Top-tier everything. If you want a perfect combo of musical, happiness, romance, fluffiness, relatability, emotional, and comedy, then this is for you! GeminiFourth's chemistry is out of this world, and you can feel their genuine enjoyment of acting and playing their characters in this series. It's a feel-good comfort series that bring you to tears! hands-down must watch
-
2. Bad Buddy
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
This has been my continuous life source since the day it first aired! It's created a whole new level for BLs in all aspects, and the surprising powerhouse duo of Ohm and Nanon is the cherry on top. There is no overhype, and if anything. it's not hyped enough. Expect superb quality, acting, chemistry, dialogue, characters, representation, plot, twists, kisses, and everything else.
-
3. Ossan's Love
Japanese Drama - 2018, 7 episodes
This is absolutely hilarious! With crazy humor, characters, and romance, be prepared for a comedic BL
-
4. I Told Sunset About You
Thai Drama - 2020, 5 episodes
This was the first BL to impress me with its breath-taking cinematography and symbolism, but the acting, chemistry, dialogue, and absolute banger of a soundtrack and OSTs are also amazing. I 100% rec you to watch if you haven't yet!!!
-
5. Kieta Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Total adorableness. Those words speak for themselves, but just know that this BL is so pure, cute, and youthful that you may be tempted to go back to your high school days. Overall, its great quality, deep character development, great acting, funny moments, and banger soundtrack sung by the actors themselves will surely be enough to make you immediately fall in love
-
6. The Eighth Sense
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
bringing K bls to the next level with how well-executed, emotional, and beautiful this series was ? amazing actors playing amazing characters with satisfying chemistry and character arcs. I can't help but feel like it's the ITSAY of Korea with the cinematography, juicy emotions, and healing of trauma
-
7. After the Restart
Japanese Movie - 2020
This chill countryside BL movie is a refreshing change of pace full of self-discovery. The cinematography is also surprisingly breathtaking with the often sunset-colored palette and earthy tones!
-
8. Marry My Dead Body
Taiwanese Movie - 2022
kinda bl - a perfect balance of comedy, supernatural, horror, crime, mystery, and healing
even if it was unconfirmed that there were ever romantic feelings between the main two leads, their chemistry and hilarious dynamic is unmatched
it was simple and yet it was perfectly executed, going above and beyond any expectations or lask thereof that I initially had before watching. a beautiful mix of looking back at one's life after death and inner reflection
-
9. Absolute BL
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
It's comedy-centered for sure, but there are also many cute and overdramatic moments sprinkled throughout this meta BL series. It's the perfect short shot of romcom to binge
All seasons are really good :)
-
10. Hidamari ga Kikoeru
Japanese Movie - 2017
This is one of my few comfort movies - it's so peaceful and cute yet tackles some heavier topics such as disabilities. This is a great BL if you want something chill and fluffy
-
11. Semantic Error
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
An absolute banger just because of it's overall execution and the electric chemistry between the leads!!! Plus acting is top tier and eye candy for days ?
-
12. Eien no Kino
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
A bit depressing but so beautiful. Immaculate bittersweet vibes and cinematography. The amazing chemistry and acting left me wanting more glimpses into what their future could have been like.
-
13. I Told Sunset About You Part 2
Thai Drama - 2021, 5 episodes
Maybe it wasn't quite as good as its predecessor ITSAY, but it still incorporates great everything. If you still crave awesome cinematography, acting, symbolism, and dialogue, then give this a watch!
-
14. You Are My Favorite
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
Great sci-fi plot and great execution! I was surprised when I first started watching and saw just how potent the unexpected chemistry between Krist and Gawin! beautiful. hearttouching. The overarching message of not holding back when making choices in life so that you won't grow old and look back, wishing you could time travel and fix your mistakes or make better choices. And the exploration of different timelines and choices added such a uniquely interesting flavor that expanded throughout all the series. amazing
-
15. Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
This is one of the best combinations of fluffiness, supernatural, BL, and comedy. The actors also have great chemistry and the plot is interesting and original
-
16. He's Coming To Me
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
A certified Thai BL classic!!! It's both supernatural and fluffy, light-hearted and emotional, and overall great execution. The chemistry is a lovely surprise and the soundtrack and cinematography are also great tidbits to look out for
-
17. Ossan’s Love: LOVE or DEAD
Japanese Movie - 2019
Hilarious just like the first season but even more overdramatic, this movie also has my boi Shison Jun so everything becomes 10x better ;)
-
18. Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai
Japanese Drama - 2022, 4 episodes
An oddly poetic feeling. I loved their youthful dynamic and the subtle sweetness of it all. Give me the simple things.
