok was the one that deserved all the flowers!
I'm also tired of seeing certain participants each season who either don't put any effort into going after anyone or just have zero screen time for whatever reason. Why did you even cast them, if you're not gonna put them on screen??!

4. Oh My Ghostess
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
《But that summer, because of the girl who came and went like a midsummer dream, we learned how to love. And by fate we came to realize the importance of people in our lives》
[REWATCH]
This is my ultimate comfort show! I rewatch it at least once per year. I just love it so much, it gets me every time T_T
Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk always amaze me with their performance. It just makes me so happy seeing some really good and natural acting sometimes *sigh*
Also, not me writing in a previous rewatch review that this was cringey as hell (º_º) ...I'm a changed woman, this is EVERYTHING!
[spoiler below]
Till this day it still buffles me how people really thought that the ML and the ghost would be a thing in the end. Like what??!

5. Ready, Set, Love
Thai Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
I've always wanted to watch a drama that includes the whole game theme that squid game has but without all the gore and the killing. Like make it fun! And that's exactly what this drama is...it's like Squid game for the rom-com lovers. Therefore, I couldn't help but look forward to it and be glued to my screen the moment it airs ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)
The 1st ep was actually AMAZING! I remember being obsessed with it and acting like I had been deprived from watching a good drama for decades. The first game was so fun and the main leads' dynamic was g i v i n g already!
I loved how quirky and over-the-top the FL was. Sometimes you need that kinda slapstick humor, you know? She and the ML had great chemistry! The childhood connection trope almost made me flip out but I ended up accepting it.
The plot in general was interesting and unique but I would've loved it if they had focused more on the fun aspect and not so much on the revolution. Like nobody told me it was about to get this serious :/ Also, they should have paid more attention on the game designs. Some of them weren't interesting enough.
At last, the SFL shouldn't have had that much screen time. Like nobody cares about her, why cram her useless storyline into a 6 episode drama?!

6. Vuoi sposare mio marito?
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
One of my fave 2024 kdramas!
Kdramas had been declining for a while and this one quite literally brought them back from the dead for me. This might even be Park Min Young's best drama.
I was truly so obsessed with the first few eps. I kept on rewatching them again and again like a mad person whilst waiting for new ones to come out. Honestly I'm always sat for a rebirth plot and here they handled this particular theme perfectly. The way that the FL didn't directly turn into a determined person thirsty for revenge felt realistic. It was a slow process in which we got to see her growth as a character and cheer for each one of her little wins. So many scenes were just *chef's kiss*
The ML was a 10/10. So supportive and willing to do anything for the FL. Like that's MY MAN! Honestly I even liked the villains. They are the type of characters that you just love to hate. But let's not talk about a certain character that appeared later on. If that character was played by a skilled actress it would EAT so bad! Such a shame ( • ᴖ • 。)
They were going a bit back and forth at some point, but they managed to put everything into place and what I thought was useless actually had its own significance. The ending was great but, idk, it didn't really make wanna give it a 10.

8. Branding in Seongsu-dong
Korean Drama - 2024, 24 episodes
I was pleasantly surprised cause I expected a silly body swap drama but they really hit me with a bunch of cool plot twists early on. Like every time I said I knew what's gonna happen, something new popped up. In general, it's not a perfect drama but I liked how they strayed away from cliches and reversed the usual cold ML/cheerfull FL motive.
I liked the FL's strong personality, at first, but honestly she started getting annoying. Especially when she was in the ML's body she was downright she was getting on my nerves. LOVED, loved, loved all her cool slow-mo entrances though!? The ML was so precious and really hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed his character when he was in FL's body. These two had such a steamy chemistry but the actual romance was not convincing at all. Like it didn't make sense why they liked each other. BUT, somehow everything came together towards the end and I saw the vision.
Yu mi was insufferable for the most part and honestly the actress wasn't that good either.
The ending was kinda corny. Like they gotta stop with the cartoon-esque villains, cause it's giving scooby doo core :/

9. Under the Skin
Chinese Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
I usually don't enjoy these procedural dramas cause I tend to get less and less interested with each new case that gets introduced, but I had to give it a chance since I was in a crime drama mood and a Tan Jian Ci obsession mood. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
To my surprise I actually thoroughly enjoyed the cases. Each case stops as soon as they catch the culprit and then they quickly move on to the next one so it doesn't get tiring. Plus they sprinkle some hints of the main mystery plot in between each case, which helps on keeping you invested for a long time. I would have preferred some longer yet enticing cases instead of some of the shorter ones we got, though. Those were kind of not needed honestly :/
Shen Yi was such an endearing and smart character with an intriguing backstory. Like what is this cutie patootie doing at the police force^^ Du Cheng was annoying at first but I ended up liking him as well. I would have loved it if they gave us more bromance moments between these two. Hopefully we'll see more of that on S2.
I love how they handled the main mystery plot. The clues were gradually revealed and I preferred that instead of a grand reveal at the end.
Although, I gotta say that Shen Yi was doing too much with the way he was finding the clues :/ Sometimes it felt like he was able to find a needle in hay and at other times it would take him an eternity to figure out the most obvious things. So I guess that to a certain extent you kinda have to shut down your brain while watching this drama.

