    Korean Movie - 2021

    9.0

    The rep is strong here. It's just . . . chef's kiss.

Seriously. This was such an honest, knowledgeable, and respectful portrayal of Asexuality. Not everyone who identifies as Asexual has the same boundaries in a romantic and/or sexual relationship (Asexuality is a sexuality in itself but also an umbrella term, just something to keep in mind). Some are comfortable with some physical contact while others find it completely revolting, some are okay with sexual acts and/or occasional sex while others aren't, and some may want to try something outside of their comfort zone/experiment while others don't. It is a spectrum.

On top of this great representation, this Asexual ML is also in a polyamorous relationship.

    Just . . . Go watch it!

*Big Big and emotional clap for accurate Asexual representation and another clap added onto that because Asexual people generally don't even exist in media as well as an additional clap for Polyamorous representation*

  • Friend Zone 2: Dangerous Area

    2. Friend Zone 2: Dangerous Area

    Thai Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    8.5

Give me a moment . . . I'm too exciteeeed! And I want to cryyyyyy! We got . . . an ASEXUAL LESBIAN, Amm!

Did you think a drama would ever dare? I certainly didn't!

She didn't use the term Asexual (did call herself a Lesbian multiple times) but she certainly described it. If you want to get into the technical you would only possibly be able to argue with me that she is just under the Ace (Asexual) umbrella and maybe some other specific label would be more fitting.

*Very emotional and proud clap for Asexual representation*

  • Don't Say No

    3. Don't Say No

    Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes

    9.0

When I tell you my jaw dropped when I got to Episode 2! The word "Pansexual" was actually used regarding a character, Leon! Can you believe it? And not just once, at least twice!!! He didn't say it himself, but there was really no need to seeing how they described how he would date/was interested in men, women, and nonbinary people, they called him Pansexual, and he was also involved with a girl before he started seeing Pob. Could we ask for much more? Not really short of him saying it himself. Lol.

Not to mention you guys, Leon is such a caring person and an absolute sweetheart. At first you think he's going to annoy you, but then he grows on you and brings a smile to your face constantly.

Also, the word "Nonbinary" was used! Sayeth what?!

*Claps for all kinds of representation because we are actually living in the 21st century*

  • The Warp Effect

    6. The Warp Effect

    Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    6.0

A Nonbinary Supporting Character! And not just that, but Molly themself is just a strong and interesting character. So . . .  This is a win on all fronts!

    *Happy clap for Nonbinary representation*

  • Bad Buddy

    7. Bad Buddy

    Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes

    9.5

*Squeals* we got a Lesbian Romance!!! Pa and Ink were the cutest side couple and my heart soared seeing them. I thought I was imagining things when there were hints in the beginning. But, they delivered on it!

This kind of representation in a Thai Drama is basically nonexistent.

*Very proud clap for Lesbian representation in Thai Dramas*

  • Sad Temptation

    8. Sad Temptation

    Korean Special - 1999, 2 episodes

    10

Well, hellooooo 1999! Look at you go!

Don't let the bit of an iffy description on this drama fool you, it is actually very progressive for the time it was made and while the ending is sad it is well done.

*Surprised and very pleased clap for good rep from decades ago as well as an additional clap for the fucking amazing acting*

  • S.O.S

    9. S.O.S

    Korean Movie - 2015

    10

The way they incorporated the colors of the Ace flag, placed you in the position of feeling like the woman during physical intimacy: crawling in your skin while hoping time speeds up, the quiet symbolism in the background. It was all so well-portrayed. I felt this truly spoke to the Ace experience.

*Very emotional clap for Ace representation*

  • Itaewon Class

    10. Itaewon Class

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    8.5

I found this rep (Trans FL, Hyun Yi) to be nothing short of stand-out. It was moving, made no apologies for the space it took up, and, best of all, didn't end in tragedy. I highly recommend watching this drama just for the rep alone, not to say the drama isn't worthwhile, because it is.

*Massive teary-eyed clap for amazing Trans representation as well as an additional clap for the main ML saying #TransRights*
