The Best of Time-traveling Dramas

At some point I hated time-traveling stories. I realized a few years ago that it's not that I don't like them, but it's so easy to write bad ones. To be honest, stories of time travel reflect the fantasy of many. Who doesn't want to go back in time (temporarily)?

Here's a list of my favorite time-traveling dramas, in order of preference.

  • Some Day or One Day

    1. Some Day or One Day

    Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 13 episodes

    9.0

This drama blew me away! One thing about modern-day time travel is, how do you make it interesting and innovative? These stories are always about trying to change the past, but this one is entirely different. It keeps surprising you at every turn! My absolute favorite time-travel drama so far!

  • Queen In Hyun's Man

    2. Queen In Hyun's Man

    Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes

    9.0

I absolutely hate, with a passion, time-travel narratives where the traveler acts dumb for cheap humor. The best thing about this drama is that the male lead, who lands in the future, uses his smarts to understand and adapt to the modern day. For that alone (not even getting into all the juicy good stuff about the show), it's a top tier drama!

  • 365: One Year Against Destiny

    3. 365: One Year Against Destiny

    Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes

    8.0

This drama's premise is cliché because it's about people going back in time to change their lives, but it adds a twist to it...because then, one by one, they start dying. It was gripping from the start to the end, though some aspects (eg. the romance) were underdeveloped. Definitely a good time-travel drama!

  • Queen Cheorin

    4. Queen Cheorin

    Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes

    7.5

Sometimes, dramas have very ridiculous or far-fetched reasons for time traveling. Sometimes, they don't even try to explain it. That's not the case in this drama, the reason kind of makes sense? There are a few things that didn't sit well with me, but I got to say all in all the drama was quite diverting! I saw the first ten episodes or so in two days, so I was definitely into it!

  • Nine: Nine Times Time Travel

    5. Nine: Nine Times Time Travel

    Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes

    7.0

There's lots and lots of time traveling involved in this drama, because the main lead's got nine chances of changing the past! This makes for a very suspenseful show, because we never if he'll succeed and what will be the consequences of the changes. I remember being pretty hyped, though it's been years since I watched this drama.