-
19. The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese
Japanese Movie - 2020
Heavy on the spoicy side, the couple in this movie is messy, toxic, complicated, dramatic, and addicting characters. The chemistry and heavy ambiance set the tone, plus the beautifully-shot cinematography full of reds and blues add even more to the atmosphere.
-
20. Kamisama no Ekohiiki
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
With a supernaturally unique plot and the acting to top it all off, this was a BL/GL that almost went completely under my radar. Although the characters didn't feel quite complicated or deep enough for me, everyone's acting made me truly feel like they switched bodies.
-
21. Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai!
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Super fluffy, funny, and original. Great for a casual watch
-
22. His - Koi Suru Tsumori Nante Nakatta
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
This is a short slice-of-life BL that unravels first love in a simple yet beautiful way. I like it a bit more than the movie just because I prefer these vibes
-
23. We Best Love: Forever the First
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
The enemies-to-lovers goes hard with this one! Jam-packed with iconic smooches and moments, plus the overall acting and quality is pretty good too
-
24. Light On Me
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
A revolutionary K BL, and for good reason! Long episodes and run times, real character development, awesome chemistry, great acting, a well-done love triangle, and absolute cuteness can all be your to see if you watch this amazing BL!!!
-
25. Vita~Amore in Riga
Japanese Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
The 4 eps follow the entire journey of the couple, which I rarely see. It also conveys many different emotions with every scene and episode, such as uncertainty, happiness, regret, sadness, frustration, etc, so it's difficult to get bored.
-
26. Minato Shouji Coin Laundry
Japanese Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Besides the concept of their age gap and some weird flirting tactics (explaining difficult), finishing this BL made me want to I wanted to revisit the summery vibes and peaceful laundromat. I really didn't care for the side couple and some plot points dragged on for way too long. But overall, their dynamic was cute and there's something about this that draws me in.
-
27. HIStory3: Trapped
Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes
The chemistry, the enemies-to-lovers trope, and the forbidden love all together made this my favorite HIStory installment
-
28. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
Did I cringe a lot? Maybe. But it was adorable nonetheless. Certain plot points could have been changed and it could have had a few more episodes to flesh things out, but it was a fluffy BL that added a new twist to workplace romance.
-
29. Still 2gether
Thai Special - 2020, 5 episodes
Better than the original series and the continued use of SCRUBB in the soundtrack makes this a great BL
-
30. 2gether: The Series
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
Being one of the BLs that launched the BL movement, I think it's overhyped. But its legendary soundtrack alone should give you a reason to watch it. Long live SCRUBB!
-
31. Blueming
Korean Drama - 2022, 11 episodes
I liked the first half a lot more than later on, but the acting, chemistry, and characters make this BL stand out from most K BLs
-
32. Kei×Yaku: Abunai Aibou
Japanese Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
Technicalllyyyy not bl. There was a lot of potential in the story and their relationship. But at some point, both felt like they hit a wall and the progress flatlined. The cinematography was on point and was able to capture so many moods, from calm to anger. I really hope there's a second season since many things were unresolved and I could still feel their angsty desire.
-
33. The Lover
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
Technically, this is not a purely BL series. If anything, the BL couple is the side-side story and they don't appear often (sad boi hours). But the few moments they do appear on screen is pure bliss with comedy and cuteness, so skip around if you're feeling crazy and watch just the BL bits
-
34. The Boy Next Door
Korean Drama - 2017, 15 episodes
This is actually just a bromance where other characters think the main duo are a gay couple (I know I know, don't skewer me), but the comedy and chemistry make it a worthy watch!
