Donut's Complete Korean List
This contains all of the South Korean dramas, movies, and other shows that I have watched since I started to watch Kdramas and korean movies, which was in the end of 2019.
-
1. Human Form
Korean Movie - 2015
This was a short movie about the extreme effect of Korean beauty standards. It was a real diamond in the rough but I will most likely not remember it later.
-
2. 200 Pounds Beauty
Korean Movie - 2006
Aah! Heard of this from AsianCrush. The movie was very sweet, and it was one of the movies that got me into the whole K-drama/K-movie scene as a whole. I loved it!
-
3. Sweet Revenge
Korean Drama - 2017, 22 episodes
Sweet Revenge was my first K-drama. It was also available on AsianCrush with 200 Pound Beauty. Overall, it was short and sweet, and I loved the fluffy romance and the school aspects of it.
-
4. Sweet Revenge Season 2
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
Sweet Revenge Season 2 was pretty much the same as season 1, except there was a different idol actor, Samuel Kim. It was definitely a longer and more fulfilling series, but it was just the same song, second verse, if you get what I mean.
-
5. Parasite
Korean Movie - 2019
Parasite truly deserved that shiny Oscar. It was meaningful and interesting, and mastered the ability to show instead of telling. Love it.
-
6. Mother
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
Mother was a series that was a little difficult to get through, mainly because the mother and daughter were getting so screwed over every few minutes that it took me time to recover. We did get a happy ending though. Does that count as a spoiler?
-
7. Train to Busan
Korean Movie - 2016
I cried hard the night I watched this one. Real, real hard. Not spoiling anything though.
-
8. Silenced
Korean Movie - 2011
Silenced was another great film from Gong Yoo, who was the lead in Train to Busan. Students are being abused in a school for the disabled, and he, a teacher at said school, rallies for their safety.
-
9. Kill It
Korean Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Kill It definitely started on a great note, fitting the action/thriller niche that I especially love. It fell a little flat from it though, and I was fighting just to finish the series at the end.
-
10. Beautiful World
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Beautiful World tended to be more on the dramatic side, but it was fulfilling of a series nonetheless. I will never forget the feeling I got when I finished the series. It was a combination of relief for the family, peace, and a little bit of pain.
-
11. Circle
Korean Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
Shall I dare to say that Circle is my favorite K-drama? Seriously, it had a super scintillating storyline. I couldn't get enough of it. And the acting of the present-day male lead? Superb!
-
12. Forgotten
Korean Movie - 2017
I was at the edge of my seat for Forgotten. While some horror cliches were present, I seriously wanted to know what would happen next. It kind of reminded me of one of my favorite Black Mirror episodes. Well, that would be a spoiler but you don't know which one I'm talking about ;)
-
13. A Tale of Two Sisters
Korean Movie - 2003
This was underwhelming. Just the same old horror stereotypes, and an easily predictable twist at the end. An open and shut case that's just full of expired mayonnaise and browned avocados that would probably give you diarrhea while you're already keeled over from period cramps.
-
14. Signal
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Signal was a great series that I will probably not forget for a while. Unfortunately, it was too good, and now I can't find something good enough to fill the void :( . Oh well.
-
15. If You Were Me
Korean Movie - 2003
Some of these shorts really blew it out of the water. I know for a fact that I will continue to rewatch "Never Ending Peace and Love" as well as the plastic surgery one, because damn. Those were crazy good.
-
16. 7 First Kisses
Korean Special - 2016, 8 episodes
This was a quick read, which I used to kick off my 2020 Watch Challenge on July 29, 2020. To be honest, it was pretty cringe worthy. But, in its own way, it was entertaining, I guess.
-
17. Who Are You: School 2015
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
I really enjoyed this series. I don't normally like school dramas that much, but everything turned out well with this one. It's likely that I'll rewatch it as well. There is some cliche involved, but it's sweet though.
-
18. Tassista
Korean Movie - 2017
This movie was simply astounding to watch. The fact that it's based on a true story made it even better. Definitely a movie I would rewatch, and I definitely want to see more of Song Kang Ho.
-
19. Let's Eat
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
The friendship between all of the characters was very cute, and I absolutely loved the scenes with food! Would definitely recommend this sometime during the winter, since it's nice to watch a show with hot food served on a cold day.
-
20. Miracle in Cell No. 7
Korean Movie - 2013
This is the hardest I have ever cried for a movie before. And I've seen Train to Busan and Your Name. That's really saying something.
-
21. Sunny
Korean Movie - 2011
Everything about this movie was absolutely amazing. The soundtrack, the camaraderie, the characters and the storyline, all totally whistledicking amazing.
-
22. Boys Over Flowers
Korean Drama - 2009, 25 episodes
The usual - rich, evil mother, attractive modern-day Renaissance men, relatively ordinary girl surrounded by everything extraordinary. Geum Jandi is basically Y/N if you think about it, and this whole thing read like a Wattpad fanfic.
-
23. Hope
Korean Movie - 2013
This was a very heartwarming and cute movie, but at the same time, it didn't seem too original. I feel like I've seen/read of plots like these in webtoons, manga, and other sources. Still, it was heartwarming and definitely worth watching.
-
24. I Saw The Devil
Korean Movie - 2010
This was decent. Let me be honest, I had higher expectations for the movie seeing the average rating, but I guess it was a fair thing to watch to pass the time this winter break (2020).
-
25. #Alive
Korean Movie - 2020
Pretty decent but otherwise half-baked zombie apocalypse movie. I wouldn't rewatch it but I am not mad that I did watch it. Perfect way to while away a night on December 30, 2020.
-
26. Bargain
Korean Movie - 2015
This was a very good short. It was only 15 minutes but I really liked the plot twists. I think it could have been a little more meaningful though.
-
27. Call
Korean Movie - 2020
Now this... was dark. This was so much darker than I expected, and it does not end happy either.