10. Derailment
Chinese Drama - 2023, 30 episodes
I watched derailment on a whim and I was very skeptical about it for quite a few eps but once I got warmed up to it, I was obsessed! If you know me, I only obsessively watch xianxia dramas. Modern cdramas are a hit or miss for me (mostly gravitating towards the miss), so the fact that I liked this is considered a success in my book.
The plot grabbed my attention right away. The whole premise was very interesting, I love me a parallel universe drama. The FL was quite annoying at first but you can't help but root for her cause she goes through so much.
The SML didnt really have any screen time but tell me how the heck did I manage to get SLS again...Had they given me a love triangle, it would've been bad for me T_T Honestly we should have seen more of his character and less of the FL's hairdressing/makeup career endeavors. His storyline was actually very interesting, it's a pity they squeezed it at the end of the drama. Plus his bickering dynamic with the FL was *chef's kiss*
Halfway through they decided to mess up the story and say bye to the sci-fi element. We suddenly transported to the healing drama territory. The ML was just annoying and obsessed with his high school sweetheart, I couldn't stand him. It sucks cause I did like him and the FL together at first. But I don't know how they did it, they pulled me right back in the last eps. That last ep was heartwarming. They might have taken a new direction with the story but it was still beautifully done.
The cinematography was gorgeous and I LOVED the OSTs! It would have been a 10/10 if it wasn't for all the changes they made.

11. Zhi Bi
Chinese Drama - 2024, 24 episodes
Probably my fave short drama!
I'm usually very picky with short c-dramas since most of them are just not worth it, but Fortune writer was honestly SO good!
It ticks all of the boxes for me. Captivating plot, unapologetic FL and morally grey characters in general, INSANE chemistry between the main leads, angst done right....what more do I want?! Well, I would have loved it if it were a full-length drama but honestly even its duration was just right.
The plot definitely strays away from the usual cliches. I'm always happy coming across dramas with fresh and unique stories.
The main leads had such a grip on me, it's crazy! They push and pulled at my heartstrings and gave me all the feels (╥﹏╥). Their love-hate relationship was *chef's kiss*
Daisy Li is such a goddess! She's made to play morally grey, badass characters. My girl needs to be in a full-length series ASAP!

12. Life is But a Dream
Korean Movie - 2022
I don't even know why i watched this. I just came across it and decided to watch cause it's only 20 mins long. I usually love me a good bite-sized short film but this one wasn't giving:/
The story wasn't engaging enough for me and the overall aesthetics could have been a lot better.
Overall, a waste of time for me! Like I almost fell asleep watching it and it's only 20 mins (¬_¬")

14. Hierarchy
Korean Drama - 2024, 7 episodes
I usually don't complete dramas I don't like, but this one was short so I had the pleasure of giving my first ever 1.5 rating :/
Other than the cringey attempt to appeal to the western audience the first eps were very intriguing, promising us a sick revenge plot. I myself was starting to wonder why everyone was trashing this drama. But, lo and beholf, the plot indeed started turning into absolute dog shit (¬_¬).
[ spoilers ]
So not only did I have to sit through multiple people's terrible acting performance but also the writer really tried to make us feel sympathy for a bunch of bullies. I was actually so baffled, cause the continuous attempt for a pity party was crazy. Like yes all of these people are either brutally bullying others or enabling bullying but, here, take a sweet montage of them being besties in the past and a bunch of other scenes that'll make you shed a tear or two for them *not* (like having to take a bus and not a limo home, so sad :/).
The cherry on top was the FL excusing SML's behavior and acting like he's a sweet baby she has to protect. Protect him from the ML that was trying to punish the perpetrators for what they did, mind you -_- The only likeable character was the ML but even he was dumb as hell and barely did anything himself.
In general, the whitewashing of bullying was infuriating to watch and the ending was just as infuriating. It was an "everyone turns into a good person with the wave of a magic wand" type of ending. Barely anyone got punished, but I will give it to the ML for choosing to not forgive any of them.
